The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally here, and both fans and critics have had the opportunity to voice their opinions on the movie and will be able to do it in the upcoming weeks. But, with more fans being able to see the movie, some theories about the characters and their inspirations about them have begun to surface and one of the more popular ones as far as the movie is concerned is the one that the film’s main villain, the ape monarch Proximus Caesar is actually based on controversial businessman Elon Musk.
Many fans have observed similarities between the villain of the film and Musk, leading to many of them believing that Elon Musk was the inspiration behind the character and as it seems, based on what Kevin Durand, the actor who portrayed Proximus Caesar said, it seems that Musk was, indeed, one of the inspirations for the character.

Actor Kevin Durand plays Proximus Caesar, the villain in the newest film in the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Durand’s mannerisms might remind you of another guy who is in the news – Elon Musk.
In an interview with the Inside Total Film podcast, Durand admitted his character has a few of the same tics as the tech titan.
“That’s awesome! I mean, even with the bonobo face, they compare me to Elon Musk,” he said. “I get Elon Musk all the time, actually, it’s very funny. People approach me with a look in their eye where I realize they are not meeting an actor that they like, it’s something bigger. But the fact that it comes through even when I’m an ape is fantastic!”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has decided on a vice presidential running mate from a short list that includes NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura. According to his campaign manager, Kennedy is close to announcing his pick.
Other prospective candidates include Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, according to two anonymous people with knowledge of the campaign.
Not everyone on Kennedy’s list has agreed to run with him. Paul said that he would decline an offer to be on the presidential ticket.
“I’m supportive of his ability to have a platform to speak out,” Paul said. “I think he’s saying a lot of good things. But I have no plans to get involved in the campaign.”
Similarly, Gabbard has stopped cooperating with Kennedy’s campaign and has seemingly turned her attention to former President Donald Trump’s.

Exclusive: Producer Kate Cohen (Jane Got a Gun) has tapped Oscar nominee Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) and Simon Marshall to script a feature adaptation of Viktor Frankl’s classic treatise, Man’s Search for Meaning. For Paterson’s husband and writing partner, Marshall, the project has taken on particular resonance of late, having just been diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer.
Translated into 50 languages, with over 16 million copies sold, Frankl’s riveting account of his time in the Nazi concentration camps, and his exploration of the human will to find meaning in spite of unspeakable adversity, has offered solace and guidance to generations of readers since it was first published in 1946. At the heart of his work is the conviction that the primary human drive is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but rather the pursuit of meaning.

John Oliver gleefully mocked Matthew McConaughey’s recent virtual motivational seminar, titled The Art of Livin’, on Sunday’s Last Week Tonight.
McConaughey hosted the free virtual event April 24 that drew a reported 2 million viewers from around the world and featured guests including Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, Marie Forleo and Trent Shelton. It turned out to be the launch of a (not-free) “immersive learning experience” dubbed “Roadtrip: The Highway to More” that costs $397 for viewers who tuned in and is now priced at the non-promotional offer of $497.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, the seminar featured, among other things, McConaughey sharing stories from his memoir, Greenlights, and playing a bongo.
“A couple times, McConaughey took to the drum while he read out comments from viewers spilling their secret shames and desires,” the American-Statesman reported. “He paced back and forth toward the camera, often placing himself in extreme Norma Desmond closeup. His hands gesticulated wildly.
