Next year will mark the fifth anniversary of when readers were first introduced to the monsters (and monster slayers) of Archer's Peak in Something is Killing the Children, and just before the end of this year, James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera, are inviting readers to step back into the Slaughterverse with Book of Butcher #1. Building upon the events of last year's Book of Slaughter #1 and following Maxine Slaughter on her journey to New Orleans to investigate House Boucher, Book of Butcher #1 will be released on December 27th from Boom! Studios, and we've been provided with an exclusive look at artwork from the anticipated issue!
Below, you can see a tense meeting take place in our exclusive preview of Werther Dell’Edera's excellent artwork (colored by Miquel Muerto) from Book of Butcher #1, and we also have a look at the amazing cover art for the new issue as well as...

DC Comics' "Fire and Ice: Welcome to Smallville", available November 2023, is written by Joanne Starer and illustrated by Natacha Bustos. with covers by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson:
"...things could not possibly be worse for 'Fire and Ice'. 'Superman' sent the former 'Justice Leaguers' packing for 'Smallville' following an extremely public and utterly disastrous mission, that was all the fault of 'Guy Gardner' and in doing so doomed them to a fate worse than death: irrelevance.
"Now 'Ice' finds herself drawn to the quiet life and dreams of planting roots. But 'Fire'…well, Fire will do just about anything to get the heck outta Dodge and back on the hero circuit—including challenging the Dcu’s biggest villains to a knock-down, drag-out, live-streamed brawl in the streets of Smallville..."

[Editor's Note: Welcome to Archie's House of Horror! We're thrilled and chilled to team up with Archie Comics for this new recurring column written by Jamie L. Rotante, writer and Senior Director of Editorial at Archie Comics. Each column takes a closer look at the terrifying themes and eerie inspirations found within the pages of the ever-expanding world of Archie Horror, with this month's column focusing on the festive frights and seasonal scares of the new one-shot anthology Happy Horror Days.]
Christmas is a terrifying time.
And no, I don’t mean it in the commercialist and capitalistic sense, but the roots of Christmas are actually pretty gosh darn spooky. The Christmas we know of today (both sacred and secular) stemmed from a winter solstice celebration filled with revelry and debauchery. It was a time of transition, warding away evil spirits and witches, telling spooky stories by candlelight, and by going door-to-door, not to sing jovial carols, but to play tricks and wear costumes.
Sound familiar?...

Long before I started watching the delightfully deadly adventures of Riverdale, I spent many mornings watching Archie and the gang deal with everything from zombies and vampires to time machines and extraterrestrials on the animated series Archie's Weird Mysteries.
So, when Archie Comics unveiled their upcoming Halloween season one-shots, I was especially thrilled to see them pay tribute to the beloved cult show with the announcement of Chilling Adventures Presents... Weirder Mysteries, and ahead of the one-shot's release this fall, we're excited to exclusively reveal a preview of the amazing artwork featured in two of the anthology's eerie tales!
Below, you can check out our exclusive preview of Federico Sabbatini's artwork for the Weirder Mysteries story "Betty Cooper: Alien Hunter" (written by Frank Tieri) as well as Ryan Jampole's artwork for "A Wrinkle in Time" (written by Joanne Starer)!
