Heading into the 2023 Video Music Awards, all eyes were on Taylor Swift, and she delivered. Swift swept the live awards show, winning all four of her categories that were announced during the live MTV broadcast.
Out of the 11 nominations Swift received, she won in all categories but two. Song of the Summer went to Jung Kook ft. Latto for “Seven,” and Olivia Rodrigo won Best Editing for “vampire.” Neither of these categories were presented during the live broadcast of the awards show.
But the rest — which included best pop, song of the year, best direction, artist of the year, show of the summer, album of the year, best visual effects, best cinematography and the highly coveted video of the year — all went to Swift. In fact, Swift’s Video of the Year award marks the fourth time the singer and songwriter has received this award, the most of any artist in VMAs history.

Two days before the 2023 Streamy Awards, creator economy experts Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry uploaded a special conversation with some of the show’s nominees. The podcasting duo shared a round table with Cleo Abram, Ammar Kandil of Yes Theory, Michelle Khare, Zach King, and Ryan Trahan, all of whom discussed their experiences as online video professionals.
The conversation, dubbed “YouTube Mastermind,” offered insights from prominent figures in the creator ecosystem. The individuals who assembled at Colin and Samir’s roundtable weren’t just 2023 Streamy nominees. Four of them — Kandil, Khare, King, and Trahan — have taken home trophies at previous editions of the online video award show. (Full disclosure: Tubefilter co-produces the Streamys alongside dick clark productions.)
The wide-ranging conversation touched on many topics related to the creator lifestyle. The panelists discussed their daily lives, routines, and creative processes, while also identifying hurdles they had to overcome before making it big.

What do we expect from our favorite award shows? Are they nights to see our favorite celebs interacting with one another? A carefully choreographed factory for unexpected, viral, gasp-out-loud moments? A time to sit at home and judge the best and boldest red carpet outfits? Or a chance to turn our brains off for three hours and cheer for people we’ll probably never meet?
Well, with the 2023 Streamy Awards taking place this Sunday at 6 p.m. Pt / 9 p.m. Et, it’s a bit of a mix and possibly all of the above.

Taylor Swift is heading into the 2023 Video Music Awards poised to break her own record. With the nomination of “Anti-Hero” for Video of the Year, Swift may be the first artist to ever win the honor four times, beating the record she set just last year.
To date, Swift is the only artist to win MTV’s Video of the Year on three separate occasions. In 2022, she took home the honor for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).” In 2015, she won for “Bad Blood (featuring Kendrick Lamar),” and in 2019 she won for “You Need to Calm Down.”
Video of the Year is far from the only nomination Swift received. The singer and songwriter was nominated in eight categories altogether, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Editing.

Turns out the clip of “Blood on My Nikez” Denzel Curry shared last week wasn’t complete: today, the rapper has shared the full version of the single, featuring none other than Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J.
Juicy J jumps into “Blood on My Nikez” like a refined elder statesman. While Curry dons sneakers, J modifies the refrain with the quip, “Let me wipe the blood off my Louis boots.” From there, the horrorcore icon examines the modern rap game, spitting, “2023 and you know these n***** don’t scrap no more/ I keep it 19 like I’m Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Denzel Curry is back with the new single “Blood on My Nikez,” his first track of 2023.
With production handled by Mathaius Young, Dilip, Otxhello, and Ambezza, “Blood on My Nikez” marks a return to Curry’s darker side. Over an ominous instrumental, he raps about his rise to greatness — even if there were some casualties along the way. But he’s learned to keep his brutal tendencies under wraps: “Leave a trail full of dead crooks/ Opposite of snakes, you’re the type to make the feds look,” he raps, cleaning the “blood off my Nikes” to hide the evidence.
The single arrives with an equally eerie music video to match, directed by Omar Jones. Watch it and stream the song below.
While “Blood on My Nikez” is Curry’s first single of the year as the main artist, he did lend an assist to Armani White back in January for “Goated.

Denzel Curry is the latest artist to participate in Spotify’s Live at Electric Lady series. The rapper visited the eponymous studio to record a seven-song set comprising tracks from his recent album Melt My Eyez See Your Future, throwing in a cover of the 2000 Erykah Badu song “Didn’t Cha Know.”
It’s not often we hear Curry sing, but his vocals do “Didn’t Cha Know” justice, and the cover even features a guest appearance from a Badu collaborator, the R&b singer Bilal. The EP’s opening track is another cover, this one a rendition of Shogun’s “Lonely Man” (from the Japanese TV series Detective Story).
Elsewhere on the EP is a previously-unreleased track called “Endtroduction” that layers Curry’s distinctive, playfully-aggressive flow over a bold jazzy instrumental. The final four tracks are cuts from Melt My Eyez See Your Future: “Walkin’,” “Troubles,” “Angels,” and “X-Wing.

Philly rapper Armani White has teamed up with A$AP Ferg for “Silver Tooth,” the latest preview from his upcoming debut EP, Road to Casablanco. Stream it below.
Produced by White’s frequent collaborator July Da Producer, the track samples Bow Wow’s early 2000s hit “Take Ya Home.” It marks White’s second song to flip a single produced by the Neptunes after his breakout hit “Billie Eilish” was built around N.O.R.E.’s “Nothin’.”
White opens the bouncy track with a reference to the song’s title before joking about getting flashier jewelry: “I tell ’em, ‘Send a watch that I could fit both wrists in.'” On his verse, Ferg follows up by rapping, “Walk around like I’m Nigo with the diamonds in the clock/ Moonwalkin’ on these hoes, I got diamonds in my socks.”
“Take Ya Home” peaked at No. 72 on the Billboard...

The 54th NAACP Image Awards is ready to dole out shiny new trophies to honor the trove of outstanding achievements and performances of people of color across television, music, streaming, podcasts, literature and film, and the promotion of social justice through their creative endeavors.
This year’s annual show will be the first with an in-person audience since the show was hosted in February 2020, also at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It’s also the first to include three new categories within the motion picture, television + streaming categories — Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Make-Up and Outstanding Costume Design.
“Throughout the past year, we’ve witnessed Black artists showcasing our history and uplifting values of progressive change, while redefining genres and bringing our stories to the forefront of entertainment in so many innovative ways,” Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, said in a statement. “Black voices are necessary to continually inspire audiences around the world.
