Warner Bros. has announced that they are holding open auditions for Fantastic Beasts 2 and they are looking at casting young teenage versions of classic Harry Potter characters. The five characters they are looking to cast include Newt Scamander, Leta Lestrange, Gellert Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore, and a new character named Sebastian.
They are looking to cast 13 to 16-year-olds in the roles of Lewt, Leta, and Sebastian. As for Dumbledore and Grindelwald, they want actors from the age of 16 to 18. There are no details on how the young versions of these characters will fit into the story, but Pottermore gives us a rundown of their history:
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, readers learned that Albus and Gellert were once friends, before becoming arch-rivals. The casting of their teenage incarnations – as well as those of Newt and Leta – will be sure to intrigue Harry Potter fans, and drive further speculation about the next film’s story.

Warner Bros. has released nine new clips from their highly anticipated film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. What I like about watching film clips is that they give you a better sense of what the film will really be like than a trailer does. You get to see full scenes play out. All the clips are a lot of fun and they offer us some more insight into these characters and this magical world filled with fascinating creatures.
I also included a video featuring seven minutes of behind-the-scenes B-roll footage, which is always cool to watch.
The story opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case,...

Warner Bros. has released the first clip for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (via Yahoo Movies), and it shows off some pretty magical special effects. Eddie Redmayne stars as wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter movies. The screenplay was penned by the author of the Harry Potter novels, J.K. Rowling. According to the synopsis, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them takes us to a new era in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away.
Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) stars in the central role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters.
There are growing dangers in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets, threatening to expose the wizarding community to the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction of No-Majs (American for Muggles) bent on eradicating them. And the powerful, dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, after wreaking havoc in Europe, has slipped away…and is now nowhere to be found.
Unaware of the rising tensions, Newt Scamander arrives in the city nearing the end of a global excursion to research and rescue magical creatures,...

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them looks like it's going to be an incredibly entertaining film. I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise, and it's so cool that we are going to explore the story of Newt Scamander in 1920s America. That's exciting!
Warner Bros. has released two new clips for the film, an IMAX poster, and in case you missed the little history lesson featuring Ezra Miller that was released yesterday, make sure to check it out here. The first clip features Newt shaking the gold out of a strange magical creature that has been hoarding it, and the second one invites us to a magical little dinner party.

So many goodies in the cinemas candy store this upcoming Awards Season! Oh,boy, oh boy.
It’s “Good Movie Season” when we get Hollywood heavy-hitters (both top popcorn entertainment and Oscar wannabees), and the best of the film festival circuit, most recently from Toronto. Many films will have an awards qualifying run in 2016 and open officially in 2017.
While we have not seen some of these (although we have seen some trailers), some movies are sure to disappoint. That said, here is Wamg’s list of highly-anticipated films, both big blockbuster entertainment and seriously meaty cinema.

Doctor Strange – Nov. 4
The Sherlock supreme becomes the sorcerer supreme as one of the founding Marvel comics heroes finally arrives in the Marvel “movie-verse”.
While other Marvel Studios flicks have explored the worlds of hi-tech, Norse mythology, and space opera, director Scott Derrickson guides us through the realms of magic.

As we get closer to the mid-November release, we finally get a truly in-depth look at Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and it turns out that it was worth waiting for.
Anything related to the Harry Potter franchise really needs no further sell, but even though the book and film series is almost universally loved, some films are better than others, and certainly some books leave something to be desired. Moreover, some installments aim toward the simplistic, while others (especially when considering the films) look to broaden the scope of the dialog.
They’re all good, but that means something different in some cases. For example, Alfonso Cuarón’s Prisoner of Azkaban stands out among the film as the richest effort, which hoped to elevate the text and its themes.
If the trailer can be believed, it looks as though this one is moving in a similar direction,...

From Star Wars to Marvel, there’s a number of big blockbusters this year, but only one film will feature a return to a world we haven’t seen in over half-a-decade. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, a spin-off of sorts in this magical world of Harry Potter, is actually scripted by J.K. Rowling herself and features the return of director David Yates (who helmed the final four films). This new film follows Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures.
“I read the books and I then started watching the films and it was just like the most wonderful escapism,” Redmayne tells Collider. “Like every year or two, you got to go and sort of dive into this world and J.K. Rowling’s capacity to kind of, really sort of...

It’s no secret that Warner Bros. is keen to launch a new, very likely massive franchise with this fall’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – and who can blame them? The Harry Potter series is one of the biggest cinematic cash cows ever, and with supposedly certain tentpoles like Jupiter Ascending, Pan, In the Heart of the Sea, and even Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice coming up unexpectedly short at the box office, the studio is ready for a sure thing.
Recently, at the premiere of one of those aforementioned wobbly blockbusters (The Legend of Tarzan), it became clear that J.K. Rowling is equally committed to fleshing out Fantastic Beasts. According to director David Yates, who’s directing the first installment and potentially stepping into the director’s chair for follow-ups, the bestselling author has already written a script for the first sequel.
“She’s done the first one.

The 'Harry Potter' spin-off feature Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is fast approaching this Fall and is set years before we all knew anything about Hogwarts. Now during the promo rounds for The Legend Of Tarzan director David Yates revealed to Gs News that the script for the second film of Fantastic Beasts has already been written by author J.K. Rowling and it sounds like the plan is to do three films.
Here’s what Yates said about Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them:
"We've done the first one, she's written the second one, she's got ideas for the third one. No one quite has ownership of them quite yet, in terms of having a relationship with the material, other than the relationship they'll have with the movie when it comes out. So, it’s sort of lovely in a way. When we adapted the (Harry Potter) books,...

Alice Through the Looking Glass and The Huntsman: Winter's War turned out to be sequels no one really wanted. Will J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter prequel spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them successfully bust loose from the franchise? Check out the latest poster which features the remnants of something else that got loose. What we've seen so far from this spinoff film has been pretty exciting but it's hard to tell if the magical pull will remain without Harry, Hermione, Ron, and pretty much every other character fans have come to love. Rowling is making her screenwriting debut expanding from her book of the same name and David Yates is directing so those are certainly two items in the pro column. Daniel Radcliffe and co. may be done with the world of Harry Potter, but Warner Bros. certainly is not. Coming this fall is Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, a spin-off of sorts in this magical world. Scripted by J.K. Rowling and featuring the return of director David Yates (who helmed the final four films), this new film follows Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures.
A new trailer has now arrived, which still doesn’t give away much of the story, but does a swell job teasing the magical elements to be had, from and transportive suitcase to a New York City full of surprises. Also starring Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell, check out the new trailer below.

J.K. Rowling is taking fans back to the world of Harry Potter in Warner Bros. latest project, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She wrote the script for the film, which is being directed by David Yates. The movie is going to introduce us to a ton of new characters that existed in America in the 1920s, years before the events of Harry Potter.
The story centers on Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a British magizoologist who travels to New York City with a case full of magical creatures. The creatures in that case end up escaping, and that's what sparks the adventure.
During the Celebration of Harry Potter 2016 in Orlando, Florida, a behind the scenes featurette was released that offers up some footage and additional information from the film that fans are going to want to see. It also includes interviews with members of the cast and crew.

In a world where franchises never die, it was clear Warner Bros. wasn’t going to close out the Harry Potter series after it brought them nearly $8 billion. Since a reboot was out of the question, they turned to the next best thing: a spin-off. Ahead of a release next November, today now brings the first preview for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
Scripted by J.K. Rowling and featuring the return of director David Yates (who helmed the final four films), this new film follows Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures.
Also starring Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell, check out the first teaser trailer below, along with the poster.

David Yates has two movies coming in 2016. The first is "The Legend Of Tarzan," and after watching the first trailer, we know that the director has nowhere to go but up. And it really doesn't get much bigger than "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them," which finds J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. revisiting the "Harry Potter" franchise but from a whole new angle. Here's the official synopsis: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical...
