Kamal El Mallakh is an Egyptian Film Editor and Producer based in Cairo. He was born into an artistic family and named after the famous Kamal El Mallakh, his grandfather, the writer and founder of Cairo International Film Festival.
In 2010, he received his BA in Film Editing then his MFA in Film Directing in 2012. Mallakh started his career as an Associate Editor in the top watched TV Series in the Middle East, starring the Legend Adel Emam. After this success, he started making TV Series in Dubai and Kuwait and expanded overseas. He also worked on many Award Winning and Critically Acclaimed Films such as "200 Meters" and "The Return to Homs". Additionally, he contributed in more than 100 Commercials and TV Shows in Cairo, LA, Paris, Zürich, Stuttgart, Dubai, Beirut, Amman, Tunisia and Kuwait. Aside from his work, Mallakh participated in many important Film Festivals and Workshops, the latest was Venice International Film Festival 2020. Likewise, he was part of Durban Talents (South Africa), Beirut Talents (Lebanon), and Interaction Film Camp (Serbia) for many years.
In 2019, Mallakh founded his own Post-Production house in Cairo "Jazz Films" offering all aspects of Media Solutions, such as Editing, Color Grading, and Online Services, producing their first Feature Film "200 Meters", Jordan's official submission to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film Category, the film that won the Audience Award in the 77th Venice International Film Festival and many others such as Seville, Antalya, Thessaloniki, Gouna, BFI, Busan, and Brussels.
