- Mara was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. She was an active participant in theater, temple Youth Choir and recorded many albums for Paul Zim Productions, singing in Hebrew, Yiddish and English. As a teenager, Mara trained at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts. Mara's passion to pursue the arts professionally was confirmed by her high school program STAC, which focused on Film Analysis, Production and Editing. In 2007, Mara graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a BFA in Musical Theatre. She made her National Tour debut in "Jesus Christ Superstar" and shared the stage with Golden Globe nominee Ted Neeley. She made her feature film debut in "Trophy Kids."
