Back in November of 2021, Marvel Studios announced they were making an animated Spider-Man series for the Disney+ streaming service that would be called Spider-Man: Freshman Year (with a second season that would be called Spider-Man: Sophomore Year). Now they’ve revealed that the show has undergone a title change and will instead be known as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Along with that title change information, they have also announced that they’re making a Black Panther spin-off animated series for Disney+ that will be called Eyes of Wakanda!
This news came out of a press screening for the first two episodes of What If…? season 2, which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on December 22nd. SuperHeroHype reports that attendees were shown a sneak peek of Marvel’s 2024 slate of Disney+ animated shows, and that line-up included Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda, and X-Men ’97. Jennifer Lopez felt “very empowered” by her latest role in “The Mother”.
In the upcoming Netflix film, the actress portrays “a deadly female assassin” who will do anything to save her daughter “while on the run from dangerous men,” as per the official synopsis.
For the role, Lopez, 53, took on a great amount of physical training including weapon training and fight training, as well as learning how to ride a motorcycle and a snowmobile.
She told Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman that taking on the role of the Mother felt “very empowering.”
