Edward was born in Nottingham, UK, and later grew up in the nearby town of Grantham.
After leaving school, he studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, and has since worked as a doctor in both the UK and Fiji.
Whilst training to be a doctor, Edward performed in a number of plays in the Nottingham area, before deciding to change career and train professionally as an actor.
Edward secured a place at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) on his first attempt, and won a full scholarship to train there, graduating in 2018.
Since graduating, he has worked on projects for HBO, Apple TV+, BBC, Sky, BFI, ITV and Amazon, and has performed in a variety of plays.
Edward works as a doctor when not acting, and volunteers for Surfer's Against Sewage.
Edward was targeted by serial killer Beverley Allitt. He is mentioned in the book 'Murder on Ward Four'.
His 4x great grandfather, John Simmonds, was press-ganged and fought for the British at the Battle of Trafalgar, following which, he won his freedom and settled in Mansfield. His story is told at the Greenwich Maritime Museum.
He graduated from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2018.
Edward graduated from The University of Nottingham in 2013.
