Matteo Curcio is a colorist and finishing artist based in Melbourne, Australia.
With several years of experience in the industry, he has worked on a range of projects, including TVC, advertising, and feature films.
Beyond his color grading and finishing work, Matteo has been a passionate electronic music producer since the 90s, having explored various styles and sounds over the years. He has released music under different monikers, and is perhaps most recognized as one half of the Grammy-nominated duo Musetta, which emerged in 2009 with their debut album "Mice to Meet You!".
Matteo's upbringing in the suburbs of Milan influenced his love for music, particularly indie psychedelic bands, which he played in as an escape from the routine of small-town life. In 2006, he teamed up with singer Marinella Mastrosimone to form Musetta, which received critical acclaim for their downtempo, trip-hop anthems.
Musetta's success brought the duo to the attention of the industry, and they were signed to the downtempo label IRMA and later licensed abroad by Armin van Bureen's Armada. Their music topped the charts in the Trance/EDM genre and was endorsed by prominent figures such as Pete Tong, Tiesto, John Digweed, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Laurent Garnier, and David Guetta.
Matteo's musical style defies categorization, blending downtempo with elements of synth-wave, alt-pop, trip-hop, and electronica, often incorporating samples from obscure Middle Eastern and East-Asian records, creating an unexpected and captivating soundscape.
Today, Matteo's music is featured in popular TV series and movies, including "Enough Said" featuring James Gandolfini, AMC's "Better Call Saul," Showtime's "House of Lies," The CW's "Star-Crossed," Fandango's "The Past Is a Foreign Land," and CBS's "Elementary," among others.
