American Idol’s top-three contestants — Tennessee’s HunterGirl (Hunter Wolkonowski), Kentucky’s Noah Thompson and Leah Marlene of Illinois — will journey to “Idol” glory including a rest stop on the New Jersey turnpike. The top three will take on the music of Bruce Springsteen for the three-hour finale on Sunday at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt on ABC.

“American Idol” continued with the ninth episode of Season 20 on Monday, April 4. This installment of the ABC reality TV competition saw judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie choosing the Top 24 that will compete for America’s vote. The final Hollywood week challenge had singers perform one more solo with a live band, called Showstoppers. The Top 24 will perform at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii on Sunday, April 10 and Monday, April 11.
So who was the best of the night? And did they step up their game since their first Hollywood Week performance? Below I rank each hopeful from the least impressive (but with room to grow) to a possible Season 20 frontrunner. Of course we didn’t see them all, so it wasn’t an even playing field for everyone.

Dierks Bentley’s collaborative performance with Larkin Poe and the War and Treaty at the 2021 ACM Awards was too good to be a one-off.
“It’d be kind of hard to suck with that band onstage with you,” he told Rolling Stone during tour rehearsals this spring. “I was like the carpet in Big Lebowski: just trying to tie the room together. We got done playing that and I was like, ‘We have to do something else,’ because it was too much fun.”

Dierks Bentley has announced plans to return to the road. The ACM-nominated performer outlined dates for his High Times & Hangovers Tour, a brief run of clubs that will get underway in May.
Unlike many of Bentley’s superstar contemporaries, who are mostly resuming live performance with amphitheaters — and, in the case of Luke Bryan and Eric Church, arenas — Bentley will be starting off smaller. The five-show High Times & Hangovers Tour gets underway May 11th in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, mostly sticking close to the East Coast for five consecutive days.

Chicago – Larkin Poe features sisters Rebecca and Megan Lowell, who are singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists creating their own brand of rock ’n roll … rooted in grit, soul, and their southern heritage flavor. Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe.
The Grammy award-nominated sister duo is released their band’s fourth album – ironically titled “Self Made Man” – on June 12th through their own Tricki-Woo record label. The album’s title rack … “She’s A Self Made Man” … is a high energy, powerful merge of blues, country and classic rock, with a splash of southland heart thrown in for good measure. Throughout the new songs, the sisters use their creative heritage and hometown roots as a base to merge the styles that inspired them, passionately connecting to their listener and expressing their imagination and humanity.

In 1968, the Band recorded “The Weight,” a song full of images and characters that Robbie Robertson said he had been storing in his imagination for years.
