Chicago Fire Season 11, from start to finish, had plenty of moments that left us speechless, got us talking, and made us laugh. And so when series star Daniel Kyri (who plays firefighter Darren Ritter) stopped by TV Insider, we had to take the opportunity to have him share his reactions to some of them, from the smaller, more entertaining moments to the bigger, finale-ending cliffhangers. Early on in the season, there were quite a few heartbreaking moments. With the writing on the wall ever since Casey (Jesse Spencer) left Chicago and his and Brett’s (Kara Killmer) conversation in the Season 10 finale, the premiere saw the long-distance couple break up (over the phone). Then, even though we knew it was coming, thanks to a promo warning us of the fact, it was still hard to watch Chief Hawkins’ (Jimmy Nicholas) death — especially considering his girlfriend Violet’s (Hanako Greensmith) reaction.

Chicago Fire Season 11 started off on a sad note for “Brettsey” fans: Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) broke up with firefighter Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) after both previously acknowledged their long-distance relationship (with him in Oregon) wasn’t working. Before his death, Chief Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) wanted to introduce Brett to a friend of his; she’d later bump into him and agree to a coffee date. In the fall finale, she mentioned to Violet (Hanako Greensmith) that Dylan (Christopher Allen) invited her to a concert that weekend but that would still be keeping things in the “slow lane” since the tickets were free and she’d meet him outside the venue, then they wouldn’t have to talk much. But is Brett ready for even the “slow lane”? “Brett is gonna have a lot of fun dating going forward,” co-showrunner Andrea Newman tells TV Insider. “She’s gonna have some magical times dating,...

Chicago Fire said goodbye to another character Wednesday, and there's no hope of a return down the line for this one.
Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 3, appropriately titled "Completely Shattered," concluded with the death of Paramedic Field Chief Evan Hawkins.
Jimmy Nicholas had been a part of the series since Chicago Fire Season 10, and Evan blossomed into one of the best characters.
However, that all came to a halt when he was killed trying to save lives.
If you watch Chicago Fire online, you know the episode also showed Evan's love interest, Violet, trying to save him.
The harrowing episode made plenty of fans (including myself) think that everyone had made it to safety.
But Hawkins rushed back to the theater to help someone struggling, and a part of the building collapsed.
The actor took to social media following these final scenes.

Some people are trapped under the screen, and a couple are down in the storage room. Boden (Eamonn Walker) sends Severide (Taylor Kinney) to the ones in the storage room and has Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) do the primary search. As Boden warns, they have two minutes, not 10. As more first responders arrive on scene, Hawkins arrives on scene...

Ambulance 61 is back as it should be — with paramedics Brett (Kara Killmer) and Violet (Hanako Greensmith) both on board — but there are some changes for Firehouse 51 on Chicago Fire. Plus, Brett broke up with Casey (Jesse Spencer) over the phone — and that’s just the beginning. During a recent press day for One Chicago’s new seasons, Greensmith offered a few teases for what’s ahead. Switching up a Love Triangle In the premiere, Violet’s ex Gallo (Alberto Rosende) told her what Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) did to ensure she’d keep her spot on 61, and the two reconciled — and were able to go public with their relationship since he transferred. Things are heating up for Violet (Hanako Greensmith) on NBC’s Chicago Fire whose love triangle with boss man Chief Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) and ex-boyfriend Gallo (Alberto Rosende) is still very much in play. With only three episodes left to air in May for Season 10, fans can expect to see more on that front.
“The Gallo, Hawkins, Violet love triangle is still alive,” executive producer Andrea Newman tells Deadline. “There’s still a lot of complications between them. It’s not going to be as simple as off she goes with Hawkins. It’s still a tricky situation for all three of them and Gallo ends up very much in between those two.”
She continued, “[Gallo] has been a good friend and that can be very attractive. She’s got herself in between two really great guys who are very different. It’s very complicated.”

As Chicago Fire‘s newest couple, paramedic Violet Mikami and her boss Paramedic Field Chief Evan Hawkins have certainly made an impression in their short time together.
In fact, the pair’s chemistry is so strong that “we had plans [to go in] one direction [with the story] and then these actors [Hanako Greensmith and Jimmy Nicholas] were so fantastic together and just popped on the screen so beautifully that we were like, ‘This is where we’re going to go,'” co-showrunner Andrea Newman shared during a recent #OneChicago Day press junket. “So we really leaned into that because they were bringing it so majorly.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 10, Episode 13 “Fire Cop.”] Is it a good idea for paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) to be involved with Chief Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas)? Probably not, even if it’s just frowned upon, but that’s not stopping them on Chicago Fire. Violet decides to go for it in the latest episode. “I like him,” she says while confiding in Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). And she decides to go with Stella Kidd’s (Miranda Rae Mayo) attitude (if she and Taylor Kinney‘s Kelly Severide had been on the same rig before her promotion): “Who gives a damn what people think?” So, Violet goes to Hawkins and makes plans to “make some of that good kind of trouble,” as he’d called what’s between them earlier. Greensmith teases what’s next and the problems that may ensue. At the end of the episode, Violet decides to go for it with Hawkins,...
