For nearly a year, Peter Gabriel has been teasing his new album, i/o, by releasing a single to coincide with a full moon. On December 1st, he’ll finally unveil the project in full.
i/o marks Gabriel’s first album of new, original material in more than two decades. A bevy of musicians and producers contributed to the record, including guitarist Gabriel’s longtime collaborators Brian Eno, guitarist David Rhodes, bassist Tony Levin, and drummer Manu Katché, the Soweto Gospel Choir and Swedish all-male choir Oprhei Drängar, and the New Blood Orchestra, among others.
All 12 of the album’s tracks are subject to two stereo mixes: the Bright-Side Mix helmed by Mark ‘Spike’ Stent, and the Dark-Side Mix helmed by Tchad Blake. The two mixes are included on the double-cd package, and are also available separately as double vinyl albums. Additionally, a third version – the In-Side Mix helmed...

The new slasher-demon-slayer film, The Bell Keeper, takes too many notes from Evil Dead. We have Randy Couture as the new Thor—I’m sorry, an axe-wielding killer—who has himself become an urban legend near a lake called Bell Lake. The film plays everything by the book, including every trope possible and trying to make its own self-aware jokes on the subject. Not only does it come across as corny, but sometimes it all looks like it’s done in poor taste. Despite all this, The Bell Keeper isn’t half bad and somehow manages to be entertaining. Some of the dialogue really makes you want to turn off the film, but if you do decide to stick around, it can be a funny distraction. Let’s get into the film.
Spoilers Ahead

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown historically behaves in a way that cannot be described in any other way but maddening. From crying fake tears to manipulating Kody Brown, here are some of her most maddening personality traits and hot-button topics that infuriate viewers.
Robyn Brown manipulates Kody Brown
Perhaps the most maddening personality trait Robyn Brown shows throughout TLC’s Sister Wives is how she manipulates Kody Brown. This is despite him taking a stance of patriarchy and believing Robyn subscribes to it.
Robyn’s manipulation of Kody was apparent in an episode filmed before their 2010 spiritual marriage. Robyn selfishly insisted he needed to spend equal time with her and her children to help transition them. However, his other wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown, differed in their opinions.
From a two-week honeymoon to saying she didn’t want to buy their current house [but needed five bedrooms], Robyn is her own dichotomy. She...

The Bell Keeper opens on a reasonably strong note for what appears to be an indie slasher. An axe-wielding figure, we’ll later find out his name is Hank, dispatches a pair of victims and adds their driver’s licenses to the collection on his cabin wall. The only as to why, “You shouldn’t have rung the bell”.
This happens at Lake Bell which, as the newspaper headlines under the credits tell us, has a long and evil reputation that includes lots of brutal deaths and mysterious disappearances. So of course filmmakers Gabriel, and Matthew want to make a documentary about it.
So they, along with their girlfriends Megan, Holly, and Liam Matt’s little brother who happens to own a camper,...

Pop culture has long mimicked pageantry. It’s reflected in Taylor Swift’s sequined leotard, Beyoncé’s unmistakable strut, and even Margot Robbie’s twinkling grin in Barbie. The melangé of glam and controversy in pageantry encouraged The New York Times’ Lauren Herstik to co-produce the documentary How to Fix a Pageant.
“You have things like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé and Barbie this year each earning a billion dollars, or just about to get there,” Herstik tells Rolling Stone. “There’s a lot of connections between that kind of culture...

Since his breakthrough 1994 feature Once Were Warriors, a troubling and fiery coming-of-age story indie set in New Zealand’s Maōri community, Lee Tamahori has almost exclusively resided in the realm of pulpy B-grade action cinema. From directing Pierce Brosnan’s final Bond in Die Another Day to Ice Cube in XXX: State of the Union to making a Guy Ritchie-lite actioner about Saddam Hussein’s son (The Devil’s Double), Tamahori has a strong familiarity with cheesy espionage plotlines and passable entertainment. Both sides of Tamahori’s filmography come together in his latest historical epic The Convert––results are expectedly mixed.
Presented in a decidedly prestige manner with sweeping camerawork and a plotline that decides to burn slow in building the relationships of its characters, The Convert tells of John Munro (Guy Pearce), a British preacher who is brought to the settlement of Epworth to help serve the community of settlers there.

The fourth and final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has finally arrived. It once again offers a compelling lead with the terrific John Krasinski and an incredible supporting cast. That includes Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, Abbie Cornish, and Betty Gabriel. Regarding antagonists, you can’t do much better than Michael Peña and Louis Ozawa. The final season brings this series to a compelling last act of the series. If you’ve been following along, you are in for a treat. If you’ve not checked out Jack Ryan, it’s a terrific series worth setting your sights on.
Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with several cast members. First, we spoke with series regulars Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly about seeing Jack Ryan come to an end. And for this viewer, it’s always a treat to see Betty Gabriel, and she’s terrific here. Ms.

In the buzzing atmosphere of Tribeca’s Storytellers Panel, there was a great conversation between two longstanding peers, Billy Porter and Idina Menzel. Born out of shared experiences in musical theater, their friendship spans several decades, revealing a mutual respect between them.
Billy Porter, a pioneering actor, singer, and director, has made an indelible mark on both Broadway and Hollywood. From his remarkable performances on Broadway, most notably in Kinky Boots which earned him a Tony award for Best Actor in a Musical, to making history in Hollywood as the first openly gay Black man to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Pose, Porter has consistently challenged norms and transformed the entertainment landscape. After Harrison’s heads up a few weeks back, Behaviour Interactive’s latest Dlc for Dead by Daylight is out today in “End Transmission”. The Chapter 28 Dlc introduces sci-fi horror to the asymmetrical horror game, complete with a new Killer, new Survivor, and a new map.
The new Map, Toba Landing, is composed of three areas. The first features buildings left from a greedy corporation named Huxlee whose goal was to explore and exploit new worlds. The second, an ominous jungle and the third, some remnants of an ancient civilization. Navigating this unknown world will prove as much of a challenge as evading the Killer.
Speaking of the Killer, The Singularity is an enlightened AI corrupted by alien technology that can spy on Survivors anywhere on the map. It’s an efficient killing machine of high intellect, able to spread its presence through restructured organic matter with the help of its BioPods.

The title of Belgian writer-director Claude Schmitz’s new film noir, The Other Laurens (L’Autre Laurens), seems like an obvious homage to The Two Jakes, the somewhat forgotten Jack Nicholson sequel to Roman Polanski’s classic of the genre, Chinatown.
Both the latter movie and such existential 1970s neo-noirs as Robert Altman’s The Long Goodbye and Arthur Penn’s Night Moves loom large over Schmitz’s third feature, which follows a down-and-out private eye investigating the death of his twin brother. Starring the scrappily engaging Olivier Rabourdin (also in Catherine Breillat’s Cannes competition title, Last Summer), The Other Laurens weaves an intriguing little family mystery filled with bits of dark comedy and weirdness — this is a Belgian movie after all — and just enough of a plot to sustain the viewer over a rather stretched two hours.

You know what you are in for when you see a film that has Frank Grillo yet doesn’t show much of him. Black Lotus is another of those action thrillers where you have to convince yourself that you are watching an action thriller rather than it convincing you. We have a very common plot with a very common protagonist. A solitary reaper who has served in the army and has nowhere to go, an underworld ganglord who abducts and exports women, and a kidnapped little girl. I’m sure that you didn’t expect much from the film, but you must have missed more of the antagonist, especially when you know what Grillo is capable of. And at least a good old-fashioned final fight between the protagonist and the antagonist would have made for a good ending. When such a fight doesn’t happen, the catharsis isn’t effective at all.

With the release of the latest and final trailer for "Mission: Impossible -- Dead Reckoning Part One," speculation about the plot has already started to run a little rampant based on a few cryptic lines of dialogue and the introduction of a new character tied to Ethan Hunt's past. Since the original Brian De Palma directed "Mission Impossible" exploded into theaters in the summer of 1996, each subsequent entry has been distilled down to whatever stunt set piece Tom Cruise is attempting, rather than the intricate machinations and global intrigue that typically comes along with the spy genre. In short, audiences don't remember the plot, they remember Cruise hanging off the side of a building.
De Palma's first film is in line with a more classic spy thriller, filled with plenty of mystery and surprising double crosses that amount to a satisfying cinematic sleight of hand trick. John Woo...

Sci-fi horror is all the rage these days, with Scorn, Signalis, The Callisto Protocol and the upcoming Greyhill Incident all capitalizing on the voguish trend. Even Dead Space (a franchise that was driven into the ground by its own publisher and forced into complete dormancy for almost a decade) has managed to make itself relevant again.
Always with its finger on the pulse, Dead by Daylight is looking to get in on the action next with its Chapter 28 Dlc. This imminent expansion — which is scheduled for release on DbD’s copper anniversary — will see the multiplayer game take to the stars and promises to really shake things up with fresh content that’s unlike anything they’ve ever done before.
And what better way is there to celebrate 7 years of asymmetrical bloodshed than to go intergalactic? After all, crossing that final frontier is pretty much the crowing achievement of any slasher franchise that has legs.

Peter Gabriel opened his 2023 “i/o Tour” in Krakow, Poland on Thursday night, marking the two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s first full solo concert since 2014 while offering an extensive preview of his upcoming tenth LP, i/o.
Aside from Gabriel’s most well-known numbers like “Sledgehammer,” “Don’t Give Up,” and “Big Time,” the two-set performance treated fans to over a dozen new songs and arrangements including the live debuts of i/o singles “Panopticom,” “The Court,” “Four Kinds of Horses,” and the title track as well as several previously unheard album cuts and a still-untitled piece that Gabriel dedicated to his late mother.
The former Genesis frontman wrapped up the main portion of the set with his 1977 debut solo single “Solsbury Hill,” but returned twice for encore renditions of the perennial crowd-pleaser “In Your Eyes” and the 1980 protest anthem “Biko.” Watch fan-captured footage and a pre-filmed...

An Oscar winner for his documentary Man on Wire and the filmmaker behind 2014’s awards juggernaut The Theory of Everything, James Marsh has been away from the big screen for a few years (his last project was the 2018 heist film King of Thieves). But he comes to Cannes with two buzzy projects in the market. In Night Boat to Tangier, he takes on Kevin Barry’s New York Times best-seller with a cast including Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson and Ruth Negga.
That film hasn’t shot yet, but Marsh has already completed a rather different feature, Dance First. A sweeping account of the life of literary icon Samuel Beckett (the title is taken from his ethos, “Dance first, think later”), the film sees Gabriel Byrne as the Nobel Prize winner in a story that covers the many aspects of his younger years: from Parisian bon vivant to WWII resistance fighter and philandering husband.

The second, and final, trailer for Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, for a glimpse into that trailer. But here’s the rub: McQuarrie, the most verbose man in Hollywood, is remaining mostly tightlipped about the plot. “I’m very sensitive to when people tell me how disappointed they are when trailers tend to give away the entire movie,” he says. “What Tom [Cruise, in case you didn’t know] obsesses about when we’re working with marketing, what we always stress, is no-one remembers the plots to these movies. It always gets distilled down to, ‘It’s the one where Ethan does x.’ It’s the one where he hangs off a building, it’s the one where he jumps off a cliff, it’s the one where he hangs on the side of an airplane, it’s the one where he breaks into the CIA. It will take the entire hiatus to recover from the emotional rollercoaster that was this supersized finale.
There was so much bittersweetness to 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 17 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 18 as we hit impossible highs, experienced devastating lows, celebrated and mourned, and loved and lost.
At the center of it was Tarlos' highly-anticipated wedding that's been seasons in the making.
But first, we have to pour some tequila out for Gabriel Reyes. The speculation and fan theories were correct, and we did lose the Reyes patriarch by the close of the first hour.
He's been this influential, wonderfully complex, rich character, and his loss will be felt from now on. To say I'm angry about it doesn't do it justice. The series relies too heavily on shocking deaths to move the narrative forward.
It'll never be said that Gabriel didn't love his son,...

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “9-1-1: Lone Star” Season 4 finale.
“9-1-1: Lone Star” finally gave fans the Tarlos wedding they deserved. But a devastating twist put a damper on the celebrations, setting off a potentially dark parth for the newlyweds’ future.
Actors Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael L. Silva — who play the fan favorite couple comprised of paramedic Tk and police officer Carlos on the Fox first responder drama — spoke with TheWrap about the tragedy that struck days before their big day. The eventful two-hour finale followed the preparations for the wedding, until the action took a tragic turn when Carlos’ father Gabriel (Benito Martinez) was murdered in his home.
“No one saw that coming with Gabriel,” Rubinstein told TheWrap ahead of the episode’s debut Tuesday night. “Even when you’re the one on screen, they still manage to shock the actors every single time… That was really a hard one to swallow.

Peter Gabriel first learned about former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in Rolling Stone. He doesn’t remember the exact date, but a 1975 article about Georgia’s Allman Brothers Band and their support for Carter’s presidential campaign is likely what caught his eye.
“I’ve always been interested in American politics, and I was fascinated to read that the Allman Brothers had played a critical role in getting some early funding for this ‘peanut farmer with principles,’” Gabriel reminisces on a recent Zoom call from his Real World Studios in Southwest England.

Psychopaths on TV are presented in multiple ways; some are the sadistic kind who enjoy inflicting pain and take pleasure in it, while others are the violent type who break out in fits of rage and go on killing sprees. Take Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. There’s another category of the most accurate psychopath, as agreed by psychiatrists who’d studied 400 movies and declared Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men as the most realistic kind. Alex Forrest from Paramount’s TV series Fatal Attraction is a world apart, however, and she’s the kind who inspires anger in the viewer as they watch her cause unbridled terror, going as far as killing another human being. Paramount’s Fatal Attraction dropped its fifth episode today, and it surely had a lot of you shouting at the screen, cussing out Alex for some of her deeds.

Major Crimes, the continuation series of The Closer, ran for an incredible six seasons, totaling over 100 episodes,
While the show didn't receive as much critical acclaim as The Closer and didn't earn any Emmys, the show was a success for TNT.
The ensemble-driven Major Crimes featured many of the same characters and performers as its predecessor, which rarely happens on television.
The show premiered after The Closer's finale, with only a few casting changes, such as Kyra Sedgwick stepping down from her leading role.
What is the cast of Major Crimes doing now? Find out below!
Bonus: Corey Reynolds as David Gabriel from The Closer
Corey Reynolds is one of the few to appear in every episode of The Closer but not transfer to Major Crimes, mainly because his character David Gabriel got moved to the Da's office Bureau of Investigation as their liaison.

The Prime Video series "Good Omens," based on the novel "Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, is a delightfully irreverent romp through the apocalypse. The demon Crowley (David Tennant) and angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) are the unlikeliest of friends, but they still manage to stop the apocalypse together despite their many differences. Sure, there was a mix-up with the infant antichrist that led to a much sillier apocalypse than expected, but everything turned out okay in the end, and now the angel-demon duo are coming back for another, all-new adventure.
Season 1 of "Good Omens" felt like a one-and-done deal, with a complete story that ends rather resolutely, and there's no sequel novel to draw from. However, the success of the series and fan love for Aziraphale and Crowley was enough to inspire co-creator Gaiman to write an entirely new...

It's been an excruciating wait, but we finally know when Good Omens Season 2 will get underway.
Good Omens Season 2 will premiere July 28 on Prime Video.
The premiere date was revealed on the 33rd anniversary of the publishing of the original novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, which was the basis for the first season of the television series.
The six-episode season will be released exclusively on Prime Video on July 28 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Good Omens Season 2 explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.
Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London's Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

The premise of the limited series “Class of ‘09” is a familiar form of dystopia: in the near future, law enforcement has come to rely on technology that skirts the line between police work and a police state. “Class of ‘09” shares a blueprint with classics like “Minority Report,” then adds a timely twist. The FX show’s Orwellian innovation is an algorithm powered by artificial intelligence, the kind of tool now at the center of all kinds of public anxiety, including the ongoing writers strike.
“Class of ‘09” is created and written by Tom Rob Smith, the British scribe best known to Americans as the force behind “The Assassination of Gianni Versace,” the second installment of Ryan Murphy anthology “American Crime Story.” That season, an underrated masterpiece, scrambled the typical chronology of true crime, beginning with the titular murder and winding backwards through Andrew Cunanan’s serial killing spree.

May 5th marks another full moon, thus Peter Gabriel has shared another new single. This time, it’s “Four Kinds of Horses,” a cut from his upcoming album i/o. Named after the eponymous Buddhist parable, the track features Brian Eno on synthesizer as well as Gabriel’s daughter Melanie on backing vocals.
The mellow and moody “Four Kinds of Horses” explores “the interesting overlap of religion and peace on the one hand and violence and terrorism on the other.” In a press release, Gabriel explains how the song came together with co-producer Richard Russell, founder of Xl Records.
“I came up with some chords, melodies and words on top of a groove he was working on,” Gabriel says. “We tried a few things that didn’t altogether work and so it lay dormant for quite a while. Then I started playing around with it again and changed the mood...

Joshua Jackson became a dad in 2020, and the experience has shaped how he approaches his onscreen characters - and even has the actor revisiting his past performances. While speaking to Popsugar about Paramount+'s streaming reboot of "Fatal Attraction," Jackson reflects on a previous project that also dissected an extramarital rendezvous: "The Affair."
In the first four seasons of the Showtime drama, Jackson starred as Cole Lockhart, a Long Island man grappling with the death of his young son, Gabriel, by secondary drowning - as well as the even more recent betrayal of his wife, Alison, who has embarked on a messy affair.
"Being a father now, and looking back at that performance that had a man who had lost a child, my portrayal of that would be very different now."
