Flim The Movie is a very clever, very funny mockumentary. It was a surprise hit at Raindance Film Festival 2014 and despite a low budget and miniscule marketing spend found itself nominated for a British Independent Film Award alongside big hitters like Calvary and The Imitation Game. The story centres around a hapless, wannabe Bollywood director called Ravi (played by Raffaello Degruttola). He claims to have made at least one short film back in India and has come to the UK to make his first feature film. Capturing this is the Nick Broomfield-cum-Louis Theroux documentarian Scott (played by Steven Waddington).
As well as star in it, Degruttola produced and directed it.

The New York Television Festival took place last week, and aside from several neat panels (including an appearance from our very own Josh Cohen!), the yearly celebration of all things TV handed out awards and pilot money to several excellent series, including a few from the web series world that deserve particular mention. Nytvf awarded its Best Web Series Pilot award to Lovin' Lakin, a meta-comedy where 90s child star Christine Lakin attempts to revive her career in Hollywood. The series is buoyed by appearances from several Hollywood big names: Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Seth Macfarlane, and Kristen Chenoweth all make appearances. In 2006 I think... my mind is a little fuzzy, I had the privilege to be part of the original cast of Dont Quit Your Night Job-- an all Broadway Improv show. The show was created by Sarah Saltzberg, Steve Rosen, and David Rossmer. Ps - go see Steve and David in The Other Josh Cohen which starts previews Wed at the SoHo playhouse all of them comedic gold. Now... it may seem like Im milking my friends here, but I wouldnt post it if it wasnt true Anyhow, I always had a fantasy of writing a sketch for the show involving David Hyde Pierce and Brian dArcy James. I was 15 years old when "Total Recall" came out, the summer where childhood was saying its final goodbyes and independence was readying itself for an introduction. Going to the movies without grown-ups was still something of a novelty, particularly ones with so much gratuitous sex and violence.
Seeing "Total Recall," however, wasn't just a night out that felt more adult, it was a milestone for me in understanding how something could be both thoughtful and crowd-pleasing at the same time.
See, I was friends with Scott Silverberg, who was a year older anyway, but his older brother Derek had a car. A Volvo, sure, but it was a car, and it was loaded with Black Sabbath tapes and he constantly sprayed this vanilla-almond air freshener that made it smell like a marzipan with wheels. He wasn't a rocket scientist, or even very nice, but it was a car and that...

If there's one thing "Entourage" character Ari Gold could do it was sell.
Though the beloved bro-centered show is coming to an end, it looks like Jeremy Piven has picked up a few tricks of his character's trade.
Deadline reports that Piven's production company, Luscious Mayhem, has partnered with Bischoff Hervey Entertainment for a new reality project, the very titillating-titled, "Blow."
Of course, the synopsis is not necessarily as salacious: The show follows New Orleans glassblower Josh Cohen and his team as they navigate their demanding clientele.
Well, certainly Piven's penchant for wit won't stop at the title.

Some web series pop out as fast as the creative diarrhea works its ways from inception inside the brain of anyone with a camera to the bowels of YouTube. Others, take time. Sometimes years. Crackle’s new half-animated, half-live-action comedy web series Issues falls in the latter of those two camps. The setup of Issues, which percolated during co-creator Matt Oates’ college psych class, is rather simple—Dr. Ted (Josh Cooke) is a disgruntled psychologist sorting out “the bizarre neuroses and psychoses” of animated superheroes. Or, as our own Josh Cohen put it, “Issues is what happens when you take those Jerry Seinfeld and Superman Amex commercials off the streets of New York City and into a pschyologists’s office.” Voicing these original superheroes—like the flashing-exhibitionist Captain Magnificent Seth Green (Austin Powers), Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Ron Livingston (Office Space), Rob Riggle (The Daily Show), Greg Grunberg (Heroes), and...
