Here at Et, we're obsessed with a lot of things -- and for the week of May 1 to May 7, this is what we're most excited about:
Why We're Obsessed With '2 Dope Queens'
Just over a year ago, Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson premiered their podcast, 2 Dope Queens -- shaking up the comedic podcast world with a show that is full of "black girl magic." If you're not listening to this already, you need to start now (it’s a good laugh, we promise). The show -- now in its third season -- is as unapologetic as its hosts, combining live stand-up and intimate conversations between the two queens off-stage. The hour-long episodes are taped live weekly at Union Hall in Brooklyn, New York, where the two are joined by special guests including Nore Davis, Aparna Nancherla, and more recently, Gabrielle Union, with season three kicking off with Jon Hamm. For her first foray into full-length documentary filmmaking, director Amber Fares snagged not just an original topic — the first all-woman race car driving team from the Middle East — but a pack of compelling and original subjects who speedily illuminate Fares’ inside look at a burgeoning sport and the women who love it. Although Fares’ film offers an intimate and often very personal look at the Speed Sisters, it struggles to keep up the kind of momentum that should be readily built into an uplifting sports documentary with high stakes to spare.
The Speed Sisters are a Palestinian race car driving team comprised entirely of ladies, and Fares wisely turns her camera on a wide variety of intriguing subjects, including champion Marah, the dogged Noor, the barrier-breaking Mona and born-into-it Betty. The racers may have joined up with the Sisters and the sport for different reasons, but they are all bonded...

You may have heard by now that Milck can't keep quiet. In fact, if you were in Washington, D.C. last Saturday or have been voraciously consuming every photo and video you can from Women's Marches around the world, then you've definitely heard her previously-unknown song, "Quiet."
The tune became the unofficial anthem of the Women's March on Washington, and it's easy to see why. The stirring song was composed by Milck, and the songwriter and her choir of 25 women performed it seven times in D.C. "Quiet" is not simply catchy -- it's beautiful and hopeful, to the point where it's hard to believe it wasn't written specifically for the march.

Going into this movie, I already had high expectations. I love Jessica Williams and absolutely adore Chris O'Dowd and have ever since It crowd. It's entertaining and both of the actors are great in it. The movie follows an aspiring playwright (Jessica WIlliams) as she deals with rejection, teaching children, and finding love.
I quite enjoyed this movie. It made me laugh and made me feel good as I left the theater which is often what I look for in a movie. Besides being entertaining, however, it lacked in depth. Not to say that it has no depth, but just that the film tries to deliver multiple messages that the overall theme gets a bit lost in it all.
The film seems to be trying to say that the reason why you write or do anything is for the love of it and the love of theater. But then you...

The comedy duo The Good Liars consists of Davram Stiefler and Jason Selvig, two guys who satirize people and organizations through on-the-ground comedy. They started in 2011 posing as investment bankers “protesting” the Occupy Wall Street protests, but have then moved on to other targets, like Time-Warner Cable, Chick-fil-a, and the NRA. But now, the duo have produced a film in which they, along with Roger Ayeels and Jen Richmond (played by “Daily Show” veterans Aasif Mandvi and Jena Friedman), go on the campaign travel to satirize the 2016 presidential election. Combining real footage of the The Good Liars disrupting campaign events and filmed material for the film, Stiefler and Selvig try to get to the heart of the nation through comedy. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.
