Nick Robinson will star opposite Kiersey Clemons (“Dope”) in the upcoming feature “The Language of Flowers,” based on the bestselling novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, which spent 69 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list.
Award-winning director Michael Mayer (“The Seagull”) is set to direct the Peter Hutchings’ adaptation. Claude Dal Farra, Brice Dal Farra, and Brian Keady of Bcdf Pictures serve as producers.
“The Language of Flowers” will go into production this summer, shooting in South Africa and San Francisco. Mister Smith Entertainment is handling international sales and will introduce the title to buyers at next week’s Cannes Film Market.
UTA and Mister Smith Entertainment will co-represent North American rights.

Agc Studios has acquired the life rights to Wall Street trader Lauren Simmons’ life story.
The indie studio views the project as a starring vehicle for Kiersey Clemons (“Dope”). Agc was launched last year by former Im Global founder Stuart Ford. Its projects include Laika Animation’s ‘Missing Link,” the Gabrielle Union romantic comedy “The Perfect Find,” and the Roland Emmerich World War II epic “Midway.”
Clemons will also produce the film. The 23-year old Simmons made history as the youngest woman to ever be on the floor of the NYSE, and only the second African American female to trade full-time. Clemons’ recently appeared in “Hearts Beat Loud,” an indie drama, and will next be seen in Disney’s CGI and live action remake of “Lady and the Tramp,” as well as Fox’s live broadcast of “Rent.”

AGC Studios announced on Tuesday that it’s acquired the life rights for the story of Lauren Simmons, they youngest female trader to work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
The studio has set the project up for Kiersey Clemons to produce and star in the film.

Rising star Kiersey Clemons has joined Gael García Bernal on Jonás Cuarón’s Zorro re-imagining Z, which Pantelion International is selling at the Efm.
Three years after Clemons appeared in Sundance 2015 selection Dope, she returned triumphantly to Park City last month with Hearts Beat Loud, which sparked an international deal with Sony and a North American sale to Gunpowder & Sky.
She will next star in the TBS crime comedy series Angie Tribeca, and is cast opposite Ezra Miller in DC Entertainment’s 2020 tentpole Flashpoint.
