- Art Department
Sarah Ruth Joanou (pronounced Joe-AWN-oh) is a Chicago based artist, writer, actor, and freelance film crew Jane-of-all-trades, with particular interests in production design, set dressing, and costumes.
After graduating with a BFA in Acting (and 4 years working in the Theatre Department's costume & set shops) from Trinity Western University just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, she wound up in the blink-and-you-miss-it town of Mishawaka, Indiana, where she couch-surfed, was briefly homeless, & learned to survive in a bar. To stave off the overwhelming existential dread that she would work in the service industry forever, she began drawing & writing everywhere she could.
It was on those sticky bar tops after hours, in the safe haven of the industry, that she developed her craft. She now resides in Pilsen, Chicago, where she is plotting her next move.
