When Season 2 of Netflix’s sci-fi series Raising Dion (based on the comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu) begins, two years have passed since the young superhero in training (Ja’Siah Young) defeated the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter). But when his loving mother Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) says everything is normal, should we believe her? I mean, does she even believe that? “I think human beings, they adapt to new normals all the time,” explains Wainwright. “I think if you constantly feel like your life is in chaos, you can’t settle down and move forward, so, yeah, I think to a degree she’s like ‘This is my new normal!'” Dion, however, is still a kid with superhero powers that need to be trained and explored. So enter new character Tevin (With Love‘s Rome Flynn), a Biona trainer brought in to help Dion get a handle on his capabilities.

Netflix's "Raising Dion" returns for its second season in February, and based on the trailer, it'll be action packed with new allies and old enemies throwing 10-year-old Dion (Ja'Siah Young) for a loop.
The Michael B. Jordan-produced coming-of-age series - based on Dennis Liu's 2015 comic book and short film - will continue to follow Dion as he gets the hang of his superpowers with some help from his new Biona trainer/mentor, Tevin (Rome Flynn), as well as the Triangle of Justice, made up of his friends Esperanza (Sammi Haney) and Jonathan (Gavin Munn).
It's been over two years since the show first premiered on Netflix, meaning it's also been a while since we've seen Dion and his special powers in action. In season one, he was just a regular 8-year-old kid trying to wrap his head around his newfound superhuman abilities, but by the end of it,...

Netflix’s latest binge watch focuses on a mother dealing with her superpowered son but we really need to talk about that big twist …
This article contains major spoilers
The Taiwanese-American film producer Dennis Liu was intimately aware of the lack of diversity in Hollywood, and of the difficulties people of color faced in getting their projects greenlit. That’s why, after coming up with the idea for Raising Dion, he created a one-issue comic and a two-minute short film to drum up interest for a live-action adaptation in 2015. The idea soon caught on, and what resulted from Liu’s unconventional marketing is Netflix’s nine-episode Raising Dion, written by Carol Barbee and directed by Liu himself.

1. “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” (available October 11)
Why Should I Watch? How can you not watch? After delivering one of the few widely beloved series finales ever and then following it up with an improbably successful prequel series, Vince Gilligan has decided to continue the “Breaking Bad” story through its sole surviving character, Jesse Pinkman.
Aaron Paul was always game to come back to the role, teasing cameos on “Better Call Saul” for years, and now the world will see if a new movie – er, sorry, a new “Netflix Television Event” can recapture the magic that captivated TV viewers (and Emmy voters) for five enthralling seasons.
Whether it turns out as excellent as its predecessors or as terrible as our worst nightmares, “El Camino” is still a must-watch.
Bonus Reason: Written and directed by Gilligan, “El Camino” is also an invitation to see how “Breaking Bad” works in a new format.
