‘AHS: Delicate’ struggles to practice what it “Preech”-es as generations of Satanic conspiracies bring the audience back to start.
“You’re having a fucking baby. Of course it hurts.”
American Horror Story is no stranger to more intimate seasons that largely rest on the shoulders of one or two characters. This approach can be successful, but this horror anthology series usually feels the most effortless when it operates like a proper ensemble piece. AHS: Delicate has focused almost entirely on Emma Roberts’ Anna Victoria Alcott and the ticking time bomb that gestates inside of her. It’s proven to be a mixed bag of an approach that becomes even more questionable in “Preech,” Part One’s “finale,” which emphasizes that Anna is not in fact special. She’s merely the latest trend in Satanic subjugation as dark forces give their master plan another go. It’s a turn that...

Actor Julia Roberts has always shown support to her niece Emma Roberts as she’s carved out her own acting career. But at the same time, Roberts couldn’t stomach watching Emma in one of her most popular projects.

Roberts has been a major inspiration for Emma’s acting ambitions since her childhood years. According to an interview she did with Allure, Emma couldn’t help catch the acting bug when on film sets with her aunt.
“I’d run and hide in her makeup trailer and hear, ‘Where’s Emma? It’s time for bed! She has to go home,'” Emma said. “I remember it feeling like summer camp, just the feeling of creativity.”
Emma’s passion for the movie business would eventually land her Ryan Murphy’s popular American Horror Story anthology series.

Andy Cohen and Emma Roberts shaded Tom Sandoval during the premiere episode of “American Horror Story: Delicate”.
In a surprise cameo, Cohen — who appeared as himself — welcomed Roberts’ character — actress Anna Alcott — to his late-night talk show “Watch What Happens Live” after Alcott finally landed a one-on-one interview she longed for.
The two chatted about Alcott’s new movie “The Auteur”, with Cohen applauding the actress’ role: “It’s so good it seems that any actress would kill for it.”

It was only a matter of time before these words ended up in a sentence together: Kim Kardashian will be joining the 12th season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's long-running anthology, "American Horror Story." A collaboration between the man who explores fame, camp, luxury, and what captures America's attention, and the woman who has captured America's attention better than anyone else feels so natural, that it's surprising it hasn't happened sooner.
Kardashian posted a teaser promo to her Instagram account today announcing the collaboration. In the promo, you can hear the sound of children playing along with a slow, eerie rendition of "Rock-a-bye Baby." An enigmatic, slowly revealed tagline reads: "Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate." Roberts is an "American Horror Story" veteran who played the witch Madison Montgomery in the seasons titled "Coven" and "Apocalypse," and appeared as other characters in the anthology along the way.

American Horror Story: 1984 is an '80s fever dream - almost suspiciously so. Frankly, it feels as though someone's trying to hammer the '80s into viewers with brute force. While this decades vibe could be signature Ahs camp, it might also be an indicator that the first few episodes of 1984 are a movie or a season inside a season, serving us with meta horror à la Wes Craven's New Nightmare and throwing us back to My Roanoke Nightmare.
Let's break down the rampant '80s aesthetics. The intro credits, as Reddit user Hannahk23 explained, look like they were pulled from an '80s VHS tape. We see forward and rewind buttons, as well as neon colors galore in the typography and costume design. Heck, the first few episodes have a distinctly grainy, shot-on-film look to them as well. It all feels incredibly deliberate, as if the producers...

American Horror Story: 1984 has, for the most part, felt like a slasher true-crime series, with seemingly innocent characters cozying up with serial killers left and right. But the brief and important ghostly happenings make it definitely not true crime. Since we know supernatural stuff is happening on the back burner, what if everyone is already dead, à la Murder House? This reveal, were it to really happen, would definitely account for all the weird little details at the camp, that's for sure.
The biggest clue about spookier forces at play is none other than Jonas the hiker. We first meet Jonas when the group hit him with their car on their way to Camp Redwood. The car doesn't kill him, but Mr. Jingles sure does, even leaving him in a closet for Brooke to discover. But Jonas is back in the second episode, and the Night Stalker (aka Richard Ramirez) kills him again.

Right off the bat, American Horror Story: 1984 introduces us to not one but two villains: Mr. Jingles and the Night Stalker. While the first character is fictional, the Night Stalker, aka Richard Ramirez, was very much an actual serial killer in the '80s. And just as Emma Roberts's Brooke Thompson survived his terrifying attack in the first episode, so did a real young woman in 1985.
It's no secret that American Horror Story draws from gruesome real stories - in past seasons, we've seen everything from the Black Dahlia to the Manson Family. This time, as the series did with Bloody Face, we see the murderer up close as a main character portrayed by Zach Villa.
First, let's digest Brooke's encounter with the serial killer. College student Brooke unexpectedly finds herself in danger after her steamy L.A. aerobics class, during which she ironically tells her acquaintances that...

I have a lot of difficulty remembering character names, even on shows I watch regularly (and write about). I hate that I'm like this, and the older I get, the worse my memory becomes. When dealing with American Horror Story's ensemble cast, my inability to remember who is who only becomes worse, because despite the characters all being different, the cast remains basically the same. So, Brooke (Emma Roberts) ends up being Madison Montgomery, Montana becomes Billy Lourd, Margaret becomes "whatshername, you know, she was so good on the show last year," and so on.
Thankfully, 1984 does me a kindness early on in the episode with a flashy introduction to each character, complete...

Before there was Madison Montgomery or Chanel Oberlin or Jill Roberts (where my Scream 4 stans at?!) or whoever the hell she's playing in the forthcoming American Horror Story: 1984, there was Addie Singer. As the central character in Nickelodeon's Unfabulous, the network's quasi-answer to rival Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire, Addie was, as the title of the tween comedy might suggest, an average middle schooler who liked to write songs about about her life. The character, whom audiences first met 15 years ago on September 12, 2004, was also the role that would introduce Emma Roberts, a plucky young actress with a familiar last name and an insanely famous aunt, to the world. For the first time ever, FX’s anthology series “American Horror Story” has been submitted on the Emmy ballot as a drama and not as a limited series. That’s because of a recent Emmy rule stating that since this particular installment, “Ahs: Apocalypse,” featured continuing storylines and characters from both “Ahs: Coven” and “Ahs: Murder House,” then it couldn’t compete as a limited series. The cable network is now hoping that the Emmy switcheroo will pay off for 19 of its performers, as that’s the number of actors and actresses that have been submitted on the 2019 ballot.

Badass women with power. Glorious wigs. Hilarious one-liners. Enviable fashion. Familiar faces. Fun characters. A streamlined story that makes sense. American Horror Story: Apocalypse has all of that and then some, making it one of the franchise's best seasons yet. The appeal of seeing witches Cordelia Goode (Sarah Paulson), Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) and Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy) battle the Antichrist, Michael Langdon (Cody Fern), was just too good to pass up for some...

We've known for quite some time that American Horror Story loves to play with time. I mean, the full span of the series alone takes up a good five or six centuries. This time around, Apocalypse has proven to be just as slippery. We begin at one point, then leap forward 18 months, then rewind three years. And though we've been dwelling in this three-years-prior flashback for quite a few episodes now, we're also experiencing flashbacks within that flashback. It's enough to give you a real headache. Even the most attentive fans may be having trouble.
On top of all this time-play within the eighth season, the fact that it's a Murder House and Coven crossover means we also have to keep the timelines for those seasons in mind while we navigate these evil waters. Whew. Lucky for you, I had the time, and I've compiled all the important dates from the previous seasons,...

American Horror Story‘s long-awaited Murder House reunion episode shed some much-needed light on a few of the franchise’s most beloved characters, but it also presented us with a whole new series of head scratchers.

After seven years of waiting, American Horror Story finally returned to the Murder House for what might have been the best episode of Apocalypse so far. Not only was the sixth episode directed by Ahs powerhouse Sarah Paulson, but it also reunited viewers with some key original characters. Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott returned as Vivien and Ben Harmon, Taissa Farmiga reappeared as Violet, and the mother of Ahs, Jessica Lange, returned as Constance Langdon to much acclaim.
While we would have happily watched this reunion as is, "Return to Murder house" also served the purpose of solving several mysteries plaguing this season, especially the burning question of what happened to Constance, the original caretaker of our favorite Antichrist. For a quick refresher: Michael is the child of an evil spirit and a human, Tate Langdon and Viven Harmon. By his very nature, he is the essence of evil, the proclaimed Antichrist.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” “Return to Murder House.”)
The “Return to Murder House” episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” had enough callback moments and references to the franchise’s first season to leave longtime Ryan Murphy fans with years worth of material to obsess over. But one moment in particular had Violet (Taissa Farmiga) and Tate (Evan Peters) shippers screaming at their screens: that ending where the two ghostly lovers finally reconcile.
Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) came around in the final moments of the eagerly-anticipated crossover episode to blow some magical dust in Ben (Dylan McDermott) and Vivien Harmon’s (Connie Britton) daughter’s eyes, which seemed to help her allow Tate back in to her life after all the violent acts he committed in Season 1 aka “Murder House” — including a school shooting and raping her mother.

Since then, Ryan Murphy has established his troupe of actors, and viewers have gotten to know them, but there's nothing like the first time, and there's still nothing quite like the first season of American Horror Story.

Viewers finally got what they’ve been waiting for when we were reintroduced to the “Coven” witches at the end of Episode 3, and tonight’s installment will see the return of Season 1 stars Jessica Lange, Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, all reprising their “Murder House” roles.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse gives us a full Stevie Nicks performance. Who could ask for anything more?
This American Horror Story review contains spoilers.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse Episode 8
During Coven, there was a stand-out moment in which Stevie Nicks, one of the most famous 'witches' in popular culture, showed up at Miss Robichaux's Academy to hang out with Misty Day and sing a couple of songs at the behest of the budding Supreme, Cordelia Goode. Certainly, it was a fun moment. There's no denying the talent of Stevie Nicks, and so many of her songs in Fleetwood Mac make direct references to witchcraft, so she was a natural fit for Ryan Murphy's spooky take on Southern Gothic swamp mysticism. That Coven's most charming character, Misty Day, was obsessed with Stevie Nicks, only made the sequence more adorable. Given that Apocalypse ties back to Coven, it's...

We truly hadn’t seen the last of Emma Roberts’ “American Horror Story” character Madison Montgomery, even after “Coven” ended.
Roberts made her return to the FX anthology series in episode 3 of the current “Ahs” story “Apocalypse” as the witches hit the bunker — and faced Cody Fern’s uber-powerful Michael Langdon. The subsequent episode revealed more about what Madison had been doing in the meantime — finding herself stuck in her own personal hell (as a mistreated retail employee) — before Langdon showed up and saved her.
“I was laughing,” Roberts says of the state Madison’s found in. “I was like, ‘Of course Madison is folding towels in her own personal hell.'”
Variety caught up with Roberts to talk about how Madison has changed (or not) since we’ve last seen her, being directed by co-star Sarah Paulson, and seeing a certain famous “Coven” line get meme’d.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse Season 8 Episode 4
The scenes of domestic bliss that open the episode are, in their shocking Ahs sort of way, wholesome. It's the upbringing that Michael Langdon never got during his time with Constance and the revolving door of nannies she provided him with. She made home-cooked meals, she had conversations with him over the dinner table, and she's even able to get Michael to pray. Granted, he's praying to Satan to give thanks for his meal, but at least the boy is showing a little gratitude. The charm doesn't end there; when we go back to Miriam and Michael's time together, it's clear that she loves the boy, and that he loves her like the mother he's no doubt always wanted.

When it comes to American Horror Story: Apocalypse, we have a lot of questions that desperately need answers. But one of the most pressing pertains to the returning witches from Coven, specifically Madison Montgomery, Myrtle Snow, and Misty Day. As we well know, these three witches perish (all for the second and final time) in the season finale. Misty doesn't make it back from Hell while performing the Seven Wonders "Descensum," Myrtle gets burnt at the stake again, and Kyle murders Madison and hides the body with the help of Spaulding. So how is it that all of them are back in action for Apocalypse?
The most obvious solution is that Cordelia, the new Supreme, uses her extraordinary powers to revive her sisters. But it also seems kind of unlikely; Myrtle begs Cordelia to hold her accountable for her crimes against other witches, and Cordelia also admits that there's no way to bring Misty back.

Halloween came early to American Horror Story: Apocalypse with an hour of deadly tricks, eye-opening treats and the long-awaited arrival of a very familiar trio. Fresh off last week’s discovery that Kathy Bates is, in fact, playing some sort of robot, Wednesday’s episode also peeled back a layer of Mallory, confirming that Coco’s bespectacled assistant isn’t at all what she seems. And neither is Coco.
The episode began with Michael explaining to Gallant that his grandmother “died peacefully in her sleep.” Any suggestion that Gallant stabbed her (repeatedly!) after mistaking her for the Rubber Man is pure “nonsense,...

The world of "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" may seem like a bleak nightmare, but for Leslie Grossman, it’s a dream come true. "Ryan [Murphy] has a lot of fun writing for Coco — his fingerprints are all over that character," she tells TVLine. "I know she’s a strong flavor, but stick with her, because it gets interesting. She seems to be one thing, but you never know what she’ll turn into."
If it sounds like Grossman is being intentionally vague, it’s because she is. "I cannot say anything, only Ryan can do that at this point," she explains,...

The bitch and ghost are back, in two new behind-the-scenes photos from “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.”
The FX anthology series’ creator Ryan Murphy shared shots of Evan Peters in character on Tuesday as teenage ghost Tate (from Season 1 “Murder House”) and Emma Roberts reprising her role as queen bee witch Madison Montgomery (from Season 3 “Coven”), teasing who they will be playing when the show returns for the massive crossover installment next month.
“Tate. Happy to be home,” Murphy captioned the photo of a smiling Peters on set at the “Murder House” in Los Angeles. The creator previously revealed that Peters would also be playing series newcomer Joan Collins’ grandson for Season 8, so it looks like he’s taking on at least 2 roles — if he doesn’t reprise Kyle from “Coven,” too.

There she is, amongst the "backyard bones" at American Horror Story's Murder House, looking as badass as ever. Why is she holding a feather duster? Who cares! Things get seriously creepy in this newly-released promo for American Horror Story: Apocalypse.
It’s the eighth season of FX and Ryan Murphy’s gothic anthology series, but whereas previous installments were able to stand on their own two feet (albeit with recurring elements and characters scattered throughout), “Apocalypse” rips up the rulebook so that key figures from “Coven” and “Murder House” can inhabit the same universe.
For Sarah Paulson and Taissa Farmiga, that means pulling double duty, as the former will be portraying both Billie Dean Howard and Cordelia Goode. And Farmiga? In honor of this year’s bewitching theme (see below), Ahs viewers can expect to see both Violet Harmon and Zoe Benson at some point during the show’s eighth season.

For Sarah Paulson and Taissa Farmiga, American Horror Story season 8 is about to spell double trouble.
As previously revealed, the former Ahs mainstay will be reprising “Murder House” and “Coven” characters come September, meaning viewers will be treated to both Billie Dean Howard and Cordelia Goode. Indeed, last week’s certifiably creepy promo for “Apocalypse” appeared to reveal Paulson’s third character, though when the marketing is as cryptic and unconventional as American Horror Story, we can’t be too sure.
One thing we can tell you with absolute certainty though is that, just like Sarah Paulson before her, Taissa Farmiga will be playing not one, but two characters during American Horror Story: Apocalypse – Violet Harmon and Zoe Benson.
Word comes to us by way of Entertainment Weekly, confirming that, yes, Farmiga has been tasked with two Ahs characters ahead of the show’s eighth season.
