Actress Ayesha Jhulka, who plays Pallavi in the soon to be released webseries ‘Happy Family: Conditions Apply’, has a comic side to her personality and it’s the prime reason she chose to say yes to the project.
The series revolves around a joint family of four generations, which are divided by their divergent eccentric personalities but are united by their bonding with each other, and how their differences often lead to hilarious situations.
Talking about doing a comedy and playing both a ‘saas’ (mother-in-law) and a ‘bahu (daughter-in-law), the actress said, “After back to back serious shows, it felt great to do a comedy. It is said and believed that cinema’s main purpose is to entertain people. But the history of Hindi cinema tells us that cinema isn’t just meant to entertain, but it is also a medium to make people think about their own issues, give out social messages and change rigid perceptions about society.
That is what ‘Saroj Ka Rishta’ succeeds in doing in a light-hearted way.
‘Saroj Ka Rishta’, directed by Abhishek Saxena, is a comedy film but it succeeds in making the viewer both smile and also question people’s perception about ‘overweight’ girls. And that’s the biggest strength and the beauty of the film.
‘Saroj Ka Rishta’ is a story of a girl named Saroj who lives in the city of Ghaziabad. On the surface, she is a common girl, like every other girl living in the city, but her being overweight is what gets noticed...

The news was accidently broken by late veteran actor Om Puri's wife Nandita while narrating the events leading to his demise in her recent interview. "We were supposed to go for Pankaj Kapur’s daughter, Sana, and Pahwa’s son, Mayank’s engagement ceremony. Om called me and by the time we got there, he reached my house," she had said. While Nandita continued narrating the event with further details, the news indeed has come as a surprise to everyone.

Talking chickens, telepathic lovers and the Queen as an honorary Indian – this big fat wedding crowdpleaser is full of quirky humour, though it could do with a plot
First the Tour de France, now a big fat Bollywood wedding: everything gravitates to Yorkshire in the end. After so many spectacular monsoon weddings, there is undeniable novelty in seeing one conducted under the auspices of Redcar and Cleveland borough council in no more than a passing drizzle; likewise in seeing a fleet of gold limousines emerging from behind dry-stone walls to traverse the moors while a steam train toots in the distance. Welcome to the world of Vikas Bahl’s Shaandaar, where there is a high possibility during the musical numbers that everybody on screen is dancing just to keep themselves warm.
The geography is but the first quirk in a broad crowdpleaser that replays the high-stakes family gathering of June...

The clamour to get a strategic window to release a big film gets more insistent with every passing week. Films' release dates are announced even before one scene is shot. And there is a virtual Mahabharat to get coveted festival slots. Therefore when the makers of the Dhoni bio-pic announced that they won't be releasing their film on October 22 as per plan, the makers of the Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Shandaar quickly announced their film as the replacement biggie for the Dussehra festival this year. So now Vikas 'Queen' Bahl's Shandaar releases on October 22 in lieu of Dhoni: The Untold Story. While the future of the Dhoni bio-pic with Sushant Singh Rajput remains uncertain, what with changes happening in rapid fire motions in the cricketer's life, Shandaar was earlier slotted for 4th September. It's now been moved forward for strategic advantage. Shandaar is a film about the new craze for destination weddings.
