Joey Fariello was a well-known boxing trainer from the 1960s until his death in 1995 at the age of 58. He got his start training boxers as an assistant to Cus D'Amato. Among the fighters he trained were heavyweight contenders Buster Mathis, Sr., and Buster Mathis, Jr.; light heavyweight champ Jose Torres; WBA welterweight champ Mark Breland; IBF featherweight champ Tom "Boom Boom" Johnson; WBA bantamweight champ/WBO super bantamweight champ Junior Jones; and (former) heavyweight champ Floyd Patterson.
