Six of the 11 acts that took to the stage on Tuesday’s second live semifinal of “America’s Got Talent” were eliminated from the competition during Wednesday’s results episode. All of those that were bounced had been good enough to make it through the audition process and survive the judge cuts phase. But they did not win over enough viewers to number among the five acts that move on to the finals of season 13 of “Agt” next week.
Those that didn’t make the cut on live show 5 were the singers Noah Guthrie, Christina Wells and We Three; daredevil Aaron Crow; dance group Da RepubliK; and the 160-person Angel City Chorale. Danger act Aaron Crow returned to “America’s Got Talent” during Tuesday’s Semifinals 2 episode and decided once again to torture judge Howie Mandel. As you may recall, back in his original “Agt” audition Aaron blindfolded himself and then swung a sword at a pineapple on Howie’s head. This time around he put Howie in a box and then had the other three judges choose boxes at random to destroy. Howie was safely inside of the box that was not chosen, so he survived … this time. Tonight’s second round of quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent is not as good as the first group. I felt that some of the acts did not really step it up while others I just fast-forwarded through. I will, however, try to critique as many acts as I can. Stepped Up Acts: Noah Guthrie – I’ve never watched Glee in its entirety, but I love Noah’s voice. It’s very Steven Tyler/Imagine Dragons if that makes sense. He’s got that gravelly edge to his voice that makes you feel the emotions that he’s trying to convey through the song. I applaud him for

After months of taped audition episodes, “America’s Got Talent” has finally gotten to the live portion of the competition. NBC aired the second of three quarterfinals on Tuesday, August 21. The judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B — no longer have complete control. Rather, the viewing audience votes for the acts that they want to see move on to the semifinals based on their performances in this two-hour episode.
Twelve acts are set to take to the stage to perform on Tuesday. Only seven will make the cut and still be in with a chance to win the $1 million grand prize and an opportunity to headline at a Las Vegas casino showroom. Three of these dozen hopefuls for the season 13 championship earned the coveted Golden Buzzer at their auditions, which allowed them to bypass the judge cuts phase and prepare for the live shows. Cowell created and produced NBC’s popular reality TV show but didn’t officially join the panel until 2016, replacing Howard Stern. Of course, Cowell first became a household name in the United States for being the rude judge on “American Idol,” telling aspiring singers that they were losers or that they should stop singing. However, “Agt” fans in recent years have a seen a more kind-hearted version of Cowell at the judges’ table.

America’s Got Talent 2018 season returned for Judge Cuts 3 and many great acts fought to move on. Eighteen acts performed, with only seven getting a chance to return for the live shows. Acts like Hans, Joseph O’Brien, and Shin Lim advanced from Judge Cuts 2, with the help of celebrity judge Olivia Munn. Actor Ken Jeong was on hand for Judge Cuts 1, taking part in advancing acts like Aaron Crow, Voice of […]

Fans of Jeffrey Li are hoping that the talented teen gets picked as a wildcard on “America’s Got Talent.” In one of the biggest surprises ever on “Agt,” this 13-year-old singer did not make it past Judge Cuts on July 31 despite doing well with his version of Whitney Houston‘s hit “One Moment in Time.” This Toronto native had first impressed on the June 19 audition episode with his performance of the Josh Groban power ballad “You Raise Me Up” and was thought to be one of the frontrunners to win season 13.
After he sang again on Tuesday, head judge Simon Cowell — who had been Jeffrey’s biggest champion at his audition — told him, “On paper this should not have worked, you at 13 and singing one of the biggest songs of all time. But you did really well, Jeffrey. I’ll hand it to you.” And guest judge Martina McBride echoed that sentiment.

“This is the stage of the competition where you’ve gotta stand out from the pack,” “America’s Got Talent” judge Simon Cowell scolded singer Noah Guthrie after stopping him midway through his first song. When the former “Glee” star said that his second song choice was The Allman Brothers‘ “Whipping Post,” Simon responded simply, “Let me hear that, please.” Noah then belted out a gritty version of the rock anthem that had “Agt” judges Simon, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Howie Mandel and Martina McBride up on their feet. The singer/guitarist easily sailed through to the live shows. Watch the “Americas Got Talent” performance video above and read the judges’ comments below.

Noah Guthrie got his start as a singer on YouTube before landing a recurring role on the final season of “Glee.” When that show went off the air in 2015, his star faded but he was determined to prove that he was more than just a one-trick pony. He decided to swallow his pride and audition for “America’s Got Talent.” (Watch his audition video above.)
Rather than sing the sort of upbeat tune for which he became known, Guthrie opted for a slow, sultry take on the Rihanna hit “Love on the Brain.” Accompanying himself on the electric guitar, he delivered the kind of confident performance that had all four “Agt” judges on their feet at the end.

Mel B said simply, “You killed it brother.” Heidi Klum admitted she was equally impressed by his humble manner and sexy voice.

Season 13 of “America’s Got Talent” reaches the half point of the audition stage of the competition on June 12 with another two-hour episode showcasing the best (and worst) acts. In this phase of “Agt,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If at least two judges buzz the act, it is immediately eliminated. Each judge has one chance to hit the “golden buzzer” and send an act straight through to the live performances Cowell did just that in the second episode for singer Michael Ketterer while host Tyra Banks did likewise in the premiere when she flipped for dance troupe Zurcaroh.

You may or may not know who Noah Guthrie is right now, but after this week's America's Got Talent, you're going to want to know who he is. In a clip exclusive to E! news, the singer and Glee alum takes the stage to perform some Rihanna and it is good. We may not yet get to see if Guthrie makes it, but we'd be shocked if he doesn't just based on the faces he gets from judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Heidi Klum, and the backstage reaction from host Tyra Banks. "That is talent. Talent talent talent!" she says. Guthrie appeared in the final season of Fox's Glee as Roderick Meeks, a student at McKinley High and one of the first members of the...

"Wait, aren't you guys dating?" File that one under one of the most awkward things someone can ask you about you and your sister! In tonight's episode of Glee, "Child Star," the unlikely trio of Roderick (Noah Guthrie), Spencer (Marshall Williams) and Mason (Billy Lewis Jr.) are all teaming up to help each other out. No, really! Why? Because Mason has a crush on Jane (Samantha Ware), but his sister Madison (Laura Dreyfuss) is proving to be quite the problem, so he's asking the guys for their help in our exclusive sneak peek at the episode above. "I want to take Jane out, but my sister is screwing everything up!" Mason complains, before asking his fellow glee club...

A number of intriguing questions lingered going into Week 10 – beyond the usual, “Whaaaa? The semi-finals are already here?” – of Dancing With the Stars: Would a rumored groin injury be the downfall of one of Season 19’s shiniest stars, Alfonso Ribeiro? Could 76-year-old Tommy Chong continue to defy the odds, the judges and his own ballroom limitations to escape elimination yet again? Might the remaining trio of fierce and fabulous females — Sadie Robertson, Janel Parrish, and Bethany Mota – reach next week’s finale?
