Tonight on Nasa’s Unexplained Files – someone manages to get into Mission Control Center in Alabama and scientists find evidence of an invisible planet. In 1997 Jerry Alan Whittredge managed to get into one of Nasa’s Mission Control Centers, despite them being one of the most secure parts of any Nasa operation. Being in the Mission Control area gives an intruder access to both Nasa and military data. Usually the strict monitoring of everyone who is in the building during a mission prevents any such breaches. Former CIA Covert Operations Office Mike Baker tells the show: “When you got an individual like this...read more...

Former CIA operative Mike Baker took aim at Intercept editor Jeremy Scahill and other journalists as “celebrity f—ers” after the site published an explosive whistleblower story on Thursday that exposed the Obama administration’s secret drone program. “These guys are celebrity f–kers; Juliane Assange and Glenn Greenwald, they love the attention, they love the celebrity and the fame that it brings them; if they say they don’t, they’re lying,” he told TheWrap in an interview. Baker, who spent 17 years as a covert operations officer and now runs security and investigations company Diligence, said the eight-part report...

What is winning streak over? Matt Jackson, the 23-year-old paralegal from Washington, D.C., relinquished his crown after losing his 14th round on ABC's iconic game show, Jeopardy! Tuesday night against competitor Michael Baker from New York City. While it may be somewhat of a disappointment, Jackson's wallet won't be too sad. He accumulated $411,612 during his 13-round-winning streak and landed him in fourth place in the show's overall "all-time regular season money winnings" ranking. Still, he won't be running to the bank with all that cash. Instead, he said he will donate 10 percent to charity. Jackson quickly became an audience...

But in the process, he amassed over $400,000 in total winnings ($411,612 to be exact), landing him in fourth place on the all-time regular-season (non-tournament) money winnings list. Only three players in the show's history – Ken Jennings ($2.5M), Dave Madden ($432,400) and Julia Collins…...

Yet another horror remake will be coming soon to theaters near you. But obligatory eye-rolling aside, this one has some promise. Deadline reports producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker are spearheading a remake of David Cronenberg.s 1975 Shivers. The original film, which was alternately called Orgy of the Blood Parasites, The Parasite Murders, They Came From Within and Frissions, just played at special screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, honoring the Canadian filmmaker.s contribution to the nation.s cinematic reputation. Apparently, this proved the perfect venue to announce a redo. The original Shivers was a science-gone-awry tale that played into sexual fears. One mad scientist Dr. Emil Hobbes develops a parasite that is one part aphrodisiac and one part venereal disease. Once these creepy critters latch on to a host, it essentially makes them a Vd-ridden nymphomaniac hell-bent on sex and passing on the parasite. For obvious (and...

David Cronenberg’s first feature-length film, 1975’s Shivers, received a special commemorative screening at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, which was presumably all just a ruse to find the last remaining copy and burn it, so it could make way for a remake from producers Michael Baker and Jeff Sackman. (“Don’t need this anymore,” Baker and Sackman presumably said, as the acrid smoke of roasting acetate filled the theater.) Adding to the list of the many Cronenberg films rumored for remakes in recent years—including Videodrome, Scanners, The Brood, and The Fly—Sackman and Baker will ...

Producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker today announced that they will remake the horror classic Shivers David Cronenbergs first feature film. Shivers broke ground with its boundarypushing sexuality and violence in its original release nearly 40 years ago. The new Shivers will be updated for todays social and sexual realities. In a postHIV world where people interact through screens rather than skin the parasite breaks down those digital barriers. This is a world that is both more liberated than that of 1975 and more fearful and uptight. Shivers will be directed by awardwinning Danish filmmaker Rie Rasmussen from a screenplay written by Ian Driscoll. Working with them as executive producer is the films original executive...

Toronto -- Danish filmmaker Rie Rasmussen is remaking David Cronenberg's first feature film Shivers for producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker. Shivers, made nearly 40 years ago and known in some countries as They Came From Within, tells the story of a genetically engineered strain of parasites that turns people into violent, sex addicts. When the parasites are released into a luxury apartment complex, the resident doctor tries to find a cure before the nymphomaniac inhabitants spread the virus. The new Shivers -- set to start shooting in February -- will be updated to mirror today’s realities and is set in a post-

One of the golden boys of Canadian film, David Cronenberg, is being celebrated at this year's Toronto International Film Festival for his commitment to quality moviemaking and his ability to make even the most hardened tough guy feel a little bit queasy (like when Samantha Eggers opens the egg sack in "The Brood;" classic). Now comes word from Tiff that the director's first film, the psychosexual nightmare "Shivers," is being remade. Because of course it is. The announcement was made from producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker, who play to shoot a remake to Cronenberg's 1975 debut (which was produced by "Ghostbusters" filmmaker Ivan Reitman), early next year. Danish filmmaker Rie Rasmussen will direct the project from a screenplay written by Ian Driscoll, with plans to update the tale for modern audiences, something that makes us quite worried. If you haven't seen the original "Shivers," which has a commemorative screening at Tiff this year,...

Producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker have hired Denmark’s Rie Rasmussen to remake David Cronenberg’s classic first feature, itself the subject of a special screening at Toronto this year.
Sackman’s Tajj Media and Baker’s Bunk 11 will produce while the film’s original executive producer André Link reprises his role.
Casting is underway in time for a February 2014 shoot. Ian Driscoll’s screenplay updates the original storyline about a parasite outbreak that turns apartment complex residents into sex fiends to incorporate the realities of the post-hiv digital world.
Cronenberg, the subject of the retrospective David Cronenberg: Evolution exhibition at Toronto, wrote and directed the original 1975 Shivers, which was known in some countries as They Came From Within.
“I’m Scandinavian and am very comfortable with sexual expression as a part of a healthy, modern-day reality, and I’ve always loved the underlying social messages in a well-made horror film,” said Rasmussen...

Montreat, N.C. — George Beverly Shea, whose booming baritone voice echoed through stadiums, squares and souls during a decades-long career with evangelist Billy Graham, died Tuesday. He was 104.
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association spokesman Brent Rinehart said Shea died in Asheville after a brief illness.
Shea's rendition of "How Great Thou Art" came to define the faith of a Protestant generation that Graham helped bring to Jesus Christ. He performed live before an estimated 200 million people at crusades over the years – taking him from North Dakota to North Korea and beyond.
He joined Graham's crusade team in 1947 and stayed until Graham's declining health ended most of the evangelist's public appearances nearly 60 years later.
"As a young man starting my ministry, I asked Bev if he would join me," Graham said then. "He said yes and for over 60 years we had the privilege of ministering together across the country and around the world.
