The Dunkin’ Super Bowl Lviii commercial starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Tom Brady as part of an ultimate boyband dubbed ‘The DunKings’ became the talk of the town after its airing during the big game.
The ad sees the Argo alum and his newly-formed supergroup storm into Jennifer Lopez’s studio donning pink and orange tracksuits. They bust into some sick moves, and show off their musical chops with an original pop track, albeit to Matt Damon’s reluctance, who appeared to be second-guessing everything that led up to this moment.
Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ Spot aired during Super Bowl Lviii
More comedic sequences ensue, but at the very end, we see Affleck and Damon walk side-by-side out of the studio as the latter says, “Remember how I said I would do anything for you? This is anything.” Turns out, this moment wasn’t even scripted!

Last month, Kevin Smith revealed that he “lost a bet” to his frequent collaborator Jason Mewes and as a result had started writing the script for a third Jay and Silent Bob movie (following Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot) – but while Reboot was very similar to Strike Back, this time he’s working to keep the sequel unpredictable. So we won’t be seeing Jay and Silent Bob hitting the road to stop the production of a Bluntman and Chronic movie again. This one will have a different set-up – and Smith has given an idea of what the plot will be in a new social media post! He also promised that, unlike Clerks III, this movie won’t be killing off any beloved characters.
Smith wrote, “2024 marks the 30th anniversary of my first film Clerks – which means that it’s also the 30th...

Earlier this month, Kevin Smith revealed that he “lost a bet” to his frequent collaborator Jason Mewes and as a result had started writing the script for a third Jay and Silent Bob movie (following Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot). On the latest episode of the Fatman Beyond podcast he hosts alongside writer Marc Bernardin, Smith talked a bit more about the movie we’ll call Jay and Silent Bob 3 for now, saying that he’s working to take the script in unpredictable directions. He also said this Jay and Silent Bob movie might be the next film he makes!
Smith told Bernardin and the fans in attendance, “I’ve been working on not just finishing up (The 4:30 Movie), but working on the next one. I’m writing – I didn’t think I would do it for a long time, but I...

They say you never forget your first Kevin Smith movie, and for a lot of people, that film is 1999's "Dogma." While Smith broke onto the scene with indie darlings like "Clerks," "Mallrats," and "Chasing Amy," his religious satire came after the success of "Good Will Hunting," which helped break View Askewniverse favorite Ben Affleck and his collaborative partner Matt Damon into a whole new category of fame and acclaim. Adding stars like Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, and Alan Rickman to the cast only piqued audience interest even more, as did the controversy that surrounded such a "blasphemous" film. Many consider "Dogma" to be one of Smith's strongest entries in his filmography (this writer included), but younger generations have been unable to easily access the film, which has become ridiculously difficult to track down.
As of publication, "Dogma" is unavailable to stream (legally) on any platform, and unused, out-of-print physical...

To paraphrase Cardinal Glick in Dogma, Harvey Weinstein does not make mistakes–all right, mistakes were made. Kevin Smith has brought to light another power move pulled by the shamed former Hollywood producer, saying he is now holding Dogma “hostage” from having any major future.
Kevin Smith claims that Harvey Weinstein called him apparently at random a few years about a potential Dogma sequel. One week later, the rape and sexual abuse allegations against Weinstein came out. Smith believes Weinstein was calling numerous “Miramax family” members to feel out if they had spoken to The New York Times prior to the story breaking.
Kevin Smith’s Dogma, which tells of two fallen angels (Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) trying to take advantage of a loophole to get back in heaven, was always a tough sell for Miramax and Lionsgate. Now, it’s a tough purchase. Smith claims he tried to...

Kevin Smith is coming clean about what really happened with the rights to his 1999 hit film “Dogma.”
The religious satire starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris Rock, and Alan Rickman is currently being “held hostage” by producer Harvey Weinstein, according to the filmmaker. The film is not available to stream online or purchase digitally, while rare Blu-rays sell for roughly 100.
“In order to tell the story, unfortunately, I’m gonna have to say the name that nobody wants to hear anymore. But of course, Harvey Weinstein figures into the story,” Smith told The Wrap when asked about the fate of box office and critical success “Dogma.”
After then-Disney CEO Michael Eisner allegedly told Smith to “not make ‘Dogma'” as it was “too hot button” of a film, Weinstein greenlit the film anyways and eventually sold it to himself and released the movie through his company Shining Excalibur.

The family of a photojournalist held in Syria must raise a multimillion-dollar ransom after the Danish government refuses to negotiate
Over the last couple of decades, Danish cinema has increasingly proved to have a strong aptitude for emotive, nuanced drama and intelligent engagement, particularly through documentary-making, with conflicts abroad. This inspired-by-a-true-story feature, from journeyman director Niels Arden Oplev (who helmed the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo film) skilfully combines those two strands to tell the story of Daniel Rye, a young Danish photographer who was captured by Isis in Syria in 2013.
Filmed in a wiggly, handheld fashion – such a signature of the Dogma 95 years it almost feels like a retro affectation – the plot tracks methodically through Daniel’s story, holding tight on the expressive face of Esben Smed, who rises to the physical challenges of the role. For starters, he has to convincingly pass as Rye when he was...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’ve got the crotch of a dude and a chick…which makes staying home on a Saturday night a lot more fun (think ball-in-a-cup). In 1988, Industrial Light And Magic morphed a tiger into a naked lady and Nxt UK starts now…because when you’re drunk, I’m in charge.
Match #1: Kenny Williams def. Ashton Smith and Amir Jordan – Triple Threat Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Kenny Williams is the final competitor in the Nxt UK Heritage Cup Tournament. Williams overcame Ashton Smith and tag team partner Amir Jordan, pinning Smith after planting him with a gigantic tornado Ddt. Williams will take on Trent Seven in a first-round matchup.
My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – Oh God! It’s coming! I can feel it! Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!! I’m…it’s coming!

So, we have reached the final hurled on this Road to Reboot. We began with Clerks, made our way through Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma, took a turn at Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back last time, and we’ll end it here, with Clerks 2. Of course, Kevin Smith did other movies, films like Zack & Miri Make a Porno, which I’m a fan of, and movies unlike his other work, such as the poorly received Jersey Girl, the oddball horror Tusk, and the, in my opinion, bloody terrible Yoga Hosers [Am I the only Nerdly team member who loved Yoga Hosers then? - Editor Phil]. As we approach the release of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, it seems fitting to end this journey where it began, with Dante and Randall, who likely weren’t meant to be here today.

Kevin Smith is sharing details about a phone call he received from Harvey Weinstein just one week before sexual harassment claims against the producer rocked Hollywood in 2017.
The actor and filmmaker, 49, revealed in a recent interview with Business Insider that Weinstein, whom he had worked with in the past, called him out of the blue after not speaking for over two decades.
“I said, ‘Hey, how are you?’ And he goes, ‘You know, we have Dogma, I just realized, and we got to get it out there again,’ ” Smith recalled.

Kevin Smith spoke to me in my late-teens, making films that echoed my sentiments while also delivering characters and plots that were relatable, hanging out with slackers, losers, down-and-outs, degenerates or nerds in places that ranged from convenience stores to video stores to shopping malls to comic book shops. My memories of his films are deep, but I’ve always had a tough time deciding which one I’d choose as my favourite.
Now, I’m not going to discuss Cop Out, Red State, Tusk, Yoga Hosers, Jersey Girls or even (and I like this one) Zack and Miri Make a Porno here. I’m gonna stick to his View Askew titles that began in 1994 with Clerks and ended (until the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot lands later this year) with Clerks 2 in 2006. 12 years of movies that had the same tone, the same dialogue, some of the same characters and many of the same jokes,...

Eye Injuries on Game of Thrones, Andrew Yang, Julian Assange, and more in today's daily Link Tank!
Here's a ranking of every eye injury on Game of Thrones.
"Like everyone else, I’m excited to see what season 8 of Games of Thrones has in store. Will Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen successfully rule Westeros together? Will Cersei Lannister become the ‘Mad Queen’? And, most importantly, will fan favorite Gendry survive? After giving the series a through re-watch to prepare for the final season, I noticed a dizzying amount of eye injuries. Maybe it’s just because I work in the eye care field, but once you see them, it’s hard to not to notice."
Read more at Ophthalmology Times.
Andrew Yang discussed Ubi and more at his CNN town hall.

It’s one of the most notorious and meme-able clips from the promotional campaign of 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice: Ben Affleck staring despondently into space – seemingly indifferent to his co-star Henry Cavill’s answer – after an interviewer asks for their thoughts on the harsh reviews that the film received. Two years later, this image remains a painful encapsulation of the unfortunate trajectory of the actor’s journey as Batman, which ultimately amounted to two critically derided films that failed to establish the Dceu as a truly sustainable franchise.
But while Affleck’s Caped Crusader probably won’t be remembered as one of the finest big screen portrayals of the iconic character, his old friend Kevin Smith argues that the Gone Girl star’s take on Bruce Wayne was still among the better reasons to watch Batman V Superman and the commercially underwhelming Justice League.
