Miracles From Heaven explores issues of family and faith while telling the true tale of Texan Christy Beam (played by Jennifer Garner) that begins when her 10-year old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) develops horrible stomach pain. The child is initially misdiagnosed, and when her disorder is discovered to be an incurable, and ultimately fatal, digestive disease, Christy finds herself a fierce advocate for Anna’s health. Back home, Christy’s husband Kevin (Martin Henderson) does his best to hold down the fort with their other two daughters while dealing with impending financial stress. After a freak accident involving a hollow tree and a glimpse of God and Heaven, a miracle unfolds that leaves doctors confounded and the Beam’s small-town community inspired.

Following the success of the faith-based "Heaven is for Real" earlier this year, producer T.D. Jakes is planning two new projects.
First up, Sony Pictures will re-team with Jakes and Joe Roth on "Miracles From Heaven," an adaptation of Christy Beam's book "Three Miracles From Heaven" which the studio just scored the film rights to.
Beam's memoir deals with her daughter who suffered from a rare digestive disorder that forced her to eat via feeding tubes and carry colostomy bags. After a several storey fall, she had a near death experience in which she claims to have visited heaven. Shortly after, she was cured of her seemingly incurable condition.
Randy Brown ("Trouble With the Curve") will pen the script and DeVon Franklin will also produce the project which aims to go into production next year.

Putting some increased pressure on the film's screenwriters, new evidence claims that the script for "Trouble with the Curve" was stolen from another writer.
According to Ryan Brooks, Randy Brown stole the piece entitled, "Omaha" and renamed it before it got picked up for the big screen.
In the film starring Clint Eastwood, an ailing baseball scout in his twilight years takes his daughter along for one last recruiting trip.
Though Brown insists he wrote it back in 1997, Brooks hired a team of forensics experts and asserts that the floppy disks have clear signs of manipulation.
One of the disks has a folder named "Trouble w/ Curve" that was created in 1993, which contradicts Brown's claim that he came up with the idea in 1996. Stay linked to GossipCenter to see how the case plays out.

Trouble with the Curve is further evidence that Clint Eastwood isn’t quite ready to bow out of the spotlight just yet. For his latest film, he finally returns to being in front of the camera, while also giving up the directing reigns for the first time in several years.
The film revolves around Gus (Eastwood), a talent scout for a baseball team who is getting up in years. For the first time in four years Clint is back in front of the camera, and it’s a performance that’s also notable because it represents the first time since 1993 that he’s acted in a film that he hasn’t directed himself. His participation in long time collaborator Robert Lorenz’s debut feature reportedly came about when his planned remake of A Star is Born stalled, leaving the prolific director with a gap in his schedule. It’s a role that seems like it must have been written specifically for him nonetheless – Gus is an ageing Major League Baseball scout who refuses to accept he’s no longer up to the task, despite his eyesight beginning to fail. There’s lots of potential for growling and grimacing, and the occasional scene that allows the 82 year-old to do some Acting with a capital A.

Clint Eastwood talked to an empty chair at the Republican National Convention this summer. He begins his new film, Trouble With the Curve, talking to a toilet ... so maybe that was his idea of a clever marketing campaign. Aside from that oddity, the movie is actually a fun, sometimes sober, oddball look at growing older and coming to terms with past regrets.
Penned by first-time writer Randy Brown, Trouble with the Curve is directed by Robert Lorenz, likewise sitting in the director's chair for the first time, though he has assisted on many films.
The story, which could be called an answer to Moneyball, centers around Eastwood's character Gus. An aging baseball scout, Gus operates in a technology vacuum, making him a target for ladder-climbing Phillip Sanderson, played true to type by Matthew Lillard. With the end of his contract nearing, Gus embarks on what may be his last scouting trip.

Chicago – Clint Eastwood keeps going and going. His reputation as an actor is secure in a long career, and his power as a director is Oscar worthy. His ability to recognize a limp script? Not so much, if “Trouble with the Curve” is a gauge. Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake are along for the pitch.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
There is nothing new in this baseball-as-a-metaphor-for-life theme, which had the door closed on it in last year’s superior “Moneyball.” This film mines the same territory, this time the player development is with the Atlanta Braves. Eastwood is a scout rather than a baseball executive, and he has an old school attitude towards the game. He would have been one of the gray beards at the conference table in “Moneyball,” as the modern game passes him by. “Trouble with the Curve” belongs in the studio era of the 1940s, with its simple relationships,...

How many actors could get away with a scene where they sing .You are my Sunshine. to their wife.s grave without audible audience eye-rolling? Not many, but the hoarse-voiced, glaring, grouchy old man Clint Eastwood plays in Trouble With The Curve is a great movie character in one of the best films I.ve seen this year and it’s a typically vigorous and entertaining performance from the 82-year old actor (and the first he.s starred as an actor in somebody else.s film since In The Line Of Fire directed by Wolfgang Petersen, in 1993). Trouble With The Curve is a baseball story, an old-fashioned road movie, and a father-daughter melodrama. It.s flawed and predictable but still great family entertainment filled with emotion, humor, and that terrific career-capping performance from Clint.
Eastwood plays Gus Lobel, a talent scout with the Atlanta Braves three months out from his final contract.

If the Academy Awards gave out a special Oscar for acting in pairs, Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams would certainly win for Robert Lorenz’s Trouble With The Curve. As a father and daughter trying desperately to connect despite their own emotional limitations, Eastwood and Adams dance a graceful, nuanced, and keenly observed acting duet that stands among the greatest pleasures cinema has had to offer this past year. The two rely entirely on one another when they share the screen, each taking as much as they are given and always repaying the other’s efforts in spades.
This surely proves, as if it were ever in doubt, that Adams is a pantheon-level talent to be reckoned with, for I do not imagine going toe-to-toe with Eastwood is easy, especially when the man is in such transcendent form. Clint Eastwood hikes up his pants yet again to play an aging curmudgeon who's every bit as "Get off my lawn" as Gran Torino's Walt Kowalski, but instead of racism he's battling his deteriorating eye sight and his poor parenting skills. As Gus, a scout for the Atlanta Braves, Trouble with the Curve finds Eastwood grumbling his way through a film where he has no time for the "Interweb" or his daughter for that matter. His job is on the line as something called computers (heard of these?) are making scouting baseball talent easier than ever before. Yes, it's old school vs. new school. It's a schlocky anti-Moneyball that turns into a father-daughter story on its way to an overwrought ending. In short, it's insufferable. Chicago – Baseball gets the metaphor-for-life treatment once again in “Trouble with the Curve,’ starring Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams. Eastwood plays an aging baseball scout estranged from his daughter (Adams) and seeks redemption in both arenas of his life. Making his directorial debut is Robert Lorenz, who has worked with Eastwood since “Bridges of Madison County.’
Lorenz is from the Chicagoland area, and made the big move to Los Angeles in the late 1980s, with no connections or job opportunities. If you are a fan of sports-themed films you will probably really like the new poster for the Robert Lorenz-directed baseball drama Trouble with the Curve.
After we saw Clint Eastwood leaning on a fence and watching a baseball game in the first poster, now we have the film’s three main leads: Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake —undersized by an empty baseball stadium.
Eastwood stars as Gus Lobel, an aging baseball scout who enlists the help of his daughter, Mickey, an associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm, played by Amy Adams, for a scouting trip. Each makes new discoveries—revealing long-held truths about their past and present that could change their future.
Written by Randy Brown, the film also stars John Goodman, Robert Patrick, Matthew Lillard, Scott Eastwood, Joe Massingill and will be in theaters September 21st, 2012, perfect for the waning days of the 2012 Mlb regular season.

Despite Clint Eastwood suggested that Gran Torino would be his swansong as an actor, after four years Eastwood has changed his mind and jumped in front of the camera again for Trouble With The Curve.
On the trailer’s evidence, Clint wouldn’t regret his decision.
Robert Lorenz‘s new baseball drama starring Eastwood as an elderly scout joined by Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and Robert Patrick.
Gus (Eastwood) is a famous Atlanta Braves scout facing imminent retirement due to his failing eyesight and old-fashioned methods; he heads out on a road trip to check out a hot prospect (Joe Massingill) with his longtime estranged adult daughter ( Adams) reluctantly coming along out of a ‘dysfunctional sense of responsibility’.
Written by Randy Brown, the Warner Bros. film hits theaters during baseball playoff season, September 21st, 2012.

Check out the new trailer for Clint Eastwood-starrer "Trouble with the Curve," about an aging Atlanta Braves scout (Eastwood) who, despite his failing eyesight, remains determined to take one last recruiting trip. Eastwood's longtime producing partner, Robert Lorenz, makes his directing debut. Luckily, his star, reprising his "Gran Torino" attitude, could help in a pinch. "Trouble with the Curve," written by Randy Brown, co-stars Amy Adams as Eastwood's daughter, Mickey, who reluctantly agrees to help him scout. Matthew Lillard, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake, as a rival scout who takes an interest in Mickey, also have supporting roles. The film releases September 21 (the same weekend Brad Pitt's "Moneyball" opened last year), via Warner Bros. But keep your eyes peeled on Telluride -- this Oscar-friendly flick could have an early debut there.

Fun fact about Clint Eastwood's last performance in "Gran Torino": Despite great reviews and $269 million in worldwide box office, the Hollywood legend was not nominated for Best Actor. Looking back, that's not too hard to believe -- Sean Penn, Mickey Rourke, Brad Pitt, Richard Jenkins and Frank Langella earned worthy nominations at the 81st annual Academy Awards -- but, still: With only four onscreen performances in the last decade, how many more chances will the Academy have to honor Eastwood for what could be a final time?
Thanks to "Trouble With the Curve," at least one more. Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the baseball drama, and it looks like an amalgam of "Gran Torino" and "Moneyball," without the racism of the former and the Moneyball techniques of the latter. In "Curve," Eastwood stars as Gus, an aging baseball scout with failing eyesight who goes out on...

Clint Eastwood returns this year in Trouble with the Curve, the highly-anticipated film that sees the Oscar-winning multi-hyphenate in front of the camera for the first time since 2008’s Gran Torino.
We got our first look at Eastwood alongside co-stars Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake last week, and now the first trailer has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, and it is impeccable.
The official synopsis is still yet to be released, but the basic premise sees Eastwood playing,
“an aging baseball scout, who’s losing his sight, and heads on a last road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a hotshot prospect.”
Starring alongside the leading trio will be John Goodman, Matthew Lillard, Robert Patrick, and newcomer Joe Massingill.
Robert Lorenz, Eastwood’s long-time producing partner/second assistant director on the likes of Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, and Gran Torino, makes his feature directorial debut, with a script by newcomer Randy Brown.

"My father is a baseball scout. I grew up around men who swore, drank, and farted. Trust me, I can handle it." Warner Bros has debuted the first trailer for Robert Lorenz's Trouble with the Curve, the new baseball drama starring Clint Eastwood as an elderly scout in one of his first acting-non-directing roles in a long time. He's joined by Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and Robert Patrick. This honestly looks a lot better than I was expecting, something about Amy Adams and the dialogue, despite that overly-catchy song. It looks like it has a lot of wonderful, fun emotion and great moments. Take a look! Clint Eastwood returns in front of the camera for the first time since 2008’s Gran Torino this year in Trouble with the Curve, a movie we’ve been eagerly looking forward to since it was first announced late last year.
Starring alongside him will be a very promising cast, headed up by the brilliant Amy Adams playing his daughter, as well as Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Matthew Lillard, Robert Patrick, and newcomer Joe Massingill.
And now EW have given us a great first look at Eastwood, Adams, and Timberlake ahead of its release in a few months’ time.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, Trouble With the Curve‘s casting was, at a rather speedy clip, accruing a supporting cast that includes Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Matthew Lillard, Joe Massingill, and Robert Patrick. Although things have slowed down on the next Clint Eastwood-starrer in that brief time since, we have at least one more name to count amongst the grouping.
As Variety informs us, Matt Bush (Adventureland, Piranha 3Dd) will be coming on board as — this made me laugh, for whatever reason — “a pizza delivery boy who develops a relationship with Eastwood’s character after constantly delivering pizzas to him.” Robert Lorenz is directing all of that, while the crux of Randy Brown‘s screenplay follows Eastwood as a near-blind baseball scout who ventures off with his daughter (Adams) to check out a promising young player.
