AMC Networks has unveiled a slew of renewals across its streaming services.
Kin, Bloodlands, My Life Is Murder, Creepshow and Slasher have all been picked up for additional seasons.
Slasher, which airs on Shudder, has also set Will & Grace’s Eric McCormack as lead on its latest installment, Slasher: Ripper.
The series, which has been renewed for its fifth season, is heading back in time to the late 19th century — there’s a killer stalking the mean streets, but instead of targeting the poor and downtrodden like Jack the Ripper, The Widow is meting out justice against the rich and powerful. The only person standing in the way of this killer is the newly promoted detective, Kenneth Rijkers, whose ironclad belief in justice may wind up being yet another victim.

Syfy is taking another comedic look at a zombie apocalypse.
The cabler unveiled the first trailer for its forthcoming scripted series, Day of the Dead, and it looks like a lot of fun.
From Abbott Street Films and Cartel Entertainment, the 10-episode series focuses on a town coming together when the dead comes back.
Instead of going the serious route like The Walking Dead and Black Summer, the trailer has the comedic approach of the original movie.
"Kiss my saggy ass," says one woman before she blows a building up.
There are many great scenes in the trailer, but it's very reminiscent of Z Nation, which managed to balance the humor and the horror very well.
"Day of the Dead follows a group of strangers trying to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion," reads the logline.
"This ode to George A. Romero’s famous flesh-eaters reminds us that...

Syfy has given 10-episode straight-to series orders to Day of the Dead, based on George A. Romero’s classic zombie film, from Cartel Entertainment (Creepshow); and The Surrealtor, from Blue Ice Pictures (Ginny and Georgia). Both are expected to air on Syfy in 2021.
The Day of the Dead order follows the straight-to-series pickup by Syfy of another classic horror movie title, Chucky, as the network continues to expand its slate into the horror genre. Syfy has been investing in high-end scripted content with a focus on edgy, younger-skewing shows with off-kilter sensibility, including comic book adaptations.

Creepshow is coming to AMC Networks’ Shudder. The premium streaming service has given the green light to a Creepshow TV series, based on the iconic anthology film written by Stephen King and directed by George Romero, for premiere in 2019. The Walking Dead helmer Greg Nicotero is attached to direct, executive produce and oversee the show’s creative elements.
The 1982 film, with stars such as Hal Holbrook, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson and Adrienne Barbeau, spawned two sequel films and a spin-off comic.
Producers say the new Creepshow series will fulfill the promise of the original film’s tagline “The Most Fun You’ll Ever Have Being Scared.” Each episode of the anthology series will tell original fun and scary stories, and will be helmed by a different director, with Nicotero directing the first episode and his Oscar- and multiple Emmy-winning company Knb Efx Group Inc. handling the creature and make-up fx.
