- In 2016, Mariota completed 276 of 451 passes for 3,426 yards and ranked fourth in the AFC and 10th in the NFL with a 95.6 passer rating and sixth in the AFC and tied for 10th in the NFL with 26 touchdown passes. He was named first alternate for the Pro Bowl but was unable to play because of injury.
- During his rookie season, Mariota completed 230 of his 370 passes for 2,818 yards, 19 touchdowns-all franchise rookie records-while throwing only 10 interceptions. His 91.5 passer rating ranks third in franchise history behind only Steve McNair's 2003 MVP season (100.4) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon's 1990 AP Offensive Player of the Year campaign (96.8).
- Prior to Mariota in 2015, the last NFL player to record touchdowns of at least 40 yards passing, rushing and receiving in the same season was Walter Payton in 1983.
- Mariota's 16 games with at least two touchdown passes in his first two NFL seasons tied for third all-time in the NFL, equaling Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson and trailing only Dan Marino (22) and Derek Carr (17).
- At the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, he finished among the top three quarterbacks in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle. His 4.52-second 40-yard dash gave him the fastest quarterback time at the Combine since Robert Griffin III's 4.41 in 2012.
