Chris Gersbeck is the founder of Dumb Industries, an independent production company based out of New York City. Gersbeck started producing podcasts for comedian Dave Hill for the Maximum Fun Network beginning in 2018 including Dave Hill's Podcasting Incident, So... You're Canadian with Dave Hill, The Goddamn Dave Hill Show, and The Dave Hill Goodtime Hour.
He also produced and later became a writer/panelist for the comedy podcast and live show Dave Hill: History Fluffer with Dave Hill, Jim Biederman Chris Gersbeck and Jodi Lennon in 2019, which included a live performance at San Francisco Sketchfest in February 2020.
In 2020, Gersbeck started producing monthly live-streams for The Mads from Mystery Science Theater 3000 featuring Trace Beaulieu & Frank Conniff, based on their touring live show The Mads Are Back. The show quickly gained a worldwide audience during the pandemic and continues to broadcast online every second Tuesday of the month.
In 2021, Gersbeck co-created The Mary Jo Pehl Show with comedian & writer Mary Jo Pehl from Mystery Science Theater 3000, Cinematic Titanic and RiffTrax. The monthly Twitch live-stream has since gained a cult-like following, with followers often being featured on the show itself and leading the direction each episode takes. The show was first offered exclusively on Twitch, then later also in their membership, The Mary Jo Pehl Show Clubhouse.
Gersbeck also produces online art classes for Jackey Neyman Jones, who played "Debbie" in the legendary B-movie Manos: The Hands of Fate, offered directly on the Dumb Industries website.
Dumb Industries has since become a full-service online production company that specializes in producing regular online content for independent artists. This includes Super Dumb Bros., a weekly retro gaming live-stream Gersbeck does with comedian Matt Reiser, and The Witching Hour, a scripted comedy show created by Reiser based on his stand up act.
