Exclusive: XYZ Films is launching world sales on thriller Accused, the next film from UK filmmaker Philip Barantini whose Boiling Point was recently nominated for four BAFTAs including Outstanding British Film.
The Three Little Birds and Sunrise Films production is due to start on February 28 in the UK with XYZ financing and executive-producing.
The film stars Chaneil Kular (Sex Education) and Lauryn Ajufo, BIFA-nominated for her breakout role in Barantini’s Boiling Point.
In Accused, after he’s falsely accused of being a wanted terrorist by a group of internet sleuths, Harri Bavshar (Kular) must defend himself when death threats and abuse quickly turn into a fight for survival against a deadly home invasion.

A group of top British talent agents are convening to create a working group tackling issues of race faced by actors of color in the U.K.
The collective of agents are part of the Personal Managers’ Association (Pma), an organization comprised of 180 member agencies, including Curtis Brown, 42 Management and Identity Agency Group — all of whom represent actors, writers and directors working in film, television, theater and radio.
Initially formed during the summer of 2020 in response to the Black Lives Matter protests, the group includes Julianna Bautista and Ikki El-Amriti (Identity Agency Group), Dawn Green (Creative Artists Management), Sharon Henry (Sharon Henry Management), Sara Sehdev (Core Mgmt), Keana-Marie Senior (Victoria Lepper Associates) and Mildred Yuan (United Agents).

New U.K. production company Three Little Birds Pictures has been launched by actor-director Philip Barantini, financial controller Samantha Warham and talent representative Sara Sehdev.
The London and Liverpool-based company’s first co-production, Barantini-helmed “Boiling Point,” stars British talent including “The Irishman” and “Save Me’s” Stephen Graham, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’s” Hannah Walters, “The A Word’s” Vinette Robinson, “Pennyworth” and “Jamestown’s” Jason Flemyng, “Gangs of London’s” Ray Panthaki, and “Curfew’s” Malachi Kirby.
The feature, about a talented head chef wrangling his team on the busiest day of the year, was one of the last productions to finish shooting in the U.K. prior to the coronavirus lockdown. It is based on the Bifa-nominated short of the same name, and is produced with Ascendant Films, Burton Fox Films and Graham/Walters’ company Matriarch.

Actor Stephen Graham’s first project under his newly launched production banner, “Boiling Point,” has rounded out its cast with “Military Wives” actor Jason Flemyng and a host of others.
The actor, whose credits include film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and Sky Atlantic series “Save Me,” will be joined by Taz Skylar, Ray Panthaki and Malachi Kirby.
They joined previously announced cast members, including Graham and Vinette Robinson.
As revealed by Variety, “Boiling Point” will see Graham playing a head chef navigating the relentless pressure of his kitchen. Production began on the film this week.
The “Irishman” actor formed Matriarch with his partner, actor Hannah Walters, with a remit of providing a platform to underrepresented voices and stories out of the U.K.
