This post contains spoilers for the "Resident Evil" film franchise.
Umbrella Corporation. The name will forever be associated with unsavory, downright evil acts within the "Resident Evil" universe, catalyzing the events that define the franchise. Although Capcom's "Resident Evil" games have their own set of canonical events concerning Umbrella Corp., the film adaptations that branched into their own universe also paint this multinational conglomerate in a rather infamous light. In every iteration, Umbrella is never up to any good: be it the manufacture and mass production of biological weaponry, or ushering a new race of virus-enhance monstrosities. At the end of the day, the "Resident Evil" films also fit the survival-horror mold, with a woman named Alice (Milla Jovovich) at the center of the horrors crafted by none other than Umbrella.

There’s not much that can improve the already impeccable Resident Evil 4 remake that Capcom released about six months ago. A remake that understood what made the 2004 original release so beloved while using lessons learned from Resident Evil 2 (2019) to bring it into the modern era. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if it ends up being in many “Game of the Year” conversations. There was a part of it missing, however.
No, not Mercenaries but something added in the original PS2 release that somehow never found its way to the remake. I’m talking about Separate Ways, the story-focused expansion that told the events of the game through the eyes of super agent Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy’s budding romance/rivalry partner. Separate Ways gave players a lot into her motivations of why she was in Europe during the course of...

Last summer, a TV series based on the Resident Evil video game franchise made its debut on the Netflix streaming service – and was quickly cancelled. That show was an entirely separate project from Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, the feature film that was released at the end of 2021… and it looks like Welcome to Raccoon City was the more successful of the two projects, because it might actually be getting a follow-up! That movie came to us from Raccoon Hg Film Productions and was filmed in Greater Sudbury, a city in Ontario, Canada. Sudbury.com reports that a mysterious movie called Umbrella Chronicles, which is backed by Raccoon Hg Film Productions, is receiving $2 million in funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to film in the Greater Sudbury area. Since this movie is coming from the same production company as Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, is going...

The big question for longtime Resident Evil fans with regards to Netflix’s new take on the franchise is whether or not it exists within the same canon as the games. Does this show continue or enhance the timeline of the video games in some way?
The definitive answer is revealed in episode 7, “Parasite,” in which we learn that the show’s Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), father to Jade (Ella Balinska/Tamara Smart) and Billie (Adeline Rudolph/Siena Agudong), is one of several clones the Wesker from the games made of himself. We even see Reddick don the signature leather trench coat and shades for a short flashback scene in which the original Wesker physically and verbally abuses every soul in his vicinity, as only he can.

Netflix’s new Resident Evil series points the franchise in a very unexpected direction, completely changing what we think we know about the villainous Albert Wesker. Played by Lance Reddick (Fringe) in the new streaming show, the Wesker of this series is much more than just a mad scientist hellbent on world domination — he’s also a family man with two daughters with their own teen drama to sort out. Jade (Ella Balinska/Tamara Smart) and Billie (Adeline Rudolph/Siena Agudong) give us an inside look into what it’s like growing up a Wesker, and by the end of the first season, we’ve learned just what it means to be tied to such a dark legacy.

Resident Evil is making a cinematic comeback in the near future.
Those with even a passing interest in Capcom’s beloved survival horror series will likely be well aware of that fact already, of course, but what else do we truly know about the reboot? Truthfully, not much. Constantin Film has confirmed previously that James Wan and Johannes Roberts were attached to the film as producer and writer/director respectively, though it has since emerged that Wan departed the project in order to work on another cinematic video game revival in the form of Mortal Kombat.
Roberts, on the other hand, has reiterated more recently that his adaptation of the franchise will more closely follow the source material, but we’ve still yet to learn of any official plot details or, for that matter, the characters that’ll appear on-screen.

Scooby-Doo, Thomas the Tank Engine, Grand Theft Auto, Friday the 13th, It: the list of pop culture icons, whether it be children’s cartoons or horror cinema, being inserted into Capcom’s acclaimed survival horror remake has truly known no bounds since launch last year. The subject of such wacky fan-made creations, of course, has more often than not been the game’s terrifying Mr. X, though heroes Leon and Claire certainly haven’t been exempt. Case in point: George Chief Moding’s decision to replace the pair with a certain band of Ghostbusters.

Capcom is bringing the controversial Resident Evil 5 and 6 to the Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch's Resident Evil library will soon grow by two as Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 are the latest games in the horror series to make their way to Nintendo's console.
Resident Evil 5 was first released in 2009 as the direct follow-up to the revolutionary Resident Evil 4. The game centers on Chris Redfield and his partner Sheva Alomar as they battle infected residents of an African city and other evils. While many felt that Resident Evil 5 didn't quite live up to the standards set by Resident Evil 4 in terms of its story and pacing, the sequel is still held in high acclaim for its co-op gameplay and unique setting. We actually named it one of the most underrated multiplayer experiences.
Resident Evil 6...well, that was an interesting game. Resident Evil 6 focused on four protagonists: Leon S.

Patrick House has downsized to a studio apartment -- that is to say, he won the tenth season of NBC's 'The Biggest Loser.'
The former college football player dropped an astounding 181 pounds, to slim down from 400 pounds to 219. At 6'2, he looks fit, trim, healthy and happy -- and it's not just because of his new body. The $250,000 prize money comes at a crucial time.
"I lost my job in January, so a lot of the money is going to pay back my family and friends that I borrowed from just to live this year," he told Us Weekly. "I'm going to get my family back on our feet and start my new life."
A father of two from Mississippi, he'll now run South Carolina's Mind Stream Academy, helping overweight teens trim down and learn.

Ada Wong, Patrick House and Alfredo "Frado" Dinten all shed major weight to reach the finals of "The Biggest Loser," but only one of them packed on $250,000 in grand-prize dough Tuesday night! At the end of the competition the scale was kindest to Patrick, a 28-year-old husband and father of two from Mississippi. "To win 'The Biggest Loser' means everything to me," he said. "My future now is as bright as it's ever been." He said he'd been given the opportunity to work for a program at a South Carolina school that helps overweight teens. Patrick arrived at "The Biggest Loser" ranch weighing 400 pounds. He dropped 181 to finish the competition at 219 pounds. "It's crazy to think that I let myself get that out of control," he said about his starting weight. "And I can tell you, I'm never going back to that." "The Biggest Loser" finale brought the 10th season to a close as Patrick House earned the $250,000 prize.
At the start of the two-hour finale, the contestants were down to the final four: Patrick House (starting weight 400 lbs), Frado Dinten (367 lbs), Elizabeth Ruiz (244 lbs) and Ada Wong (258 lbs).
It was revealed right off the bat that the viewers chose Ada to continue on to the final three with Patrick and Frado, who were already in the finals. Before they got to the finals, though, they did weigh-ins with the previous contestants for the at-home prize. Adam Hurtado takes an early lead, having lost 45% of his starting weight, then Rick Deroque takes over with his 47%. But finally Mark Pinkhasovich wins the at-home prize with over 50% of his starting weight lost. That is just astounding.
