Spears is an Irish thriller and the second feature film from director Gerard Lough – the man behind 2015’s critically acclaimed horror Night People. Shot in four different countries, this ambitious independent production will have a much larger scope than his first feature. With its moody atmosphere and pervading sense of paranoia, the film will be very much be rooted in the Neo-Noir style and explore topical themes both political and technological.
Aidan O’Sullivan, Bobby Calloway and Nigel Brennan head up an international cast that also includes Michael Parle, Yalda Shahidi, Rebecca Rose Flynn and Thomas Sharkey.

Starting in a manner reminiscent of recent anthology horror V/H/S, two shifty types break into a house with a plan to burn it to the ground. While they wait for their window of opportunity, they entertain themselves by telling creepy stories. Two thieves tell each other eerie stories to pass the time in Gerard Lough’s Night People, a new anthology film hitting VOD on May 9th. For our latest Q&A feature, we caught up with Lough to discuss the making of his directorial feature film debut.
