Animal lovers often tell us their “dream vacation” is to go on an African safari, but the price of that trip is cost prohibitive to the average person, let alone family. And while there are singular animal attractions in the U.S. — the wild ponies of Assateague or swimming with dolphins in Florida, for instance — no wide swath of landscape here can quite compare to the diverse nature and environment experiences of a visit to Western Canada.

Not even taking care of George Clooney’s newborn twins could keep Matt Damon from doubling down on his longtime feud with Jimmy Kimmel.
Damon debuted as George and Amal’s “manny” to 4-month-old twins Ella and Alexander on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night – but quickly devolved into slinging insults (and eventually even throwing up middle fingers) at the late night host.
“He’s my manny,” Clooney told the audience of his longtime friend and Ocean’s Eleven costar as Damon rolled in pushing a double stroller and carrying a diaper bag on one shoulder and spit-up towel on the other.

Question: Will we see Mulder and Scully’s son William in Season 11 of The X-Files? And, if so, is he more like Mulder or Scully? —Ricarda
Ausiello: Yes, we will see him. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were cagey about their demon-ish spawn’s identity when I grilled them on stage at New York Comic-Con earlier this month, but the pair were slightly more forthcoming after the panel. Anderson told me the actor (whose name has yet to...

Though Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 48th birthday on Saturday in a lavish joint birthday party with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez (who turns 42 on Thursday), the singer was blowing out the candles on Monday too — at a family party on her actual birthday.
Video shared on Rodriquez’s Instagram Stories Tuesday showed the backyard birthday bash, including a three-tiered cake Lopez was gifted by the baseball star and his two daughters — Ella Alexander, 9, and Natasha Alexander, 12.
“More cake,” Rodriquez wrote on the video’s caption.

You know that feeling when you see someone and you immediately think, "That person is me"? Well, Justin Trudeau's son, Hadrien, is that person for us. The adorable 3-year-old was not really feeling it when he stepped out for Canada Day celebrations on Saturday. Hadrien was accompanied by his handsome dad, mom Sophie, and siblings, Ella-Grace and Xavier. In addition to covering his ears during performances on Parliament Hill, he also fell asleep and happily chugged a bottle while relaxing in his mom's arms. The day also included a visit from Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who are in town for three days. Hadrien's hilarious antics remind us of another tiny royal who has better things to do (cough, Prince George, cough). If we’re going to use it as an insult, let’s define our terms.
The film industry seems to have no shortage of words that either serve as synonyms or subsets of “adaptation,” most of which are brought to you by the letter “R”: reboot, reimagining, rendition, redo, revival, retelling, recreation, reanimation (and looking to the other 25 letters in the alphabet, version, homage, makeover, update). One, however, is not treated quite like the others, and that word is “remake.” When filmmakers bring it up by choice, it usually seems to be to explain why their films should not be thought of by that term, thank you very much.
Perhaps you know exactly what I’m talking about. Or perhaps you think I’m reading far too much into things. After going through over 500 pages of research on remakes and adaptations, I myself thought the latter just as possible as the former.

[Editor’s Note: “BoJack Horseman” Season 3 is a feat of storytelling on both a serialized and episodic level. To honor the impressive accomplishment, IndieWire will be reviewing all 12 episodes over the next few weeks. Below, we delve into Episodes 2 & 3.]
“What are you talking about? It’s just whales!”
The idea of seeing zoos as prisons is nothing new, but Raphael Bob-Waksberg took the concept a step further in “BoJack Kills,” the third episode of “BoJack Horseman” Season 3. In light of the allegations made against SeaWorld in the wake of “Blackfish,” the opening moments of Episode 3 obliterated all other interpretations, efficiently and effectively establishing how parents paying for their children to watch abused animals perform is pretty damn similar to grown men throwing dollar bills for grown women to scoop up from their knees.
“Families come together to admire the fine female form of the majestic killer whale. It’s educational!”
“You and your little ones are going to get moist!”
“Bring your pre-pubescent daughters who are just beginning to be cognizant of a woman’s role in the world. They won’t internalize deeply problematic notions about the commodification...
