Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece, experienced the most significant growth in his strength during the time skip. After losing his brother Ace and almost losing his crew during the Sabaody Archipelago arc, Luffy decided that he and his crewmates needed to grow their strength to face the upcoming opponents.
Strawhat Pirates in One Piece
Time Skip is one of the greatest narrative aspects used by manga creators like Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto. Although the major role of a time skip is to fast-forward a narrative, they also tend to improve the strength and abilities of the main characters. The only problem with them is that they also increase the age of the characters.
However, Oda, in one of his interviews, revealed how he tackled this problem. He intentionally introduced the two-year time skip so that Luffy and his crew wouldn’t grow too much in age...

Eiichiro Oda has crafted the One Piece world so intricately that fans can’t help but come up with countless theories behind every instance. The fact that Oda loves playing with dramatic twists and foreshadowing makes fans even more eager to figure out easter eggs.
But rarely do you come across a fan theory that will blow your mind. However, a crazy One Piece fan theory draws parallels between Blackbeard and Shakespeare’s play Macbeth to explain Blackbeard’s future conquests.
Consequently, it also explains several of Blackbeard’s character traits, like his consumption of more than one Devil Fruit and his inability to sleep.

Luffy might be famous for his brave deeds, the endless kindness in his heart, and his inhalation of food like a black hole in One Piece. But the one thing he isn’t interested in is perverted adventures. When it comes to women, he is the complete opposite of Sanji.
Even when Boa Hancock fell head over heels for Luffy, he did not break character for a second. So when fans observed him getting a nosebleed over Nami, a lot of questions arose in their minds. Did Luffy have a crush on Nami? Does she really look that amazing?

Ever since its debut on April 13, 2005, the Vinland Saga manga by Makoto Yukimura has consistently managed to remain among the top-tier manga series currently being published. The series is both a shōnen and a seinen work, as it effectively combines traditional elements from both groups. Yukimura has put a lot of effort into creating the manga, and while we’re dealing with a situation in which a Japanese man is writing about Vikings, we can only compliment him on the historical accuracy and the research he has put into crafting this amazing and highly popular world of his.
But, while the anime series boosted the popularity of the manga and made it known to a much wider audience, it seems – according to Yukimura himself – that the manga is going to end relatively soon. Don’t worry, we don’t have a date just yet, so it is going to be around for a while,...

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has been a huge success since its serialization in 1997. The series earned a place as one of “The Big Three” works that became the pillar of Shonen Jump. However, the series has not always been so popular. When the series was first released, Oda and One Piece had quite a lot of haters who believed the series would be an epic failure.
Straw Hat Pirates (Credit: Toei Animation)
One of these haters was Dragon Ball’s first editor Kazuhiko Torishima who worked at Shueisha in 1976 and currently is the outside director at Bushiroad. Torishima worked closely with Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, and Dr. Slump and was one of the main reasons why Dragon Ball became a huge success.
But Torishima had no trust in Oda or One Piece. He openly criticized One Piece and believed that it wouldn’t amount to anything.

Kagurabachi and One Piece are not really connected, aside from being shonen works published by the same publisher in Japan. But, while the similarities are not that numerous, Kagurabachi author Takeru Hokazono has decided to pay tribute to Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece in the most recent chapter of his popular manga by having the protagonist of his manga, Chihiro Rokuhira, recreate Roronoa Zoro’s swordsmanship style from Oda’s series.
Such tributes are not uncommon in the world of manga; numerous authors have openly admitted to paying tribute to Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball in their works, regardless of the fact that their works have little in common with Toriyama’s, so this doesn’t come as a surprise. So, what are we actually dealing with here?

Most Shonen heroes are missing a mother, or at least one who shows up in the series. It happened with Bleach, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, and countless other series in which parents are no-shows. So of course, One Piece did not escape the curse either.
While Luffy’s father, Monkey D. Dragon, is an essential part of the storyline, his mother is never seen or mentioned. Any normal person would think about their mother once or twice, but not Luffy!
This led fans to think that either Eiichiro Oda sees no value in discussing Luffy’s mom or she is such a strong driving force behind the plot that she must stay hidden until absolutely necessary.

One Piece began in 1999, and numerous things have changed since then, including the story’s pacing, animation, chemistry, etc. During this time, the manga and anime industry also became mainstream.
The different arcs in One Piece portray several types of emotions. One of the best arcs in Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus is the Marineford Arc. The Paramount War was a rollercoaster ride of emotions with Monkey D. Luffy and Whitebeard Pirates trying to save Portgas D. Ace from getting executed by the Marines. Even though it was such a fan-favorite arc, it was nothing compared to what Oda sensei has in store for us.

The cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, and one of the strongest members of the crew, Vinsmoke Sanji, or as the One Piece world knows him, Black Leg Sanji, has been proving his strength as one of the wings of the Future Pirate King for quite some time now. He has made quite a name for himself since the beginning of the series.
Sanji – One Piece
The only problem with the character however is, that whenever the crew gets a power-up, he is placed third on the list. This means that as compared to Luffy and Zoro, he will always be a step behind in terms of strength no matter what. The perfect example of this is the growth in the Haki abilities of the crew.
Eiichiro Oda has already disclosed that both Luffy and Zoro have the Conqueror’s Haki, which is considered to be the strongest Haki ability in One Piece.

The wings of the Future Pirate King, Roronoa Zoro, and Vinsmoke Sanji might be in the same crew, but as One Piece fans know, they do not see eye to eye with each other. They have been at each other’s throats since the beginning of the series and this rivalry has only gotten stronger since then.
Sanji and Zoro
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece has introduced many rivalries in the series, however, none are as interesting as Zoro and Sanji’s rivalry. Eiichiro Oda has created a vast world in One Piece, and generously sprinkled easter eggs all over the plot. Plot twists that no one could see were in the works for hundreds of chapters. Naturally, the One Piece fam is extra vigilant, and one of the theories is enough to stop you in your tracks.
Crocodile, the once powerful Shichibukai, is well known as the organizer of the crime syndicate, Baroque Works. In One Piece forums, he is also popular as ‘Croco-mom.’ Fans constructed the story behind Croco-mom in the late 2000s and it has gained more and more followers since then.
However, an Sbs interview with Eiichiro Oda suddenly refreshed fans’ memories of Crocodile’s gender bender theory.

Akira Toriyama’s unique art style is one of the most iconic in today’s times. It stands out in ways that make it recognizable to even the most novice anime fans. Dragon Ball’s distinctive style of drawing has unmistakably become its own form of art in a way. When it comes to the most iconic anime in the world, the list can go on and on, but it would be incomplete without two significant works; Dragon Ball and One Piece. For years, Eiichiro Oda has come to praise Akira Toriyama for the masterpiece that shook the world. He has gained popularity not just in the eyes of the audience but also that of other renowned mangakas as well.
Luffy using Kaido as Jump Rope
Honoring the fact that the two had great respect for each other, they often wrote anecdotes about one another, giving boosts of confidence neither knew they needed. Toriyama’s untimely passing came as a sudden sorrowful surprise to either world, making it seem as if a part of what made it whole was taken away in an instant.

In recent times, anime and manga have started to bring about cultural shifts in the realm of wider pop culture and even entertainment in general. And leading this revolution is none other than Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece.
A still from One Piece
This revolution has only been strengthened with the release of Netflix’s One Piece live-action, which through defying the curse of former anime adaptions failing hard in execution, made a splash with both new and old fans of the manga and the animation.
Although this seems to have been a beacon of hope for live-action adaptations of the future, if Oda had never seen the 2001 action/sports film Shaolin Soccer, he may have never been convinced that his creation could be developed in the real world for the silver screen.

Before “Game of Thrones,” there was “Shōgun.”
Both are bestselling novels about a factional war between regents/kings to determine who will sit on a recently usurped throne … but James Clavell’s “Shōgun” was published in 1975, 21 years before George R. R. Martin’s “A Game of Thrones” hit bookshelves. Both became pop culture juggernauts with an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Peabody Award-winning television adaptation that was so popular that restaurants reported a dip in sales whenever an episode aired … but “Shōgun’s” first adaptation premiered in 1980, “Thrones” in 2012. Both draw on real life history to craft dramatic stories, but “Game of Thrones” is a fantasy and “Shōgun” is historical fiction. Kind of.
