Silence of the Lambs Producer Discusses Donald Trump's Hannibal Lecter Reference - Main Image
Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently hosted a rally on the New Jersey shoreline and likened immigrants to the 'late, great Hannibal Lecter' from 1991's Silence of the Lambs.
In response, the Oscar-winning producer Edward Saxon refuses to take this lightly and expresses just how wrong this reference was.
Donald Trump References Hannibal Lecter in His Jersey Shore Rally Speech
Trump claimed that Venezuela's crime rate is 72% down "because they took a lot of their criminals and moved them" to the U.S. (which is actually a lot smaller than his numbers).
Not to mention, Venezuela, as the Former President continued, "is emptying out their mental institutions into the United States."
It is worth mentioning that the Former President made the same statement about the South American mental institution last year, and had no evidence to prove his statements.

50 years after its release, Bob Clark's "Black Christmas" remains one of the most chilling scary stories put to celluloid. The 1974 proto-slasher pits a group of sorority members against "Billy," an almost preternatural stranger who sputters incoherent yet disturbing sentiments at them over phone calls before hunting them down, all the while discreetly stowed away in their attic. Yet, the real horror of the film is as much the entitled men and patriarchy these young women have to deal with as the mysterious individual actively trying to murder them.
"Black Christmas" may have been released decades before "Acab" came back into the vernacular, but it embraces the same idea. The police are enragingly slow to respond to these women and their harassment complaints, with John Saxon's Lieutenant Fuller the rare competent officer who actually listens to them and soon realizes just how much immediate danger they're in. Saxon himself...

And we also glimpse that in our exclusive sneak peek of an all-new episode!
TV Fanatic scored another first look at a jampacked hour that focuses on one of the frontrunners in the competition.
When we get wrapped up in the competition, it's sometimes easy to forget all the sacrifices the contestants make to be in the series.
It's anyone's win for the taking as the competition winds down.

Epix will adapt author Bernard Cornwell's 'Arthurian' trilogy, "The Warlord Chronicles", including "The Winter King", "Excalibur" and "Enemy Of God", showcasing 'magic' as a mixture of coincidence, psychology, primitive technology and illusion falling on the superstitions, religious fundamentalism and intolerance of the era:
"Once upon a time, in a land that was called Britain, these things happened ... well, maybe," said Cornwell. "'The Warlord Trilogy' is my attempt to tell the story of 'Arthur', 'Rex Quondam Rexque Futurus', the 'Once and Future King', although I doubt he ever was a king. I suspect he was a great warlord of the sixth century. 'Nennius', who was one of the earliest historians to mention Arthur, calls him the 'dux bellorum', the 'leader of battles' or 'warlord'..."
"Post-Roman Britain was a difficult time for the native Britons, being threatened by invasion from the Anglo-Saxons in the East and raids from the Irish in the West.

With professional baggage that includes music video work for the likes of Björk, Panda Bear, Dirty Projectors and Grizzly Bear, Isaiah Saxon has been painstakingly putting together The Legend of Ochi since October of 2021. Among the Sundance Institute Screenwriters Labs attendees back in 2018, due to the complex work involved in post, it’ll have been a long journey to completion for Saxon’s feature debut — animation takes time folks! Starring Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Finn Wolfhard and Helena Zengel, some scenes The Legend of Ochi were shot in Transylvania and other magical backdrops. Indie production shop The Exchange, also known as Bos Entertainment, is suing Wonderfilm for breach of contract related to their partnership on Harvey Keitel and Tyrese Gibson-starrer Hard Matter, which appears to be stuck in limbo for failure to pay a visual effects vendor.
The lawsuit filed on Tuesday in California federal court arrives in the wake of an investor in the movie — which was allegedly led to believe it was financing a Mel Gibson-led film only for the project to never get finished due to a lack of funds — accusing Wonderfilm of swindling it out of more than $5 million. The Exchange, in turn, is looking to distance itself from the company and Wonderfilm principals Bret Saxon and Jeff Bowler. It claims that it had no part in the alleged scheme and that it was defrauded since Wonderfilm failed to secure insurance for the movie.

Indie production shop Wonderfilm has been sued for fraud and breach of contract in a lawsuit accusing the company and its directors of swindling an investor — which was allegedly led to believe it was financing a Mel Gibson-led film only for the project to never get finished due to a lack of funds — out of more than $5 million.
Investor Gridiron Productions alleges fraud in a lawsuit claiming Wonderfilm principals Bret Saxon and Jeff Bowler changed the terms of contracts to pay themselves exorbitant salaries on top of exaggerating the budget for the movie, with the goal of making it for less and pocketing the difference.
The lawsuit filed on Sept. 12 in California federal court mirrors claims made in other legal actions against Saxon. According to a review of court records by The Hollywood Reporter, he was named in 2011 in a series of complaints accusing him of operating a “ponzi scheme,...

Kanye West has earned a well-deserved reputation for erratic behavior.
Now, the rapper reportedly wants to remove the windows and electricity from his $57 million Malibu, California, home, turning it into “a bomb shelter from the 1910s.”
The idea turned out to be a project manager’s worst nightmare.
Tony Saxon, the former manager of the remodeling project, is currently suing the rap superstar.
Saxon filed a lawsuit against West on Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The lawsuit claims Saxon was fired after expressing “concerns about the extreme danger of such actions.” West allegedly paid Saxon for one week’s worth of labor despite his commitment to working 16-hour days.
The partnership went south once Saxon denied West’s request to remove all windows and electricity and move large generators into his house. West allegedly threatened Saxon, indicating that he would be considered “an enemy if he did not comply,...

Spoilers for "Ahsoka" follow.
What compelled Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), a Mandalorian, to remove and store her neon beskar armor in "Ahsoka"? Episode 4, "A Fallen Jedi," insinuates a depressing answer to this, as well as her fervor to find her long-lost battle brother Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) in the far reaches of Wild Space. It's only when Sabine regains hope in Ezra's survival that she dons her beskar and Mandalorian weaponry again.
Sabine lands in a tight spot when she seemingly loses her Jedi master, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). Cornered by Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson), a former Jedi and Imperial-allied mercenary, Sabine holds the Wild Space map hostage. Through Force mind-reads and deduction, Baylan realizes that Sabine lost her Mandalorian birth family, which fuels her desperation to find Ezra. He tempts her to surrender the map in return for her survival, which gives the Thrawn loyalists the coordinates to Wild Space.

Fitness personality and television icon Jack Lalanne is getting the biopic treatment, both in nonfiction and narrative forms.
Mark Wahlberg and his Unrealistic Ideas banner will partner with Wonderfilm Media and Lalanne’s widow, Elaine, and the Lalanne family on a documentary feature and a narrative film about the fitness pioneer.
Before wellness was christened an industry and fitness deemed a lifestyle, Lalanne was an exercise and nutrition guru. After opening a gym in Oakland in the 1930s (often credited as the nation’s first fitness club), he began to evangelize the benefits of personal health, later hosting the fitness TV show The Jack Lalanne Show from 1951 to 1985. A longtime bodybuilder, Lalanne also became synonymous with his feats of strength, including, at 60 years old, swimming to Alcatraz while handcuffed.

When it comes to the modern Mission: Impossible movies, you can forget the big Hollywood trade magazines. Writer/director Christopher McQuarrie is your main source for casting news. And he's put out the latest update, with word that actor Rolf Saxon is aboard the still-filming eighth entry Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2.
Saxon is a throwback to the original 1996 M:i movie, as he played CIA Analyst William Donloe, the who was supposed to be watching highly classified documents before Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt drops from the ceiling and steals them in one of the most iconic moments of that outing. Donloe's punishment for his failure? Reassignment to a chilly substation in Alaska.
It marks the latest in connective tissue to the first film, since we already know that Henry Czerny is back as Eugene Kittridge, who suspects Hunt is a mole. From the looks of the initial Dead Reckoning Part One trailer,...

The "Mission: Impossible" sequels aren't done casting up just yet, and another blast from the past will be returning to the fold. As revealed by director Christopher McQuarrie on Instagram, none other than Rolf Saxon will be returning to the franchise for the first time since the original film hit theaters back in 1996. Indeed, we will be seeing CIA Analyst William Donloe back in action, and that raises some pretty big questions.

McQuarrie, unfortunately, didn't specify whether or not we'll be seeing Saxon in "Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One," which arrives in theaters on July 14 of this year, or if he will be in next year's sequel. It seems far more likely that Saxon will be in "Part Two," given that the movie is currently filming and the first installment has been in the can for a little bit now.

After 25 years, “Mission: Impossible” fans may finally find out whatever happened to William Donloe, the CIA analyst from the original movie who was supposed to be watching highly classified documents before Ethan Hunt drops from the ceiling and steals them in the now famous scene.
On his Instagram account Wednesday, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” writer Christopher McQuarrie revealed that actor Rolf Saxon, who played William Donloe in the first “Mission: Impossible,” is returning in next year’s franchise finale, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.”
McQuarrie shared a photo of Saxon’s character, who is now sporting a beard after the events of the original “Mission: Impossible.” After Tom Cruise’s super spy Ethan Hunt suspended himself from a cable and dropped down from ceiling of the high-security CIA vault to steal the Noc list, Donloe was promptly fired and reassigned to a polar substation in Alaska.

It’s time for a new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show, and in this one our hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are looking back at the 1985 Italian horror classic Demons (watch it Here), a movie that not only has some cool ghoul action but also has a rocking soundtrack. That soundtrack includes the likes of Billy Idol, Mötley Crüe, and Saxon. To hear what The Arrow and Lance had to say about Demons, check out the video embedded above!
Directed by Lamberto Bava from a screenplay he crafted with Dardano Sacchetti, Franco Ferrini, and producer Dario Argento, Demons has the following synopsis:
Demons takes place in an old mysterious cinema, where all the patrons have been invited by a sinister disfigured man distributing movie tickets. The surprise attraction is a horror movie, several patrons are disgusted by the picture, a brutal stalk & slash flick...

With a dime of films under his belt, the debate regarding which Quentin Tarantino film is his best rages on. With such a wide spectrum of subgenres and influences on display in his work, assessing Tarantino's filmography comes down to a matter of subjective taste, but real ones know that "Jackie Brown" should always be in contention for the top spot.
The film sees Pam Grier in the titular role, a flight attendant who is busted smuggling funds for her arms dealer boss, Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). Two law enforcement agents (Michael Keaton and Michael Bowen) attempt to enlist her to help bring him down, threatening her with jail time if she chooses not to. Unfortunately, Robbie isn't someone who takes betrayal kindly, and turning him in could mean being killed for her participation. Jackie Brown instead decides to double-cross them both, taking the smuggled money for herself...

Pain… Pain… Pain… That’s one of the main emotions I experienced while watching this week’s (rather excellent) Doctor Who, as I knew this weekly round-up of references, similarities and generally interesting ‘stuff’ was going to be a whopper. That doesn’t mean I haven’t missed anything, though, so if you spot something I’ve not mentioned, do the honourable thing and leave it in the comments section below...

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash we have very little reason to be interested in them. – Pauline Kael.
The above quote from the late, legendary American film critic Kael was most certainly not referring to Lamberto Bava’s Demons (1985), but a lot of films in our beloved genre bow to this description. Demons is great trash – it wants nothing more to assault your senses with a barrage of images and sound for 88 minutes before you even know what hit you, and does so while breathing that rarified Italian air.
But I’m sure she was referring to a film like Demons – one made with a ton of style, by a filmmaker impassioned with his chosen topic, as ridiculous as that plays on the screen. And make no mistake, Demons is ridiculous; as a matter of fact, it starts there before rapidly ascending to the sublime.

Callbacks of the Daleks
This isn’t the first time the Doctor has wielded a Dalek gunstick. Having narrated every Dalek story to date for Davros in 1975’s Genesis Of The Daleks, the fourth Doctor then destroys the recording using a Dalek gun. Dalek gunsticks were also wielded by the Dalek-humans in David Tennant Story Evolution Of The Daleks.

From ampersands to The Apprentice, from dinner ladies to Dirty Den, here's a selection of nerdy in-jokes from Doctor Who series 2...
Last month we took a look at Doctor Who Series One as it celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Specifically, we delved deep into the murky world of in-jokes and sweet nerdy references.
Let’s take another trip back in time and have a look at the more notable and interesting references and in-jokes from Doctor Who Series Two, starring David Tennant and Billie Piper, where the credit of “Doctor Who” had been changed back to “The Doctor”. Pfft, party poopers.
New Earth
Old-skool fans would have been forgiven for being excited at the prospect, given that “New Earth” was a planet mentioned in the 1974 classic Invasion Of The Dinosaurs (though it didn’t actually exist in that story, it was a fake world). But all fans could get excited at...

For those of you Trubies out there, the final season of True Blood is coming out, as well as a nifty box set of the entire HBO series and even Gamera is getting his own box set to boot. And for those of you out there who fancy yourselves fans of cult cannibal flicks, Intervision is releasing two obscure titles this week that might be of interest- Mondo Cannibal and In the Land of the Cannibals.

Da Vinci’s Demons debuts tonight at 10pm on Fox, and there’s every chance that the channel have got a potentially big hit on their hands. Created by David S. Goyer, a screenwriter on Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the forthcoming Man of Steel, the show is a historical fantasy drama following the adventures of a young Leonardo Da Vinci. The show has already been renewed in the Us for a second season which is certainly a good sign, and the UK will get it’s first glimpse at a young Leonardo in tonight’s episode, The Hanged Man.
HeyUGuys were lucky enough to sit down with four of the principal cast members from the show, and we’ve got those spoiler-free discussions here for you now. First up we spoke to Tom Riley, who plays Leonardo Da Vinci himself, and Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie) who plays the part of Lucrezia Donati.

“They will make cemeteries their cathedrals and the cities your tombs”
The guys at Destroy The Brain.com have a doozy in store for their monthly Late Night Grindhouse Midnight offering this weekend (May 4th and 5th) at the Hi-Pointe Theater: a 35mm print of Demons, one of the most absurdly entertaining films you’ll ever see. I saw Demons at the now-shuttered Kenrick Theater three times in one week when it first opened back in 1985 so trust me, you don’t want to miss your chance to see this jaw-dropping gorefest on the big screen. You’ll be glad you did.
Those wacky Italians. Whereas plot is not in the Italian horror vocabulary, imagery and breakneck pace certainly are and that has never been more apparent than in the crazy/gory classic Demons. The sketchy story concerns a group of strangers who all receive tickets to a special screening...
