“The Fall Guy” is set to hit theaters soon, starring Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers, a down-on-his-luck stuntman. The action-comedy movie also features Emily Blunt and it would be great to have Kitty from “Oppenheimer” star alongside Ken from “Barbie”.

However, even before its official release, the film is grabbing headlines for a different reason. Early screenings have revealed a joke that has landed with a thud. The movie’s decision to add humor to the Johnny Depp – Amber Heard controversy was not very well received by the preview screening viewers.

I remember always enjoying Inside, and first saw it not long after its initial release. It was brutal, gory and set on Christmas Eve. Therefore, a ‘Christmas’ movie that, for a while, got watched every holiday period. But, with my ever-expanded collection of Christmas movies, and not enough time to watch them, it had been several years since I had seen the film. So, Second Sight’s Limited Edition Blu-ray release has come at just the right time!
If someone asked me if home invasion horror movies were a particular favourite of mine, my initial reaction would be no. But two of my favourite movies are Inside and The Strangers. Two movies that do lots of different things with that subgenre but that are equally as effective. Inside is the one...

Focus Features has landed on a new release date for The Bikeriders from writer/director Jeff Nichols. Following its 2023 festival run, the crime drama was gearing up for an awards season run with a December 1st theatrical release. The release was postponed during the strikes, and Focus Features’ The Bikeriders will now open on June 21, 2024.
The film currently sits at 85% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics calling it “an affectionate take on a much-romanticized subculture” and “a vivid, fleshed-out insider’s eye view of a subculture populated by authentically hard-edged lost souls”.
Oscar nominee Austin Butler (Elvis), Emmy Award winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Oscar nominee Tom Hardy (The Revenant), and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) lead the cast. The ensemble also includes Michael Shannon (Bullet Train), Mike Faist (West Side Story), and Boyd Holbrook (Logan).

Has Sofia Coppola done it again? The acclaimed writer/director is currently putting together what kids these days would call a "heater," riding high on streak of well-received movies between 2017's remake of "The Beguiled," "On the Rocks" in 2020, and now "Priscilla." The biopic of Priscilla Presley, Elvis' wife and a thoroughly compelling firebrand in her own right, stars Cailee Spaeny as the title character opposite Jacob Elordi as the famous singer. Marking a stark departure from director Baz Luhrmann's approach in last year's "Elvis," Coppola set out to tell the story from the perspective of someone who hasn't really received much of a spotlight in history, rather than confining a figure as important as Priscilla to a bit role or a supporting player on the margins.

Sofia Coppola’s new film about Priscilla Presley is earning rave reviews.
The biopic, based on 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, by the ex-wife of Elvis Presley, had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Monday.

Starring Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis, the film tells the story of how the iconic couple first met and fell in love, as well as their tumultuous marriage.
Writing for IndieWire, critic David Ehrlich praised Coppola for taking a “soft and muted” approach to the material, in contrast to the “orgiastic blockbuster” the was Baz Lurhmann’s 2022 biopic “Elvis”.
Little White Lies critic Hannah Strong, who also wrote the 2022 book Sofia Coppola: Forever Young, described “Priscilla” as “a melancholy fairy tale about first love and enduring mythology,” adding that Spaeny possesses “a...

A master of his craft renowned for his clinical, methodical technique suddenly finds himself in a precarious position. But before we get to David Fincher, let's talk about his new film, "The Killer."
Based on the French graphic novel series of the same name by writer Alexis Nolent and illustrator Luc Jacamon, "The Killer" is the first feature film Fincher has directed since 2020's Oscar-winning "Mank" and only his third in the last 10 years. That's partly due to him being busy helming multiple episodes of Netflix's acclaimed serial killer drama "Mindhunter," as well as producing and occasionally directing the streamer's (also well-received) animated anthology series "Love, Death & Robots." Still, it's just not the same as consistently having a new Fincher film every few years as we did in the 1990s and 2000s.
Maybe that's why the crowd was particularly enthusiastic during his new film's world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.

Ari Aster’s first two films, 2018’s “Hereditary” and 2019’s “Midsommar,” cultivated the young director enough cachet for A24 to hand him a blank check for “Beau is Afraid,” his “Jewish ‘Lord of the Rings’” about the psychological horror of visiting your mother. The three-hour horror-comedy epic is the indie studio’s most expensive movie to date. Starring Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix as the stunted and anxiety-ridden Beau of the title, the movie defies easy categorization and is, expectedly, inspiring awe and disgust in nearly equal measure – often within individual viewers.
Beau lives in an urban hellscape that approximates what “New York City looked like in the mind of Travis Bickle and Bernhard Goetz” and is in a persistent state of waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it finally does, it’s a chandelier on top of his mother’s head (it wouldn’t be an Aster film...
