One of Santa Barbara‘s premiere supercouples will reunite (again) on General Hospital, when Lane Davies, Nancy Lee Grahn’s scene partner on the long-defunct NBC sudser, pays a return visit to the ABC soap — but in a different role.
On NBC’s Santa Barbara, Grahn played legal eagle Julia Wainwright to Davies’ Mason Capwell, the black sheep of the uber-wealthy Capwell clan. An original cast member, Davies parted ways with Santa Barbara in 1989; Grahn, who joined its cast early in its run, stuck with the NBC soap until it went dark in 1993.

American Idol paid tribute to the late Mandisa, the late Season 5 contestant who died earlier this month at the age of 47.
To honor Mandisa’s life, Idol alum Colton Dixon, Melinda Doolittle, and Danny Gokey returned to the stage and performed “Shackles” by Mary Mary.
Mandisa sang “Shackles” as a contestant on American Idol, saying back in 2006 that the song meant a lot to her “because it’s a testimony that there’s nothing too hard for God.”
At the end of the performance, the trio shared some words about Mandisa.
“I’ve known her for over twenty years,” Doolittle said. “We started off singing background in sessions together. And then she got on Idol, and I cheered for her, and I came the next season, and she cheered for me. That is my girl through and through.”
Gokey said that Mandisa “was a fan of people,” adding, “She was...

In January, Colton Dixon celebrated his wedding anniversary with wife Annie, marking one year since the couple made headlines with their decision to save sex for marriage. Now he has a new album—and music video premiering exclusively with People—leading him into spring.
Transitioning from rock into “more of a pop thing,” Dixon says making Identity, his new record out March 24, is the most fun he has had making an album. Split into three sections—mind, body and spirit—the Idol alum says it is a lot of territory to explore, and marriage has influenced a lot of that.

Our American Idol “journey” has come to an end, but let us not weep for what’s been cancelled, let us instead go to iTunes and download the Season 15 winner’s new single. Hey, from a songwriting vantage point, it may not be “Home,” but it definitely ranks above “No Boundaries” and “Inside Your Heaven” — and we bought those, too. And if this show can produce one more bona fide radio/touring superstar, maybe the inevitable reboot will happen sooner than expected, no?

The Boston native is now looking forward to a summer tour with her fellow contestants (whom she now calls her best friends), and a debut album which she is poised to create and can't wait to share. Angie sat down with journalists recently to talk about her experience throughout Season 12 , as well as her unexpected elimination. In this candid interview, she shares her plans for the future, the lessons she's learned, and her love for Candice and Kree. Here's what she had to say. Has the shock worn off? I know I’m still shocked. Yeah. It’s worn off a little yeah. Do you feel that winning Idol would bring you that much more...

Life is not a fairytale. Yes, yes, that was the title of American Idol Season 3 champ Fantasia Barrino’s 2006 autobiographical Lifetime movie — don’t try to act like you didn’t watch it, too! — but it was also a subtitle that could be applied to any possible outcome on Season 12 Top 3 results night.
Indeed, whether you entered the night rooting for a Candice/Kree, Angie/Candice or Kree/Angie finale, there simply couldn’t be a 100 percent feel-good happy ending after the credits rolled, the “19″ logo sparkled and twinkled and Fox switched over to the season finale of Glee.

Look, maybe you and your stepson are right and American Idol has jumped the shark. I accept your wrongness/common sense. But if you tuned in last night to the Top 6's "Burt Bacharach/Songs You Wish You Wrote"-themed evening, you can't deny that it delivered everything that has ever mattered about American Idol, including vocal triumphs, ferocious attitude, the dismal failure of a teenage dandy, Randy Jackson's gift for thoughts, 17-year-olds being forced to perform the songs of Jackie DeShannon, and Ryan Seacrest's attempts at empathy. Every time he nervously puts his hand on Lazaro's shoulder, it's like a deleted scene from Speilberg's A.I. is upon us.
Then there's the other emotionally troubled member of the American Idol brain surgeon gallery: Mariah Carey. I've defended her long enough and still believe she delivers an iota's worth of real advice every 15 minutes or so, but man,...

The April 3 episode of "Arrow," titled "Unfinished Business," sees the deadly drug Vertigo -- and its creator, The Count (Seth Gabel) -- return to plague Starling City.
"Vertigo is back and more dangerous than ever," star Stephen Amell told The Huffington Post at WonderCon. "Because Tommy [Colin Donnell] and I have both had run-ins with the law based on drugs, when we find out that a girl got high on Vertigo in Verdant, I cast a suspicious eye his way and he does not appreciate it -- and nor should he."
Oliver's not the only one who's suspicious of Tommy -- Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) is too; and worse, he's the father of Tommy's current girlfriend, Laurel (Katie Cassidy). Awkward.
"He doesn't really like me in the first place, does he?" Donnell laughed. "There's an accusation from [Lance], and he doesn't exactly have his best friend sticking up for him right away, which really causes a big problem.

Guys, tell me if I've had a little bit too much of Paula Abdul's Percocet margarita, but are we on our way toward all-female top five? I'm both giddy and a little unnerved. Are these results doctored? I'm scared of the truth. But I'm ready for the truth, if it means the Top 5 reign of <3 Amber <3. Or Candice or Not Angie.
Anyway, here are 25 fiiiiine observations from last night's perfectly palatable elimination show.
1. Ryan Seacrest announces this is the 450th episode of Idol. I'm starting to think they'll never resolve that Brian Dunkleman subplot.
2. Uhhh, Lazaro wore white suspenders with a white belt (Nerd alert? Emily Dickinson alert?), a gold bowtie, and a palm tree-emblazoned dress shirt. I hope it was a Holy Thursday outfit, because I sure wanted to crucify him.
3. The top 8 sing the unthinkably dated "That Old Time Rock 'N Roll." My soul = not soothed. If...

After singing the songs of Motown last night, the American Idol Top 8 will learn their fate. One of them will go home on the 450th episode of this epic singing competition.
Former Idol contestants Katherine McPhee and Colton Dixon perform, as will Idol's newest judge Keith Urban. Ready to roll, TV Fanatics?
The opening group number pays tribute to Bob Seger. If I were Bob Seger, I'd want my tribute back. The tempo is all jacked up and this is not the song for funky vocal runs. That was a disaster like just about every other large group number ever on this show.
Moving on to Jimmy's thoughts.
Jimmy said Candice Glover gave the other contestants a lesson in how to perform. She's a natural. Jimmy agreed with Nicki's critique of Janelle and Kree's duet and said Janelle has to work on her ability to harmonize. Lazaro Arbos did...

On the "American Idol" Top 8 performance night, Angie Miller faltered a bit, while Lazaro put forth his best performance in weeks. Will Angie be in trouble?
We doubt it -- Devin is probably headed home. But you never know. However, before we can get to any results, we have to be treated to roller rink anthem "Old Time Rock 'n Roll," complete with Janelle being dressed a truck stop waitress and some kid's-birthday-party-magician puffs of smoke in the background.
Oh, "Idol." Never change.
Then instead of a Ford Music Video, it looks like the Idols are being sent to sing with some kids. Well, that's cool. It's totally cheesy and stuff, but these kids are adorable and we bet that was a lot of fun.
Aretha Franklin has a message for Kree -- "You put that one away and you're not going anywhere." Aww, that's nice.
Colton Dixon's here.

American Idol 2013 Eliminated Devin Velez tonight in March 28th show. Tonight's elimination show ,kicked off with another one of those awful group songs from the final contestants. I swear, I wanted to press mute. Next, they showed the usual recap footage segment of last night's performances with some great critiques from the brutally honest Jimmy Iovine. Next, they revealed that Kree got a special audio message from the Queen Of Soul ,Aretha Franklin, for doing such a great job with her song "Don't Play That Song (You Lied)." Then former Idol contestant ,Colton Dixon, hit the stage to sing one of his new songs called ,"Love Has Come For Me”. Next, One Republic and another former Idol contestant ,Katharine McPhee, hit the stage to sing "If I Lose Myself." After a break, current Idol judge Keith Urban, hit the stage to sing his song, "Long Hot Summer." Then finally, host Ryan Seacrest,...

Practically every second of American Idol provides juicy fodder for conspiracy theorists, paranoid superfans and hardcore cynics on their second glasses of sauvignon blanc.
Take, for example, the Season 12 Top 8 results telecast: As the five remaining ladies and three surviving guys teamed up for a performance of Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll,” I wondered to myself, who’s going to be stuck with the line, “say I’m old-fashioned, say I’m over the hill”? And will that be the tipoff as to who’s walking the plank and joining the “Eighth-Place Club” alongside Jon Peter Lewis,...

This week's "Idol" results are in and Devin Velez is going home.
He sang Perry Como's "It's Impossible" in both English and Spanish, bringing Mariah Carey to tears. Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban were on their feet. However, the judges decided not to keep Devin around, despite the audience chanting, "Save! Save! Save!"
Unsurprisingly, the three remaining men -- Velez, Lazaro Arbos and Burnell Taylor -- wound up in the Bottom 3. After Wednesday night's Detroit-themed performances, many believed the trio of guys would wind up in the bottom. The judges, Nicki Minaj in particular, annihilated their take on The Four Tops "Can't Help Myself." Angie Miller also fell slightly out of the judges' favor with her solo performance of guest mentor Smokey Robinson's "Shop Around."
Kree Harrison was the first contestant to be safe, followed by Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur and Angie Miller.

Or could we be in for an Angie Miller shocker? (No.) The elimination carousel continues on American Idol Thursday, and it's difficult to know what to expect on a number of fronts. The first week of results shows featured Bon Jovi and Phillip Phillips, and we got tons of filler, a top 3, rankings from 4-10 and rapid-fire results. Then last week, featuring Michelle Kwan mini-J-Lo Jessica Sanchez and Casey Abrams, we got a ton of filler, a Bottom three and no rankings at all. Who knows what's on tap tonight?
Actually, there are a couple of things that are certain: Lots of filler, performances by American Idol alum (present company included) and a guy going home. Keith Urban, OneRepublic and Katharine McPhee and Colton Dixon will hit the stage, squeezing in three performances around some form of elimination, as the show once again fails to land any outside superstars.

Dixon, who is on the road as an opening act for Third Day promoting his CD A Messenger, says he is excited to return to the show but was coy about divulging which song he will be performing. Season 12 Impact: The current crop of top 10 finalists won’t see their names on the Billboard charts until season 12 comes to an end, but three of this year’s contestants make an impact this week, thanks to their performances on the first live shows that aired from Las Vegas. Angie Miller should be receiving a large bouquet of flowers from Colton Dixon after performing his hit “Never Again.” Dixon’s original blasts back onto the Christian Digital Songs chart at No. 3. There is even a residual effect on his current single, “You Are,” which jumps 15-

Ten more dames. Ten more billiards lounge renditions of songs that your great-grandmother can safely die to. And about four or five that ruled. Let's rank 'em!
10. Zoanette Johnson, Tina Tuner's "What's Love Got to Do With It?"
Well, here's the good news: Now Lil Rounds can claim her rendition of "What's Love Got to Do With It?" from season eight isn't the single worst version in Idol history. Zoanette is truly a mesmerizing, popcorn-worthy spectacle deserving of P.T. Barnum's time, but you knew she'd fall apart the minute actual singing was required of her. Mariah can claim that her take on "The Circle of Life" worked because of "her backstory" (uh, in Liberia? That's why Zoanette's a natural at crooning about lion birth?), but it was really thanks to the instrumentation's campy grandeur, which tonally matched Zoanette's Wendy Williams-meets-Pagliacci hissy-fit theater.
