Joshua Bruce(I)
- Actor
- Director
- Cinematographer
His interest in film began at a young age, when his father showed him
various films from the 1980s, all on video cassette. At age 7, he was
given a camcorder as a birthday present, and began making short films.
Around the age of 14, his interest in VHS and the films of his
childhood resurfaced, influencing the genres he toyed with. After
several fake trailers in middle school, he started his first feature
film at age 15, Burn in Hell, originally intended as a short. Bruce
often references films of the 1980s in his work, utilizing film grain,
VHS wear, and colorful, gritty poster art to sell the nostalgia.
