Born in Chicago Ill, Breck Jamison started his acting career at the
Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University, where he was featured in
many plays. While in Chicago, he also worked for an avant-garde theater
company and was seen at Sauk Valley College in an original adaptation
of Jerry Kozinki's novel Being There as Chauncy Gardiner.
In addition to his studies at DePaul University, he later went on to
study at Indiana State University and Northern Illinois University. In
between his studies Jamison taught sign language to the deaf and worked
at the Illinois State Institution for the Mentally Ill. Breck has also
studied dance and sang and played with a local Chicago blues band.
In 1984 he made his television debut on As The World Turns, playing the
role of Jay Connors. He won the role over hundreds of other actors in a
coast-to-coat talent search. His time on As The World Turns found
Jamison acting alongside future film stars Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore
and Meg Ryan.
