The very idea of a new version of The Crow sparked plenty of outrage online, with fans of the Brandon Lee original saying no one could possibly replace him. Things only got worse when images of Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven dropped, prompting negative responses from fans and even the original’s director, Alex Proyas. As we await The Crow’s August release, Skarsgård himself has his own thoughts on the movie…and they’re not exactly positive, either.
In a new profile in Esquire, Bill Skarsgård said that the ending of The Crow is far from satisfying, declaring, “I personally preferred something more definitive.” This would suggest that Rupert Sanders’ movie teases something more open-ended, quite possibly attempting to set up a sequel to fully reboot the franchise. Did Sanders not see the other Crow movies…?

It didn’t take long for the live-action of The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey to become a hit amongst the fans. Not only did it win over the video game aficionados but it also roped in a lot of fresh fans who have never played the game before. On Rotten Tomatoes, season one stands at a high score of 96% meaning that the post-apocalyptic series was loved by both fans and critics.
The Last of Us Season 1 | HBO
Those who have played the video game in its entirety know what the future brings for Pedro Pascal’s Joel and though inevitable, it’s just heart-wrenching! Now, The Last of Us has been a spot-on adaptation, staying faithful to the video game most of the time. However, there is a little deviation in the HBO series regarding Joel’s age which will make the next season even more heartbreaking.

The Planet Of The Apes franchise has seen five feature films from the original movies, one from Tim Burton in 2001, a successful prequel series starring the amazing Andy Serkis, a live-action television series, an animated Saturday morning series, comic books, trading cards, action figures, you name it.
50 years ago in 1974 20th Century Fox came up with the clever idea to offer all five movies at once to select movie theaters, and program them together as a “Go Ape!” movie marathon.
Inventive marketing at the time, the films starred the incomparable Roddy McDowall, who played Cornelius and Caesar, in 4 out of the 5 movies. All the movies can now be found on streaming services.
In 2024, Pota fans were offered the chance to see the film on May 8th at the special Fan Event and “Go Ape” again!

The summer movie season is here. After a frankly terrible start to the box office in 2024, all eyes are now on everything from "The Fall Guy" to "Deadpool & Wolverine" to give movie theaters a reason to celebrate. As far as May goes, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" looks to get things moving in the right direction, being the first entry in the franchise in seven years. We've got a new filmmaker, a new cast, a new timeline, and a new reason to believe that this classic sci-fi property will once again find life more than 55 years after the original film debuted in 1968.
Current tracking suggests that "Kingdom" will open between $54 and $61 million domestically, per Deadline. Assuming that holds, it would be a damn fine start for the film. While the budget has yet to be revealed, it is said to be in the $120 million range. Disney and...

Coi Leray has dropped a new single, “Wanna Come Thru.” The sultry track, produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, marks her first release for new label Island Records.
“This song is about me on my grown and sexy,” Leray explained in a statement. “Grown and sexy means being so in love with yourself — that it is one of the most sexiest, maturest, grownest things that a woman can do. As you get older and you tap into your womanhood and your femininity and I feel like you should embrace that.

The 2015 survival horror Until Dawn is the latest in a glut of videogame to film adaptations. It’ll be directed by the chap who did Shazam!
All arguments about its merits as a film aside, the huge commercial success of Universal’s Five Nights At Freddy’s seems to have formed the blueprint for IP-hungry studios in a world where endless sequels and superhero films are no longer a sure thing.
Following a year where conventional Hollywood ‘wisdom’ was turned on its head, the conversation continues as to what will be the next sure-fire money maker for studios: movies about toys or products? Projects based on video games? Maybe even original stories containing bold ideas made by talented filmmakers?
Naturally, we’re all hoping for the latter but of course, studios are keen to cover all of their bases, and in the wake of Five Nights At Freddy’s huge...

The Repair Shop outfit Ricochet has signed up British indie vet Damon Pattison as its Creative Director. Reporting to MD Joanna Ball, Pattison will be responsible for developing, pitching and securing new commissions across all genres for the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed outfit. Pattison, who replaces Katy Thorogood, most recently ran Banijay-backed Beyond’s UK production arm but it was shuttered last year. He previously worked for BBC Studios and Keo Films, and set up Lucky Day Productions in 2007, which was sold to Zodiak Media Group. Ricochet makes smash BBC series The Repair Shop along with the likes of Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped and Discovery’s Woodland Workshop. “Damon’s experience, energy and creativity, is precisely what we need in a Creative Director,” said Ball.

Rappers Cardi B and Offset are very much a part of each other’s lives. Although the ‘Wap’ rapper, 31, confirmed that she and the ‘Need It’ musician, 32, had split earlier this month, they were spotted spending time together in New York City.

“Luckyyyme”, the fan captioned the post, which tagged each artiste.
At the start of December, Cardi confirmed that she’s been “single for a minute now,” during an Instagram Live video. She didn’t acknowledge when she and Offset officially parted ways, only that she was no longer in a relationship.
“I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings (sic),” she said.

The remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) that’s coming our way from The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers was first announced back in 2015. Viewers have been given three cult leaders as examples of those who master the above-mentioned aspects, but somewhere they lost grip on them and fell flat. The fourth episode brings to light another aspect of the cult leaders, which is making promises of another kind that convince the members to stay with the group till salvation is achieved.
Marshall Applewhite, aka Do, and his partner Bonnie Lu Nettles, aka It, were instrumental in forming Heaven’s Gate, a cult that was a mixture of science fiction, Christianity, and new-age mysticism, where the group leaders initially promised eternity to followers who joined the group. The group managed to convince a good number of people that they were aliens from the Next Level and were not humans. They are destined...

Most sequels have a tough enough job just living up to their first movie, and this one would have had a big enough job just being a sequel to the original Shazam! What director David F. Sandberg’s first movie had was the novelty of the story of a boy having the power to just speak a magic word and finding himself in his now adult “ultimate form”, plus the power of being nearly Superman’s equal (some would argue even more), a fun novelty super hero movie. The story also had the subplot of young Billy Batson’s quest to find his mother after having been in foster homes his whole life, only to realize that the foster home he is in has provided him with the family he really needed by the end of the movie. In the end, he creates the Shazam family,...

Bengaluru, March 9 (Ians) The Centre on Thursday presented the formal outline of the Digital India Act, 2023 where the government is mulling to remove the safe harbour provision for internet intermediaries.
Minister of State for Electronics and It Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the logic behind safe harbour “was that internet platforms have absolutely no power or control over the content that some other consumer creates”.
“But in this day and age, is that really necessary? Is that safe harbour required?” Chandrasekhar asked.
The safe harbour provision gives internet intermediaries legal immunity against content shared by users on the platforms. It was part of the old It Act, 2000.
“The law should be a principles-based rule providing a framework with very sound principles that can then be used to develop rules in the future,” said the minister during a consultation with the stakeholders on the Digital India Act.

New Delhi, Dec 12 (Ians) Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Monday urged the government to ensure protection of sensitive personal data and take measures to prevent cyber attacks similar to the one launched on Aiims Delhi’s servers.

Pairing wine with movies! See the trailers and hear the fascinating commentary for these movies, and many more, at Trailers From Hell. This week, we have three films which feature the swingin’ sounds of the big bands, and a wine pairing for each.
The music we are dealing with this time is more than soundtrack fodder or score. The music is the focal point. We’re going back decades to relive the sounds that were “a hit before your mother was born.” Maybe even before your grandmother.
In 1942’s Orchestra Wives, Glenn Miller plays the leader of a big band. It wasn’t a stretch for him, since that’s what he was in real life. The story centers on the jealousy that arises in one of the musicians’ wives due to his previous relationship with the cute little singer in the orchestra. It’s a malaise that soon infects the whole band,...
