Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, suggested that she might want to leave the Republican Party.
During an interview with CNN’s chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju on March 24, he asked her how Murkowski felt about Trump calling January 6 prisoners “hostages.”
“I don’t think that it can be defended,” she responded.
“What happened on January 6 was an effort by people who stormed the building in an effort to stop an election certification of an election,” she added. “It can’t be defended.”
“I wish that – that as Republicans, we had a – we had a nominee that I could get behind,” the Alaska senator stated. “I certainly can’t get behind Donald Trump.”
“Are you considering being an independent at this point,” Raju then asked Murkowski.
“Oh, I think I’m very independent-minded,” she replied jokingly.
“Officially though,” Raju clarified. “Officially.”

The morning of the blockade, Emily Collins, co-founder of the climate group Rave Revolution, suits up in a pair of camo pants and combat boots, unaware of the conflict that lies ahead. In the garage, her fellow co-founder, Tommy Diacono, puts the finishing touches on his masterpiece — a human-size planet Earth sign made out of wood with the day’s objective emblazoned in white paint: “Burners of the World Unite.”

American superhero show ‘Gotham Knights’ ended its run after Season 1, as The CW network decided not to renew the show for Season 2. Actor Misha Collins, who was playing District Attorney Harvey Dent in the series, had slowly begun transforming into his villain alter ego Two-Face, finally turning into him during the season finale.
However, as the show got scrapped after that moment, Collins said that he had hoped to further explore the character.
While the actor had earlier expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of the show on social media, speaking to Deadline, he said: “Well, as the series winds up, we’re really just getting introduced to the Two Face character, and it would have been rich and rewarding to have explored him devolving down the road and the inevitable fights to bring Harvey back, which would, of course, have involved a tremendous amount of inner turmoil.”
He added:...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the series finale of The CW’s Gotham Knights.
Gotham Knights ended its one-season run on The CW on Tuesday, as the network bids farewell to many of its scripted series.
The episode, titled “Night of the Owls,” opens with the crew in quite the predicament as they try to explain to Gotham Pd how they’ve once again been set up by the Court of Owls. Meanwhile, Rebecca (Lauren Stamile) is holding Harvey (Misha Collins) hostage inside Wayne Tower with his daughter Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan) strapped to a bomb. If Harvey unleashes Two Face, then Rebecca promises to disarm the bomb.
While he’s being questioned, Turner (Oscar Hayes) gets quite the shocker: Batman didn’t kill his parents in cold blood. In fact, he was defending himself from the couple, who were hired to murder him. In a (somewhat) fortunate turn of events,...

Jennifer Lawrence is addressing rumors she filmed a cameo for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
The No Hard Feelings star made an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and host Andy Cohen read a viewer question about a rumor Lawrence would “appear in The Hunger Games prequel as Katniss’s grandmother” as the film takes place 49 years before the events of the first movie.
“Oh, ’cause I’m 49 in Hollywood years, huh?” Lawrence quipped.
She then said, “No, that’s not true,” denying she would make an appearance in the prequel film.
Cohen asked Lawrence if she took anything from The Hunger Games set and the Oscar winner said she took a bow and arrow and the boots “from like every movie” that she keeps in her closet.

"You lie all the time to everyone. You scare me." Greenwich Entertainment has revealed a new official US trailer for a French thriller titled Madeleine Collins, starring the wonderfully talented actress Virginie Efira. This one originally premiered at film festivals back in 2021, opening in France later in 2021, though it has taken two more years to finally show up in the US for a proper release. Judith leads a double life: two lovers, two sons in France and one daughter in Switzerland. Entangled in secrets and lies, her lives begin to shatter. Reviews say the film features the "elegance and suspense of Hitchcock." Starring Virginie Efira as the woman with many lives, Jacqueline Bisset, Nadav Lapid, Nathalie Boutefeu, Quim Gutiérrez, and Bruno Salomone. Reviews also say this is a "stunning portrait of a monster," that is "not a mystery but a character study as a mystery." This one looks like it gets intense!

Jack Lee, part of the influential Los Angeles band The Nerves in the 1970s and later a hit songwriter, died May 26 in Santa Monica, Calif. at age 71. He died after a long battle with colon cancer.
Lee is best remembered for his song “Hanging on the Telephone,” which Blondie covered from The Nerves version. Lee also wrote Paul Young’s “Come Back And Stay.”
Lee was one of three singer-songwriters in the Nerves. The band started in San Francisco, then moved to Los Angeles in 1977 to ride the power pop trend of that moment. Lee, the guitarist, was joined by Peter Case on bass and Paul Collins on drums. Case went on to form The Plimsouls, while Collins was the founder of The Beat.
The group had just one self-titled EP released in 1976 on Bomp! After the Nerves breakup, Lee had two solo recordings.

Jack Lee, the singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer with the 1970s West Coast band The Nerves who wrote the power pop trio’s “Hanging on the Telephone,” famously covered by Debbie Harry and Blondie, has died. He was 71.
Lee died May 26 in Santa Monica after a three-year battle with colon cancer, his family announced. “He never gave up on his music, to the very end,” they wrote in a statement. “His guitar, right by his side. He lived his songs. One by one they told the story of his life. Some dreams die. His never will.”
In 1976, The Nerves — Lee on guitar, Peter Case on bass and Paul Collins on drums — secured a $2,000 loan to record a four-song, self-titled, self-released EP in San Francisco that featured two Lee compositions, “Give Me Some Time” and “Hanging on the Telephone.”

The departure of CNN’s Chris Licht, following his turbulent year atop the cable news network, places a pause on one of the great media stories of the decade so far. But even non-media-junkies can appreciate just how strange and how strenuously rocking had been Licht’s time at the network: It played out across screens. The trouble with being the place that invented the 24-hour news cycle is that those hours can come back to bite when you’re the story.

Chris Licht is stepping down as the chairman and CEO of CNN Worldwide, ending a tumultuous tenure as the first leader of the network under parent Warner Bros. Discovery.
Licht’s departure comes after a bombshell profile in The Atlantic infuriated staffers, already upset over the way that a recent town hall with President Donald Trump was handled.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav told staffers in CNN’s morning call that Licht was leaving and that a search was on for a new CEO. “It didn’t work out,” he said.

“Emily in Paris” is the latest TV show to be impacted by the Writers Guild of America strike, currently into its second month with no sign of ending anytime soon.
According to a report in Variety, production on the fourth season of the Netflix hit was set to to begin in Paris in late summer or early fall, but is now being delayed by two months; that timeframe could extend even longer if the strike is still ongoing at that point, but the plan at the moment it to begin shooting by the end of fall.

It’s the game almost every TV show fandom has played at some point: Who from one show we love play on another show we love? And since Misha Collins is always down for some fun, we decided to ask Gotham Knights‘ resident Harvey Dent to do the mashing up and give us his picks for a Supernatural–Gotham Knights casting session. And he nearly did! “This is actually a conversation that we had. … We almost worked it out so that [he] would play Batman on our show in a flashback,” confirms Collins, quickly taking a swipe at his ex-costar’s “long-standing fantasy” to play a superhero. “Obviously...
