Los Angeles newcomer Alex Odin, is a young, independent Writer/Director
from the Boston area. Odin has directed over 30 short films and won
nine awards for his direction and writing in various Boston-area
festivals and showcases. His shorts were featured in the "Best of
Boston Open Screen" showcase in 2010 and again in 2011.
Odin studied film at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. He was the first ever winner of the Bentley University Film Festival award for Best Director. To date the only other recipient of that award was partner-in-crime Ali Kane. Upon graduation, Odin was award the Bentley University Media and Culture Community Award by the department's chairpersons for having spearheaded the University's largest student film production to-date on his short film "Fine Without You."
As artist, Odin is a humanist, making movies with a real sense of genuineness and authenticity. His focus as a director is on character and story, in which he strives to combine his natural optimism and hopefulness about life with his familiarity with the struggles and pains of relationships.
