In the overwhelming plethora of yakuza movies that were produced from the Japanese movie industry, we have seen movies that portray the gangsters as heroic, as losers, or as they actually are, in a rather realistically dramatic fashion that has become more prevalent during the latest years. It is very rare, however, to watch a film of the category where the protagonist is a rather cunning coward, who spends all his energy trying to avoid becoming part of the action. This is exactly what happens in “Like a Rolling Stone” however, a film that also moves into drama/erotic paths and managed to win a plethora of local awards, mostly for the direction and the main protagonist, Eiji Okuda.

Tokyo Appointment
Noted Japanese director Ando Momoko has been named as the ambassador for this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival.
She also features, alongside her father Okuda Eiji in the festival’s newly-released poster, which recreates a scene from Ozu Yasujiro’s “Tokyo Story” and in which Okuda and Ando represent the classic film’s Ryu Chishu and Hara Setsuko characters. The poster image, shot at the rooftop garden of Kitte Marunouchi Building, with Tokyo Station in the background, was designed by Koshino Junko, who has created the festival’s key visuals for the past three years.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot developments in Season 3, Episode 9 of “Star Trek: Picard,” currently streaming on Paramount+.
All season long, the producers of “Star Trek: Picard” have boldly pulled out all the stops to make the third and final season one for the books. To that extent, it seemed like only a matter of time until we finally got to see the Enterprise — that is, the Enterprise-d, the Galaxy-class starship that made its first appearance in 1987 with the premiere episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
That moment of truth finally came at the end of “Vox” — the 9th and penultimate episode of Season 3 — when the reunited bridge crew took their stations on the Enterprise-d, which turns out to be the only Federation starship capable of resisting assimilation by the powerful Borg.
Executive producer Terry Matalas went through hoops to make sure history never forgot the name Enterprise.

Nearly a year has gone by since Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the showrunners of the Showtime series Yellowjackets, told Variety that they were calling season 2 of the series “The Winter of Their Discontent.” Yellowjackets season 2 is now set to begin airing on March 26th, and a poster has arrived online to offer a preview of this crazy winter. You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis star in Yellowjackets, which is is described as “equal parts survival epic, horror story, and coming-of-age drama.” The story centers on a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The series will chronicle their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring, cannibalistic clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later,...

Yellowjackets fans have been wondering if the character Van Palmer survived to reach adulthood… and Showtime has gone ahead and answered the question by announcing that we will indeed be seeing adult Van in Yellowjackets season 2. And she’s going to be played by Lauren Ambrose (Servant).
The teenage Van will also benefit from the addition of adult Van to the show, as Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet) – who plays teen Van – has officially been promoted to series regular for season 2.
