Quantum Leap Episode 4
Quantum Leap episode 4 “A Decent Proposal” is far better than decent. This episode melds romantic comedy and action adventure in a way that fans haven’t seen in thirty years. The hope, heart, humor, and history that were the pillars of the original Quantum Leap series are now on full display in this iteration of the revival.
Dr. Ben Song’s (Raymond Lee) leap into the body of beautiful bounty hunter Eva Sandoval delivers a moment where the curly mullets on the men in a L.A. nightclub in 1981 lead Ben to briefly think he is in a gay bar. Until he sees himself in the mirror and realizes that the man groping his bare shoulder is being a total creep toward a woman. Addison Augustine (Caitlin Bassett) observes that, in only thirty seconds in a woman’s body, Ben is “harassed,...

I'll be honest. I can't help but feel that I've failed my readers.
While I've never claimed to be a foremost authority on the original Quantum Leap series, I think I'm pretty well-versed.
So when Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 4 plays out its "In Plain Sight" theme with Magic being a former leapee from the Og Ql Season 3 Episode 2, a connection I could've made if I'd just Googled, "Herbert 'Magic' Williams" Weeks ago -- say, when I interviewed Ernie Hudson -- I can only hang my head and admit mea culpa.
It's a helluva solid narrative theme. I give the writers kudos for that. With Tammy Jean being El Serpiente, Addison being Ben's mystery memory woman, and Jake admitting that the thought of Eva being hurt or killed while bounty hunting is driving his move to Illinois, they drive that message home.
Another thing they handle well is the "gender-creative" situation...

Justin Hartley is joining the time-traveling fun of NBC‘s Quantum Leap, but don’t expect his character to be anything like Kevin Pearson on This Is Us, which ended its six-season run earlier this year. The episode is set in 1981, and Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) has jumped into the body of a female bounty hunter named Eva. She and her boyfriend Jake (Hartley) are on a bounty mission to track down a character named Tammy Jean, played by Hartley’s real-life wife Sofia Pernas. However, Ben jumps into Eva’s body just as Eva and Jake’s relationship is at a crossroads — a proposal! Needless to say, Eva’s reaction isn’t what Jake expected. For more on the episode, how Hartley ended up working with wife, and what Hartley’s been up to since saying goodbye to This Is Us, TV Insider chatted with the actor. How...

I’ll freely admit there was a heavy dose of trepidation going into Apocalypse Kiss. You see I’ve had the “pleasure” of watching one of writer/director Christian Jude Grillo’s films (Deer Crossing aka Wasteland) before and it wasn’t the greatest of experiences… But just like you should never judge a book by its cover I feel you should never judge a filmmaker from just one film, even if that film was a complete shambles. Grillo’s previous effort was a backwoods thriller, a poor mans Texas Chainsaw Massacre if you will but this time out Grillo aims his sights higher, bringing us a dystopian vision of a city in ruin, controlled by corrupt politicians and evil corporations.
