Sarah Michelle Gellar’s long-awaited return to the small screen has been cut short.
Paramount+ has officially canceled Wolf Pack ten months after its freshman finale.
The series kicked off in January 2023 and picked up with a deadly fire ravaging California.
It triggered a series of supernatural events, and a group of teenagers came together under strange circumstances.
Gellar, best known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played an arson investigator named Kristin Ramsey.
Despite spending much of the freshman season against the group of werewolves at the show’s core, the now-series finale found fans being let in on a big secret:

Sarah Michelle Gellar is already quite familiar with the supernatural world, but what drew her to the Paramount+ series Wolf Pack goes deeper into what the show represents.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress’ latest project, which she stars in and executive produces, has her embracing werewolves, but in a way that gives her the opportunity to discuss important real-world topics, which she says is the reason she did the show. “Supernatural stories, in a really odd way, allow you to tell the most superhuman stories,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter.
While the series, written and produced by Jeff Davis, starts off as a “slow burn,” Gellar’s character eventually has two twists that most probably didn’t see coming — including when she’s revealed to be a werewolf. By the end of the first season, the high school-set horror show has answered many questions surrounding Gellar’s shocking character,...

Long before she was Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar was a child star, landing commercial gigs. The star has had many prominent roles since then, so it’s unlikely most think of her for her Burger King ad. But it certainly made an impact on the actor. Gellar recounts how she was sued by a competitor at just 5 years old.
McDonald’s sued 5-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar for her Burger King commercial
One of the first campaign ads Gellar did was for Burger King back in 1981. The commercial caused the 5-year-old to get into some legal trouble.
“I was the first person to say another competitor’s name in a job,” the star told Buzzfeed. “[They] turned around and sued the advertising agency, Burger King, and me at five!”
In the ad, the young Gellar is seen sitting on a bench outside a Burger King restaurant, where she tells the audience that...

Horror television has been dominated by vampire shows based on books like True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, and Vampire Academy to name a few. Werewolves appeared on some, and also got their own show in Teen Wolf, based on the comedy movies. On paper, “Wolf Pack,” Paramount+’s newest supernatural teen drama, has it all. It’s a show with “Wolf” in the title, created by Jeff Davis, the same guy who created both “Criminal Minds” and the ridiculous and beloved TV show version of “Teen Wolf.” It’s got a diverse cast of hot 20-somethings playing teenagers who sometimes turn into wolves, and, most importantly, it stars supernatural teen drama icon Sarah Michelle Gellar. So it’s unfortunate that “Wolf Pack” doesn’t all come together, at least in the first two episodes made available for review.
The series centers on teens Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard), two opposite teens who both get bitten by some mysterious wolf-like creature when their school bus is derailed by rapidly spreading wildfires. Everett ends up in the hospital with a nasty bite that seems to be quickly disappearing, while Blake rushes home...

The show’s writer, Jeff Davis, is no stranger to werewolf dramas. He also wrote Teen Wolf, a TV reboot of the 1985 film. Recently, Davis shared that a real-life disaster inspired the first scene of Wolf Pack in California.

In every generation, there is a Chosen One. But for many, there’s a particular Chosen One who has transcended all that with a legacy that endures from one generation to the next.
Kendra and Faith both hold a special place in our hearts, but it’s Buffy Summers who will forever remain the blueprint, even now. Sunnydale would have been a very different place without its signature Slayer, and it’s safe to say that TV as a whole would have been very different without Sarah Michelle Gellar too.
In the 20 years that have passed since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended, Gellar has slayed all manner of projects, from underrated roles in Ringer and Southland Tales to an instantly iconic comeback in Do Revenge.
And now she’s back on our screens, working both in-front-of and behind the camera for a new TV show called Wolf Pack.

Are you a Buffy fanatic who plans to check out Wolf Pack purely to get your Sarah Michelle Gellar fix? If so, the former slayer herself has something to tell you.

Before a deep dive into Paramount+’s latest supernatural teen drama “Wolf Pack,” a bit of housekeeping is in order. “Wolf Pack” is the creation of Jeff Davis, who also loosely adapted “Teen Wolf” (from the old Michael J. Fox film) into a six-season drama, for Paramount’s MTV. But “Wolf Pack” – built from the novel by Edo van Belkom – is not a “Teen Wolf” spin-off, and doesn’t take place in the same universe. But it is about werewolves, and it premieres immediately following the new culminating “Teen Wolf” movie. So that settles that.
That might make Davis’ newest project a tad bit confusing, but it’s also a pretty slick strategy to follow your hit series with a show that resembles it so closely that audiences might not resist its supernatural pull. Basically, Davis has cornered the market on teen dramas for people who stayed angry about Bella...

It’s not an anniversary most people are celebrating, but it was only a year ago that Peacock released a quirky little dramedy called Wolf Like Me. Even though it was obvious to anybody who could read the title, the preference was that critics not spoil that the show, featuring a great central performance from Isla Fisher, was really about werewolves. Then again, if you revealed that the show was about werewolves, audiences tuning in for werewolves probably would have felt like the show was too much about people. Stupid, pesky people and their pesky feelings.
Fortunately, there’s no need to tip-toe when it comes to Paramount+’s new drama Wolf Pack. It’s about werewolves. Yay! The very best thing that can be said about Wolf Pack is that it’s not coy. TV’s most iconic vampire slayer and a new whirl on werewolves? Howl, yes! But though this scare-fest is from Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, Paramount+‘s Wolf Pack is not a spinoff. “I would call this a psychological thriller,” Davis says. With action, no surprise! The series is headlined by genre queen Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Los Angeles Fire Department investigator Kristin Ramsey, who is hot to catch an arsonist behind a rash of local wildfires. In the pilot, after flames trap a school bus in the woods with teens Blake (Bella Shepard), Everett (Armani Jackson), and their classmates aboard, the kids are attacked by a fast, furry, and ferocious something hiding amid the burning trees. With this, Ramsey’s case takes a new twist that leads her to the firestarter — but not before riding a collision course with ranger Garrett Briggs (Rodrigo Santoro...

Wolf Pack, the new werewolf series from Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, is a new take on the mythos of shape-shifting monsters. Rather than telling the same story we have heard countless times before, Davis adapts the novels of Edo van Belkom for a unique story following four young people who contend with abilities they are not prepared for. The series also serves as the long-awaited return to genre television of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Also starring Rodrigo Santoro, Wolf Pack hopes to generate a new fanbase as rabid as the one for Teen Wolf.

In just two weeks, on January 26th, the werewolf series Wolf Pack – starring Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sarah Michelle Gellar – will be making its premiere on the Paramount+ streaming service. Now Paramount+ has released a trailer for Wolf Pack to let us get an idea of what the show is going to be like. You can check it out in the embed above.
Based on a series of novels written by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack was created by Jeff Davis, developer and executive producer of Teen Wolf, the MTV series inspired by the “awfully good” 1985 Michael J. Fox comedy. This has caused some confusion, especially since Teen Wolf: The Movie is going to be reaching Paramount+ on January 26th as well, making some fans think the two properties might be connected. Davis has said that is not the case. His werewolf shows are separate from each other.

"Teen Wolf" creator Jeff Davis is back with another teen werewolf-centric adaptation, this time in the form of the Paramount+ series "Wolf Pack." The show is based on the book series of the same name by author Edo van Belkom, and will start off by adapting the first novel, also titled "Wolf Pack." When a local teen starts a wildfire, it ends up changing more lives than just their own. Arson investigator Kristin Ramsey (Buffy the Vampire Slayer herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar) is on the hunt, trying to figure out who started the fire and what it might have awakened in the forest. Along the way she will encounter -- and likely work with -- a group of teens who were changed by that night forever.
Despite loving werewolf stories, I never really got into the "Teen Wolf" TV show, probably because I haven't been a teen in well over a decade.

These teens can’t fight the moonlight. Paramount+ has released the official trailer for its new original series, Wolf Pack, premiering on Thursday, January 26. The strange happenings are all going to start with a wildfire — and a school bus of teens are among those stuck in traffic on the road as a result. Something happens to a group of teens as a result, and soon, they’re getting fangs and claws and worrying about killing people. Kristin Ramsey (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is an arson investigator brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started the wildfire — and she doesn’t think that they’re looking for seven-foot tall monsters. Any return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer would need new blood, according to the television series’ original star, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Gellar played the role of the monster-slaying high schooler for seven seasons, ending in 2003. But now, as rumors swirl of a revival, the 45-year-old says it’s time to find a younger star for the title role.
Speaking recently with SFX Magazine via MovieWeb, Gellar indicated she’s not interested in any return.

The two along with showrunner Jeff Davis and fellow cast members Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, and Tyler Lawrence Gray, however, took part in Paramount+'s presentation to the Television Critics Association (TCA) today to give us more details about the series.
Davis, who is also writing and producing Paramount+ upcoming film, "Teen Wolf: The Movie," started off the panel by sharing two first look clips from the series. The sequences prove that show is very different in tone from "Teen Wolf."

Sarah Michelle Gellar had no intention of joining the upcoming Paramount+ series Wolf Pack, but reading the script changed her mind. The role marks Gellar’s return to the horror genre on TV following her successful run on the WB’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer which premiered in 1997.
Gellar spoke about her decision to star and executive produce the latest werewolf series from Jeff Davis, who developed Teen Wolf for MTV, during the streamer’s TCA presentation on Wednesday.
“I’ve been pitched once, twice, 2000 of these [types of shows]. Honestly, at first, I had no intention of saying yes [to Wolf Pack],” she shared. “When I read the script, it was the first time where my interest was so piqued. One of the beauties of Buffy was the sort of metaphorical aspect of it. These real monsters were the metaphors for the horror of high school and to me, that’s what made...

Sarah Michelle Gellar is opening up about taking an acting break following the death of Robin Williams. The actor stepped away from her career after her The Crazy Ones co-star died to reflect and process the life-changing event.
“I’ve been working my entire life. When I had kids — and it was right after Robin passed away — there was just so much going on in my life and I just said, ‘I need to take a break,'” she told People.
Gellar and Williams worked on the CBS sitcom between 2013 and 2014. The David E. Kelley show ran for one season on the eye network and it would be Williams’ last television acting role.
“I need to be here for these early formative years of my kids’ life,” she added. “I needed that break to be the parent that I wanted to be.”
