- Eric Avery was born on April 25, 1965 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a composer and actor, known for Southland Tales (2006), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) and Parenthood (1989).
- Original bassist for Jane's Addiction and Deconstruction. Declines to record or tour with Jane's Addiction due to conflict with lead singer Perry Farrell. Replaced in Jane's Addiction by Flea.
- Was replaced by Flea for Jane's Addiction reunions in 1997 (at the 'Private Parts' premiere and on the 'Relapse' tour) and spring 2001, then by original Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn le Noble during their 2001 reunion tour. Le Noble left the fold in August 2002, and was replaced by Chris Chaney.
