Based in Toronto and originally from Guelph, Ontario, Candice Gilliam is an accomplished actor with a passion for comedy. She holds an honours diploma in Comedy: Writing & Performance from Humber College in Toronto. For five years, Candice dedicated herself as a Vice President of Players Toronto (formerly Queen's Players Toronto), a charitable theatre company known for its sketch comedy musical shows. Candice also performed in 8 main-stage Players shows, 3 one-night sketch shows, and directed 1 show.
Candice's fondness for comedy blossomed early in life, thanks to her father introducing her to a diverse range of comedic content. Always a natural entertainer, she constantly sought to bring laughter to those around her. As a teenager, Candice discovered her passion for singing and musical theatre. This newfound interest led her to portray iconic characters like Annie Oakley, Rizzo, and Aunt Eller, among others, showcasing her talent for comedic roles. Through these experiences, Candice came to realize that her ultimate aspiration was to excel as a character actor.
