Netflix has unveiled the first look of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in the 4th season of ‘The Witcher,’ taking over from Henry Cavill.
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.
Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the cast also includes nya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla of Cintra), Joey Batey (Jaskier), Laurence Fishburne (Regis) Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla), Cassie Clare (Philippa), Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Meng’er Zhang (Milva), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Royce Pierreson (Istredd), Mecia Simson (Francesca), Sharlto Copley (Leo Bonhart), Danny Woodburn (Zoltan...

More photos from the set of The Witcher season 4 have been shared online, and this time we have an actual first glimpse of Liam Hemsworth suited-up as Geralt of Rivia!
The recent third season of Netflix's fantasy adventure series was original Geralt actor Henry Cavill's last, as the Man of Steel star announced his decision to part ways with the streamer's adaptation of the best-selling novels back in 2022.
Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) will take over as the titular monster hunter from season 4 on, and a recent photo from the set featured his stunt-double Joel Adrian in-costume. Adrian looked enough like Hemsworth to fool a lot of people, but these snaps spotlight the man himself.
The photos show Hemsworth as Geralt doing battle with Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu), and appear to be recreating a scene from season 3 which saw the mage emerge victorious. There is also one shot of Geralt...

Geralt of Rivia’s story has an end date on Netflix.
On Thursday, the streaming service renewed The Witcher for Season 5, but revealed that it would be the last season.
The shocking announcement comes as production is finally getting underway on The Witcher Season 4 following countless setbacks.
“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” showrunner Lauren Hissrich shared in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Saying goodbye to the hit fantasy drama will be tough, but at least we have two seasons that will help soften the blow.

Whichever way "The Witcher" (say that three times fast!) elects to send off Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia, Netflix's marketing team is certainly pulling out all the stops. The streamer has released a second and final trailer for season 3 volume 2 just a few days ahead of its arrival, complete with all the trimmings "Witcher" fans could ask for. There's even a line or two of dialogue that all but explicitly nods to Cavill's impending departure from the show. It's almost enough to give you a lump in your throat, in-between the clips of our treasured grouchy monster hunter dad going all stabbity-stabbity on his enemies.
"We didn't come this far just to abandon each other," Geralt growls at one point. "Then don't abandon me," Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) replies, as the trailer shows Geralt and his "dear friend" holding back tears. It's not all vulnerable admissions and earnest sentiment,...

During an interview with Variety, Chalotra asked what it was like to find out that Cavill is leaving the show. She answered, “We didn’t know until after we’d filmed season 3. And it’s always emotional filming at the end of any season — you know, that...

The Witcher season 3 will be split into two batches of episodes, with the first batch reaching the Netflix streaming service on June 29th and the rest being released on July 27th. The show is inspired by a series of novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, and a lot of fans were disappointed that season 2 strayed away from the source material. As the premiere of season 3 approaches, showrunner Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich has said that this season is going to be more faithful to Sapkowski’s work than the previous one.
Speaking to Collider, Schmidt-Hissrich said, “The truth is that we always obviously start from the books. But I talk a lot in interviews about the fact that you cannot go straight from a page to a screen. And so what we try to do and what I’ve always talked to Sapkowski about is keeping the tone of the books the same. And...

While quite a lot of news came out of the recent D&d Summit, the idea that the tabletop role-playing game is entirely getting rid of half-races and half-species due to concerns over racism has quickly garnered a lot of attention. Try to be surprised, but it turns out that many aspects of this situation are being misconstrued by those who are either working with the wrong information or have simply chosen a certain interpretation of the right information.
Actually, this is one of those stories where you need to take a step back and first look at two key things: what is actually being done and what was actually said about it.
See, in most versions of D&d, it is possible to create Half-Elf and Half-Orc characters. As the name implies, these characters split both the physical traits and attributes of their two base races (humans and elves...

Dungeons & Dragons is a game of choices, but for many D&d players, deciding which class to play may be the toughest choice they make. The best class choice is almost always the class you want to play as most, but D&d players always end up being just a little curious about how popular their chosen class is in the grand scheme of the game. Well, we now at least know what the least popular class in D&d seems to be.
In a new video about some of the changes coming to One D&d‘s Unearthed Arcana update, Game Design Architect Jeremy Crawford talks about reworking the Druid class. He also reveals an interesting detail about the Druid class itself.

In late July, Neverwinter: Jewel of the North, the latest chapter from Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment’s officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons online role-playing game, launched on PC.
With it came a treasure trove of updates, including a revamped tutorial process, two new locations (which let players meet and train, to keep it simple) and a new leveling system that more closely mirrors the tabletop game, with advantages for both new and experienced players, to name a few. But Jewel of the North also debuts a new class of character from the popular tabletop Dungeons & Dragons game: the beloved Bard....

The gifts keep on coming for “The Witcher” fans today, as not long after Netflix revealed the show’s Season 2 premiere date out of WitcherCony, the streaming service dropped the first teaser for the second season of the Henry Cavill-led series as well.
Watch the teaser for “The Witcher” Season 2 via the video above.
In the clip, you’ll see Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) and Geralt (Cavill), finally together after first meeting at the very end of Season 1, and Ciri asking the witcher if she is his “destiny,” to which he replies, she’s “much more” than that. Geralt then takes Ciri with him to meet his witcher brothers at Kaer Morhen, and begins to teach her how to run, how to hide, and how to fight monsters. Although that last one is something he seems very reluctant to be doing.
If you were hoping for Yennefer content (Anya Chalotra), you’re in luck,...

Netflix revealed the first page of the script for the Season 2 premiere of “The Witcher” Tuesday. And yes, there is actually something happening on that page that fans will care about.
Henry Cavill’s monster hunter Geralt of Rivia has the first line of the season, which is said in a voiceover at night in a small mountain town: “You dogged my every footstep. But struck down others I passed on my way. Why?”
A merchant man and his wife and daughter are seeking lodging in this town, which is apparently abandoned and for good reason: The wife immediately goes missing from their cart, leaving the daughter covered in blood. Soon, the merchant is dragged off by the unknown creature attacking them as well.
“I was meant to end up alone, wasn’t I?” So I would finally begin to be afraid?” Geralt’s voiceover continues.
