Exclusive: Italian director and producer Michela Scolari’s English-language fiction feature debut Sicilian Holiday has wrapped shooting and is now headed into post-production.
The film stars rising acting talents Lilly Englert and Francesco Leone as an actress and a sculptor who meet on a Southern Italian island.
Other cast members include Claudia Gerini, Rocco Ancarola, Ivo Romagnoli, Felix Maximillian, Tony Schiena, Fuschia Kate Sumner, Lee Levi, Nicoleta Nuca, Jerry Ying, and Marcia Sedoc.
The film marks Scolari’s first fiction feature after the award-winning documentary Paolo Rossi, The Heart of a Champion and the upcoming Romania-shot documentary The Jokers.
Scolari also takes producer credits with her company Filmin’ Italy, alongside its CEO and cast member Romagnoli; American producer Adam Leipzig under the banner of his Credential Media Venture, Attilio de Razza at Italian company Tramp Limited.

Oscar-winning Irish writer-director Terry George and Egyptian writer Mariam Naoum have teamed up to co-write Arabic serial killer series “The Alexandria Killings” on which George will serve as showrunner.
The high-end show in Arabic and English is based on the true story of shadowy Egyptian sisters Raya and Sakina Bint Hamman who in the 1920s robbed and murdered at least 17 women and were subsequently sentenced to death. The notorious case has already spawned several local films, plays and books.
“The Alexandria Killings” is being produced by Dubai-based Front Row Filmed Entertainment and London-based Rocket Science via their Middle East joint venture Yalla Yalla. The producers are Front Row’s Gianluca Chakra, Rocket Science’s Thorsten Schumacher and Terry George.
The show’s executive producers will be Hisham AlGhanim, Michela Scolari, who is represented by Larry Hummel, and Nayla Al Khaja, who is represented by Adel Nur.

Leading Black U.S. congressman John Lewis has joined “Ahimsa – Gandhi: The Power of the Powerless,” the upcoming documentary on non-violent political struggle.
The film was produced to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth and tackles issues including race relations, the under-trodden members of society, and restoration of human rights. Coming at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has pushed America’s racial inequality problems to the top of the agenda, the film also explores how Gandhi’s message inspired the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S., including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Congressman Lewis.

Production has been completed on “Ahimsa – Gandhi: The Power of the Powerless” a new feature length documentary about Mahatma Gandhi and the concept of non-violence. It features the song “Ahimsa” performed by U2 and A.R. Rahman, with the written by Bono and Rahman.
The film was produced to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth – on Oct. 2 — of Indian lawyer, civil rights activist and politician Mohandas Gandhi. It also comes at a time when support for George Floyd, a black man who died last month at the hands of police in Minnesota, is morphing into a wider movement.
The film was directed and produced by Ramesh Sharma, who previously earned an Emmy nominee for “The Journalist and the Jihadi: The Murder of Daniel Pearl”.) Production and rights sales are handled by South Africa-based Distant Horizon.
