TheInsider.com caught up with Top Chef: Texas' ousted cheftestant Grayson Schmitz after her wild ride on the hit reality show. From her opinionated thoughts on Last Kitchen to being maxed out by her final episode and even her infamous -- "Like a meatball comment," she had a lot to say!
TheInsider.com: How did it feel to go home when you did?
Grayson Schmitz: Actually, I’m not going to lie, I was completely maxed out at that point when I got eliminated. It is such a physical and mental game that I think towards the end, we were all just dying. I was definitely at peace going home, I was tired. Of course I wish I could have pulled through a little bit longer, maybe get a chance at the big bucks, but I was definitely at peace. As you noticed, I didn’t cry, it was more of saying goodbye to my friends...

If you haven't had a chance to check out Top Chef this season, you seriously need to. Not because of the cheftestants' popularity -- to be honest, the personalities we're seeing this go around in Austin, while pleasant for the most part, are lacking any real flair. There are no Hungs or Carlas or Fabios to root for (and thankfully no real Marcels to hate either) so, minus a few pointless forays into girly cattiness, it's been a fairly drama-free season.
What makes this show's ninth season the best one I've ever seen has nothing to do with who's competing and everything to do with the clever use of recent guest stars Charlize Theron and Paul Reubens (in character as Pee Wee Herman). Am I seriously hinging "The Best Season Ever" on only two episodes? Yeah, I am -- why? Because they were That fucking good.

Grayson Schmitz's big Top Chef adventure came to an end when her stuffed chicken dish for guest judge Pee Wee Herman was deemed... well, we don't really know what. It was big and featured multiple seasonal flavors, but it wasn't under-seasoned or undercooked, like Sarah's or Ed's. "The whole thing is so subjective and I think it was really close, but ultimately they liked mine the least for whatever reason," she tells TVGuide.com. "And that's fine. Someone had to go home and it was me." But the New York-based chef didn't go directly home: She faced off with Beverly on Last Chance Kitchen to win a spot back on the show (the winner will be revealed and will re-enter the competition on next week's episode), which didn't exactly thrill her. Find out why below.
