Morgan Wallen had a grand opening of his Nashville bar scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. But his past bad boy behavior came back to haunt him, forcing him to cancel and postpone the bar opening for a later date. What happened?
Morgan Wallen Cancels Nashville Bar Opening After Arrest
Morgan Wallen was arrested in April after allegedly tossing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s bar in downtown Nashville. He has three pending felony charges of reckless endangerment. He was originally slated to face the music in court in May, but the hearing date has been changed. The arrest came just as the singer finally rehabbed his image following the 2021 scandal when he was caught on camera using a racial slur.

Between appearing in a minor role for Doug Liman’s Road House, singing alongside Taylor Swift on the chart-topping hit “Fortnight,” and making history with the first-ever RIAA-certified Double-Diamond single, everything is coming up Milhouse for Post Malone. Not content to rest on his laurels, Malone is partnering with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller’s Platinum Dunes, and Vault Comics to create an all-new IP universe based on an original idea from the unstoppable auto-tune-loving artist.
According to Deadline, Malone’s idea is inspired by George Miller’s beloved thriller Mad Max: Fury Road and demonic horror films like Evil Dead. Post Malone’s universe is set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.

Post Malone kicked off the 2024 Super Bowl festivities with an impassioned performance of “America the Beautiful” at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
The Grammy-winning rapper and singer appeared alongside model and dancer Anjel Piñero, who performed the song in American Sign Language (Asl) on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf. Standing solo with an acoustic guitar in hand, Posty delivered a tasteful version of the song, with reverb-washed vocals and a dreamy pedal steel guitar line.
Speaking about the performance with Zane Lowe earlier this week, Malone revealed that he felt “totally out of [his] depth” compared to the evening’s other performers, and said, “I’m just excited and very, very honored to be able to come out and sing these songs with talented people and all of America. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m terrified, but I give it the best I got.” Watch the performance below.

Taylor Swift has unveiled the tracklist for her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, revealing the names of the record’s 17 songs as well as features by Post Malone and Florence + the Machine.
First announced by Swift onstage at the 2024 Grammy Awards last night, The Tortured Poets Department is due on April 19th. Today, she shared what appears to be the album’s back cover, featuring an image of herself with overlaid text reading “I love you, it’s ruining my life,” as well as the tracklist, printed above a seal reading “From the desk of Taylor Swift.”
In addition to the songs featuring Florence and Posty, there are tracks with titles that pique curiosity, like “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” “So Long, London,” “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” all of which sound like excellent starting-points Swift songs.

Ever since his CMA Awards performance with Morgan Wallen and Hardy, Post Malone has seemingly been bopping around Nashville. He was spotted at Duke’s bar in East Nashville earlier this month and is reportedly holed up somewhere in town working on his long-anticipated country project. He also collaborated with Wallen in the studio during CMAs week, at least according to a photo that Nashville songwriter Ernest posted of himself with Posty and Wallen.

Post Malone enjoys using his international tours as opportunities to check out local watering holes, particularly those that offer karaoke. He had some free time to do just that in New Zealand a couple of nights ago, singing Sublime’s “What I Got” and The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” to patrons of Danny Doolan’s Irish Pub.
“I met Posty last night in my bar Danny Doolans in Auckland, asked him if he could get on stage and he actually did it!!! Legend,” a fan wrote on TikTok, capturing Posty as he tore through Sublime’s 1996 classic with the pub’s live band. Holding a mic in one hand, and gripping both a beer bottle and cigarette in the other, it doesn’t look like he needed too much convincing to hop on stage.

Post Malone is a fairly low-maintenance performer, one almost as likely to have a red Solo cup in his hand on stage as he is to be wielding a microphone. But his shows are usually only an hour or two, and naturally, there’s a distance between himself and the thousands of people in his audience. Currently, on a trip to New Zealand, the singer found a remedy for bridging this gap by hanging with and performing for unsuspecting bar-goers at Danny Doolan’s Irish Pub for four hours.

Post Malone posted up at NPR’s office recently to play a delightful Tiny Desk Concert, just a couple of weeks after releasing his latest album Austin.
Posty began the set not with a new track, but with his smash hit “Sunflower.” Outfitted with a band comprising some lush background vocals, strings, piano, and more, the pop-rap crossover got a bit of a saccharine, bluegrass-inspired facelift. After the song wrapped, Post shared his gratitude to NPR for the invitation: “I’m super excited to come on this show, and super nervous — I’m not, actually, never mind,” he said with a heavy dose of sarcasm. “I’m not nervous at all.”
Despite admittedly struggling to give his best vocal performance — “I’m on tour, so my voice is balls right now,” he warned — the proud Dallas Cowboys fan next gave an impassioned rendition of his 2017 ballad “I Fall Apart.” He...

Most rappers flaunt their bling and their cars, but Post Malone can now add a very rare Magic: The Gathering card to his collection of splurges — this splurge, in particular, being valued at over $2 million.
A lucky fan named Brook Trafton recently acquired the one-of-a-kind “One Ring” Mtg card, a crossover collaboration they did with the Lord of the Rings franchise earlier this year. It’s unclear exactly how the two got in touch, but Trafton figured Posty, a noted longtime Mtg fan, would appreciate the collectible.
On Tuesday (August 1st), Trafton shared TikTok of himself meeting Post, presenting him with the plastic-encased card. After the singer examines it for a second, he responds: “Yeah, I’ll take it,” beaming as the pair hug. “This is so cool. This is, like, the greatest shit ever, dude!” he adds later.

Post Malone has revealed “Mourning,” the second preview of his upcoming album, Austin. Listen below.
Built around a two-chord progression, “Mourning” sees Posty lyrically grappling with a struggle to face reality. As a booming kick holds down the beat, he calls out “quote-unquote friends,” describes intoxicatedly stumbling around to The Commodores, and “mourns” the death of his buzz as the morning sun brings an end to the sweet escapism of night. It’s catchy, melancholic, and quintessentially Post Malone.
Austin is out on July 28th via Mercury Records/Republic Records, and pre-orders are ongoing. The follow-up to last year’s Twelve Carat Toothache includes the previous single, “Chemical.”
In July, Post Malone is set to hit cities across North America on his “If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying” tour, including St. Louis, Toronto, and San Diego. Tickets are available at StubHub, where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program.
