With each update, Tekken 8 becomes a better experience, as Bandai Namco listens to the fans, provides balance updates to an extent, and throws in new content for its players. The concept of seasons in games has been going on for a while.
Although the latest Tekken felt complete on release as compared to other titles in the genre, even it couldn’t escape the seasonal route that comes with modern gaming. Last month, series veteran Eddy Gordo made his entrance into Tekken 8, but the future will see more inclusions that fans will likely appreciate.

With a base roster of 32 fighters, Tekken 8 has surpassed Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6, as it has earned the crown of being the greatest fighting game of the current generation because of its relatively non-greedy practices. Where MK1 and SF6 had 22 and 18 characters in their base rosters, respectively, with the rest of the fighters locked behind paid Dlc, the latest installment in the Tekken franchise ensured that it treated its fans with as many iconic faces as possible.
However, there was a void in the absence of one Og fighter who, ever since his debut in 1997’s Tekken 3, remained a fan-favorite character in every game that followed.
Eddy Gordo Enters the Tekken 8 Roster in Style
The Indomitable Flash, Eddy Gordo, has arrived in Tekken 8.
Although Eddy Gordo will make his Tekken 8 debut for all players on April 4, gamers who bought the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition got to select the Brazilian fighter from April 1 onwards.

There was a time when arcades reigned supreme, and Bandai Namco’s 3D fighter Tekken series was a top contender for king of the fighting games. Despite being someone who grew up in the twilight of arcades’ popularity, my first experience with Tekken wasn’t with a cabinet, but with a kiosk at Toys “R” Us. As a kid who loved playing Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat at home, my attention was instantly piqued by the flashy graphics and explosive audio of Tekken 2 blasting from the chunky TV...
